Chapter 9Ava’s POV “Hey little bunny, I’ve been expecting you. Don’t I deserve a hug as an apology for getting stood up yesterday?”I swallowed hard, my pulse thudding in my ears. Don’t look at his mouth. Don’t look at his hands.“Good day, Mr. Kayden. My husband said you liked the suit.” I kept my voice level, chin high. “Let me guess……this is how you greet office guests?”His smile didn’t falter. “Forgive my manners. Please, have a seat.”“Thank you, Mr. Kayden.” I pulled the chair out myself and sat, spine straight. He circled back to his desk, but his gaze stayed on me, slow and heavy, like fingers trailing over skin.“I never knew you had a hidden talent. You keep surprising me.”I opened my mouth to shut him down.“Mr. Kayden, I…”“Please. Call me Kay. Or Den. You own me, remember?” He winked. My grip tightened on the armrests. “I have no idea why you insisted I come here just to thank me for the suit. Well, here I am. Thank you for liking it. That’s all.” I pushed to my feet.
