Lacy’s POVI clutched the portfolio tight as I waltzed inside the corporate office of Vice Corp, a determined look on my face.As much as I didn’t want to work for alpha Rafael, it still stung to be thrown off the case under the guise of incompetence and watch the case get given to none other than Cassie.I was certain that the leak did not come from me, I was angry that Hans would even accuse me of such and I was going to put that anger to good use.I exited the elevator on the penthouse floor and walked into a conference room. On the other side of the long oval table, was the CEO of Vice Corp and his lawyer, a woman by the name of Felicia.“What is the meaning of this?” Felicia said standing up as soon as I walked in.“Sit down, Felicia,” I said in a no-nonsense tone. I settled into the chair opposite them and slammed the portfolio on the table dramatically.“Do you know what this is?” I asked the CEO directly. He remained silent and looked to Felicia.“My client only took the meetin

Lacy’s POVMy heart was thumping in my chest as I continued down the corridor, the encounter with Luna Rosa was something I was not expecting and by the look that was on her face, it was clear that she was not expecting me too.Seeing her again brought back painful memories of the past. If not of her lie, I would have never have been banished from my pack, I would not have gone through child birth without the father of my children. And to think she didn’t seem remorseful at all after all she did, it was almost infuriating. If not for the fact that I had made up my mind thanks to Blain’s advice, to keep cool so that alpha Rafael did not notice anything, I would have lashed out at her again.Maybe that was the right move, instead of tip toeing around the alpha, I might as well attack his luna again and get banished once more and put an end to all this.My muscle memory was kicking in and I was meandering through the wide snaking corridors that led to alpha Rafael’s study.“He is not dow

Rafael’s POV“Alpha, I don’t think that is a good idea.”I set my glass down and stared at beta Ted, “Excuse me?”He swallowed nervously as he stood across from me, “What you are planning to do –”“I don’t remember asking for your opinion, Ted,” I cut him off and resumed drinking my wine. The soft liquid soothed my throat as it sailed downwards and I sighed in satisfaction as I stared at the empty glass – wine – one of the human marvels that I thoroughly appreciated.I looked up, Ted was still there, a frown came to my face. “Alright Ted, go ahead and tell me what it is that you think since suddenly you are the authority on right and wrong.”“Alpha, I never said I was the authority on –”“Save me the bullshit and spit it out.”He swallowed again, then straightened himself as he looked at me, “It is a bad idea!”I arched an eye brow as I stared at him, “Pray tell, how is a decision that I made, of sound mind, a bad idea?”He could spot the trap in my question and he shifted his weight

Lacy’s POV“I have to go,” I said getting up in a hurry.Blaine wore a look of concern on his face, “What is it?”“I don’t know, it is my mom… I think something is wrong, she was crying on the phone.”Blaine’s eyes narrowed, “You think he has something to do with this?”I shook my head, “I don’t know, I just have to go.”“Lacy, I think you need to calm down and think about this…”“What is there to think about, Blaine? My mom is in trouble, my family is in trouble, they need me!”He stared at me for a while and then exhaled, “Fine, I will drive you.”My eye brows shot up at the mention of that, “Are you insane?”“Lacy, I think it’s time I…”“No, no, no, no, Blaine. You can’t do that! You can’t come into the Crescent Scythe pack… that is a death sentence. I appreciate the offer, but no.”He smiled a small smile and got up.It didn’t take a genius to know that he was angry. But what he didn’t know was that I was trying to protect him. If Alpha Rafael knew that I was hanging around anothe

Lacy’s POV“In two days from now, you…and all three of your children… shall return back to live in the Cresent Scythe pack!”The words echoed around the room and there was a dull ringing in my ear as I stared at him, my body stiffening beyond my control.“You…and all three of your children!”He knew… Alpha Rafael knew about my kids, just as I had feared. My legs shuffled under me and before I even realized what was happening, I staggered backwards.A small satisfied grin appeared on his face as he stared at me, my reaction to his sudden decree seemed to please him.I dropped on the couch behind me as all energy leaked out of my legs, I could not believe this was happening, the moment that I had been dreading since I first saw this man was finally come upon me.The grin lingered on his face and then disappeared, only to be replaced by an intense look as his fiery crimson eyes burned into me.Without another word, he turned and headed for the exit.“Please, don’t do this.” I muttered in
