I woke up somewhere in the middle of the night to a piercing pain.It hurt. I took in a deep breath, trying to get rid of the pain but it was pointless. The pain only intensified.I bit back my lower lips, trying to keep the pain to myself. but it was impossible. The screams tore from my lips as my eyes blurred from the pain. The guards rushed in, trying to shut me up but it did not work. They entered into the cell, trying to pull me out but it was a horrible idea “No!!!!” I screamed, almost begging them not to touch me, but they ignored me, pulling me out of the cell and out where the cool air could touch me.I sighed for a while, the sensation stopping for a little bit ‘those fuckers’ I thought to myself, looking at the direction of the pack house. ‘They are actually mating’ I thought, the bitter feeling settling in my chest. The pain started again, causing me to blink several times to get the pain to stop, but as usual, it was pointless. This time, the pain felt as though my gut w

I opened my eyes, taking in a deep breath. For some reason, the fact that I was still at the Moon wood’s pack brought a level of comfort that I did not even expect.I turned, my heart almost jumping out of my mouth as I came face to face with Ronan as I was not expecting him to be that close to me.“You are up” I nodded, backing up a bit to create more space between us. Something in the way he spoke terrified me. “I tried the herbals I was given to lessen the effect of the mark” He said, looking me straight in the eye.I nodded, for some reason, fear gripping my body more than I would have liked to admit with the way he looked me in the eye.“I..” I gulped, running my tongue along my bottom lips to keep it moist. I did not miss the way his eyes followed that movement, before he looked back at me, but I kept myself calm. “I really do appreciate all you do… really, I am so grateful” I said, my voice was nothing more above a whisper.I watched as his eyes softened a bit, before they hard

“I… I am sorry okay? I just.. I just…” The words were stuck in my mouth, with me unable to say anything. He took a step towards me, making me take one back, trying to keep the distance between us.“I am…, I just… “ I tried again to get the words out “Please don’t hurt me” The tears were streaming down my eyes before I could stop myself, then he shifted. He looked at me long and hard not saying anything before he came close to me, picking me up from the ground.I was still, barely breathing so that he would not get annoyed. Ethan hated when I breathed a certain way, said I was irritating when I did that.“You need to relax. You just ran with your condition” He said in the most gentle voice I heard even with the rage still very much on his face “You risked your life Anya” He said, his tone sharp at the last part. I said nothing. He seemed to know that I was not going to say anything, before taking me back to the pack clinic.“I could come down so you could…” I started, as soon as we rea

“Excuse me?” I gasped, my Jaw hinging from its sockets.“We have known about being mates for a while now. Most people would have completed the mating ritual by now.” He looked me dead in the eye.“Yes, but most couples are not….”“Are not what? Me?” He said, taking the words right out of my mouth but I shook my head, trying to cover up the fact that I was still bothered by the fact that he was my mate.“No. I wanted to say that most people are not in the situation that I am in right now” I said, pointing to the little mark on my neck.“Very well then” He said, nodding “That makes a very good point. Both of us fell very quiet, the awkwardness fading into what I did not anticipate, tensionThe room felt too small for the two of us.I sat on the edge of the bed now, hands folded in my lap, painfully aware of Ronan across from me. He hadn’t touched me. Hadn’t even moved closer. And somehow that made it worse. The silence stretched, thick and charged, I watched him studying every curve and

“You are not messing with me right? Because I swear…” She shook her head.“I mean it. I would not even dare to think about it” she said, looking at me with the most sincere eyes I had seen from her in a while. The door swung open, revealing Ronan who looked half asleep but still managed to look good.“There was an earth quake, I just wanted to check if you are good” His voice sounded like it was a routine, like he had asked everyone. I nodded, opening my mouth to ask another question before he tensed. His eyes zeroing in on Esme.“She is with me” I said immediately, stepping in front of her.He looked like he had a lot to say but then nodded, mumbling something about tightening the borders and all before he left.“Thank you” She said, looking at me with a smile on her face. “We should be leaving in now if we want to get…“Getting out is not as easy as getting in” I said, stopping her in her tracks.“Your head would be ripped off before you can even give an excuse.” I watched her face
