LILIANA'S POVMy heart dropped to my stomach as his sharp, killer eyes landed on me.What was making him so angry?I shifted closer to mum, moving behind her to get away from his piercing stare. LESLIE'S POVI pushed myself further into my side of the car, my whole body drowned in shame. It had been the most uncomfortable two hours of my life. I hated that Saint had to witness that so I was not sure how to face him. I was sure he already knew about my living conditions in the Webster family. However, knowing was one thing, seeing it happen in real time was another thing.I raised my phone to check how severe the bruise was on the side of my face but I paused when I sensed Saint's angry eyes on me.Why was he angry with me?I palmed my cheeks to cover it, even though it hurt to touch it. I glanced at the exit just to make sure I hadn't missed her.Selene was returning to the country today. She told me she didn't want anybody to pick her up but of course, I didn't listen to her. I haven't seen her in almost three years because I've been too busy to travel and she hasn't stepped foot in Belleview in ten years either so you can understand how excited I am.I rested my head on the chair’s headrest as my thoughts drifted to Leslie. LESLIE'S POVI opened up my closet as I got out of the bathroom, my eyes on the clock. I would be late if I didn't hurry. I paused as I noticed an unfamiliar dress hanging at the end of all my worn out clothes. It was a blue fitted formal dress with buttons arranged on its front and puffed out sleeves. It was really beautiful and it looked expensive. I turned the dress around, wondering why it was in my closet. I noticed a stick on note with writing on the back of it so I pulled it off.I unconsciously smiled as I read what was on it. It wasn't any loving statement but for some reason, I couldn't stop smiling. Wear it- Your husband.Saint Baxter was a very confusing man. He was painted as ruthless and unforgiving. LESLIE'S POV I blinked my eyes open to meet whitewashed ceilings, my head hurting terribly. My face felt wet, alongside my body. Somebody must have splashed water on me. I looked around to realize that I was in the toilet. It was a familiar toilet I had run into several times when things were difficult for me at work, which meant…I was still in Webster Group.I leaped off the floor where I was sitting, my ankle screaming at the movement. My elbow hurt and I noticed a scratch when I checked it. What the hell happened? I let out the breath I was holding and could finally think freely once again.I hated what close proximity to him does to me.“But why? I tended to do that when I was agitated.“I know but I also know that you can handle it.” He shrugged, dipping his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants. SAINT’S POVI glanced at Leslie and shook my head. Her head stayed down as she peered down into her work iPad. It came with the job. I smiled as she scrunched up her nose. I noticed that she did that whenever she was confused about something.“You know lunch breaks exist so you can take a break from work, right?" I asked when I couldn't hold it in anymore.“There is so much for me to learn. I can't afford to slack for even a single minute." She didn't even look up at me. LESLIE'S POVI toyed with my fingers as I paced in front of Saint's door like I have been doing for the past twenty minutes. After we had left the restaurant, Saint drove us home immediately, all thoughts of returning to the office forgotten.I had stayed plastered to my side of the car as he sped home, defying all traffic signs. I was scared but the murderous look on his face stopped me from complaining.He looked like he would kill anybody that spoke to him.After we got home, he shut himself up in his room and hasn't come out since. It has been four hours now.I couldn't take it anymore and moved to his door but every time I tried to knock, I chickened so I just stuck to pacing. My mind drifted to what happened to the restaurant as my steps faltered. The shock and confusion I had felt at the interaction washing over me again.I have never seen Saint so…so defeated. Who was that woman? Who was she to Saint? What happened between her and Saint? And most importantly, who was Diana?
