Dax, you scared me,” I whispered, holding my chest. “I am sorry about that,” he quickly apologized, a small smile forming on his lips. I wish I could laugh about this, too, but I was nervous as hell. Something didn’t seem right and it was getting me on my edge. “You wanna join us? The table is set already?” Dax asked, pointing towards the dining area. I took a deep breath. “I am so sorry, I just lost track of where I was and—“Dax shook his head, stopping me from talking more. “You really don’t have to explain much, I totally understand that you have some things that you are dealing with,” Dax said. I smiled at him.He was so understanding, I had never met someone like him before. He slowly guided me to the dining hall and I met Nana already feeding Lily. “Lily tells me she has a problem with school,” Nana asked.
