Marcus POV My Beta did not waste a single breath as soon as I gave him the command to summon the council elders.“The council must be summoned. Now,” he ordered the guards, his voice sharp enough to cut stone as he walked through the corridors. I could hear his voice from inside my chamber.“By the Alpha’s command,” he added, his voice getting faint.Within moments, the iron bell of the council hall rang, once, twice, echoing urgency through the palace walls. I watched from my chamber, looking through the window to see Elders abandon their chambers, their murmurs filling the corridors like restless spirits as they rushed down to the council hall.I loved from the balcony as I stood in my chamber, fastening the clasp of my cloak, when a knock sounded in the door gently.“Enter,” I said coldly.A guard bowed deeply. “Alpha, the elders are seated in the council hall. They await your arrival,” he announced, bowing his head.My jaw tightened. “Call my Beta. Immediately.” I ordered.“Yes,

Raven's POV.“Wake up,” Marcus' voice echoed in my room as I was dragged out of sleep by a thunderous bang that shook my door on its hinges. The voice was loud, calling my name, “ Raven! Raven”My eyes were flying open as my heart slammed violently against my ribs because the roars cut through the silence like a blade. For a second, my mind was foggy, confused about who would dare burst into my chamber at this hour. My body barely had time to react before the door was shoved open with force.Marcus stormed in, his presence filled the room like a dark cloud, his eyes blazing with a fury I had never seen so raw.“Marcus…?” I whispered hoarsely after fighting to open my eyes from the deep sleep I was in.I pushed myself up on the bed. “What happened?” innocently.“What is wrong with you?!” he thundered, his voice echoing against the walls. “Have you lost your mind?!”I blinked rapidly, my breath hitching as dear took the better part of me. I could see his wolf rising in him, and I fear

Author's POV “What did she say?” Raven’s father demanded the instant the call ended between his wife and Raven. “Repeat it. Every word,” he pressed on.“I did not give her room to argue,” Raven's mother replied calmly. “I spoke fast and firmly. I also told her to come as soon as possible,” she explained to her husband.A low chuckle rolled from him. “Good. Very good,” he said, nodding his head.“She didn’t even protest,” the woman added.“She wouldn’t dare,” he scoffed. “She knows what happens when she disobeys us. I still remain her father.” “Exactly,” her mother said, amusement lacing her tone.“She will soon be here,” Raven's father concluded.“So, is everything ready?” he asked.“Yes, the maid has prepared everything,” the woman replied.“That's good,” the man said, nodding to it.“Should I call Jade now?” the woman asked.“Immediately,” he ordered. “I want both daughters under this roof.” he said , his voice low but firm.***“Jade,” a sleepy voice murmured from the couch, “yo

Author's POV “You dare raise your voice at me in my own house?” Raven’s father roared angrily, looking at her.“I’m not raising my voice,” Raven shot back, her voice shaking, “I’m defending myself. I won’t apologize to Jade for something I didn’t do.” Raven stood on her words.“So now you are calling your sister a liar?” her father snapped.“Father, listen to her first…” Raven’s mother tried to intervene as he seemed to be feeling pity for her.“Enough!” he thundered. “I have listened enough.”“Then listen one more time,” Raven pleaded. “Jade provoked me. She always does. She mocked my daughter, calling her names.”“Oh, here we go again,” Jade scoffed. “See? She’s doing it again. Always blaming me.” Jade defended and tried to block Raven from speaking about what actually happened.“Stop pretending!” Raven yelled. “You know exactly what you did!”Before anyone could react, a loud slap echoed through the room.Paaa! And it landed on the raven's face.“You slapped me… because of Jade?”

Raven's POV I staggered out of my parents’ house like someone who had been pushed off a cliff, my feet moving but my soul left behind. I was down, hurt and felt betrayed. I had one of the most painful experiences in my father's house that made me start asking questions without answers. I ignored my mother's plea even as I stepped out. “Raven!” my mother’s voice chased after me, sharp and breaking at the same time. “Raven, stop! Come back!” but I never turned. “Did you hear me calling you?” my mother shouted again, desperation creeping into her tone but all to no avail as my mind has already been made up. My lips parted, but no sound came out. My throat burned, my chest felt too tight to breathe, and the only voice I could hear was my father's cold, final, merciless words. “From today henceforth,” his words echoed in my head like a death sentence, “you cease to be my daughter. I disown you.” I clenched my fists as I reached the steps. “Disown you.” The words kept ringing. “D

Raven's POVI could feel everything slowly falling apart, but then again, there's nothing that I can do about it. I couldn't turn the hands of the clock, or change the tides to my favour. But I wish I could change them because of my little girl. She deserves so much better. It started slowly at first, she barely noticed me when I entered her room or more like totally ignores me. She doesn't let me braid her hair asides from the maids and that moment, that was when I really was slowly loosing my daughter to something cold and vile. She has changed in so many ways. I knew she loves me, but if given the chance to pick between her father and I? He'll me little one would pick her father, a thousand times over. All she craves is just attention and all he throws back is cold hearted hatred for a little child which was unnecessary.Nothing could be done to help her, she was just five, a child and yet made to carry all the weight that she doesn't deserve. All she ever wanted was a father

Sienna's POV.“I'm finally living the life I've always wanted!” I let out a shrill laugh as I felt my powers course through my veins.Marcus? At the thought of his name, I laughed even louder. How foolish of him to think that I really did love him.I was attracted to him at first, can't lie. But only sexually and nothing more. But then, to make matters worse, he doesn't last long in bed. Arghhhh ….I watched myself in the mirror.“Everything will be fine; I just have to put up a strong front and that’s all. Alright, Sienna, you can do this!” I reassured myself as I stepped back a bit from the mirror. Grabbing the belt around my waist, I cinched it tighter, thereby pushing the corset higher, making my breasts appear even fuller.Marcus was more about appearance than character. “Which would be his downfall sooner or later,” I giggled as I ran my fingers along the mirror, making sure to deliberately leave a scratch behind.“Make sure to change that mirror,” I said to the maid behind m

Marcus’ POV “Things aren't going the way I want it” I said in frustration. The pack was slipping through my very own fingers. I could feel it, even in the way the guards take seconds before acting. Their salute ain't as sharp as usual. Even the air felt different…heavier, like the territory itself was holding its breath. They were watching. Waiting. Not for me. For her. That was the truth I refused to speak aloud. That's she still had so much power even after everything that has happened. Raven. Even after everything, even after the neglect and abuse . But somehow she stayed and maintained her stance. She's the reason this pack is still this way. Still standing. Because you couldn’t fight what people still believed in. That morning, I woke with a tightness in my chest, the kind that didn’t come from battle or claws or bloodshed. It came from fear. Not fear of an enemy outside our borders… Fear of what was rotting inside my own walls. I stood at the window of my off

Raven's POV“So according to the reports it's an insider's job, but then who?” I asked absent-minded as I walked up to meet rokun and the remaining members at the strategy room.Their greetings rented the air as I entered and just gave them a slight nod of my head.“Luna…” Rokun said as he reached out for the report book before walking over to meet me. “... we'll be having a meeting right here with the alpha” he hesitated as he mentioned the alpha's name. The entire room stilled as if waiting for my reaction.Waiting for me to break down.Waiting for me to cry out in anger and pain. But I wouldn't let that happen. They all know that any confrontation with the alpha would surely and most definitely lead to an altercation. Plus the last time we met wasn't a nice one.Waving my hands absentmindedly, I cleared my throat and said, “Whatever, let me know once it's almost time Rokun…now back to business”“Everyone gather round” I said and they gathered almost immediately. The maps were alr

Sienna’s POVI hated the way they looked at her.It wasn’t obvious; not loud, not foolish. The pack wasn’t stupid enough to openly disobey Marcus. But loyalty was a strange thing. It didn’t always speak.Sometimes it lingered in silence.Sometimes it lived in the way heads turned, in the way bodies shifted, in the way the air itself seemed to… soften. And it softened for her.Raven.Their very own queen and Luna.I stood by the balcony that overlooked the pack grounds, fingers gripping the stone railing so tight my knuckles turned pale. She was walking below.Just walking. No guards beside her. No crown on her head. And yet.The wolves stopped.Training slowed.A mother pulling her child aside paused. A warrior bowed his head slightly without even realizing. It was instinct.Like the pack still remembered who their Luna was.My stomach twisted.I hated this, I hated all of these, even after my hard work to get them to notice me, none of it worked.“What are they doing?” I muttered un
