All Chapters of Always My Sister, Not Me: Chapter 71 - Chapter 80

Matilda“Do you feel okay?” Michael looks at me and asks the moment we are in his car. I inhale deeply and rest my back against the seat. I rethink all about the words I'd said to that woman in there.I feel no guilt at all. I feel free in fact.I turn to look at him, and as I open my mouth to respond, my phone rings in the car. I look at it and it's from Amanda. I feel so ashamed to even talk to her and let her know that it was my own damn mother who had not only tried to strip off her very own daughter naked, but also ruined Amanda's efforts.“Who's calling, aren't you going to answer it?” Michael asks me.I tear my eyes away from my phone and look at him again. “It's Amanda, but... but I can't bring myself to talk to her right now. I... I just can't. It's hard to inform her that the reason for the biggest fashion event of the year, all the planning down to the last detail had all been for nothing, all because of my mother.” I shake my head and sigh out again. The phone continues t

MatildaI stare at Amanda for a moment. I can't bring myself to even look at her in the eyes, especially not after what my own mother had done. I could see the dryness under her eyes, which showed she'd barely gotten enough sleep. Meanwhile, that pervert, Mike seemed to have a face of daisies despite the crisis going on.She approaches me. “How are you, Matilda?”I wish I was fine, but I wasn't. And after today, I know I can't work here, not while that vile creep still works at this agency.“Please, come with me to my office. There's something I wish to discuss with you...” She smiles at me, and her smile makes me feel even worse.“I'm very sorry, Ms. Amanda. But I quit. I can't work here at this agency anymore.” I quickly tell her.She slowly turns around to face me.“What do you mean you quit, Matilda? Why would you...” She asks me.I gulp. I wonder if I should tell her about Mike. She deserves to know the kind of man she's about to get married to. I have made mistakes in my own li

AmandaI walk back into my office. I feel stressed out after Matilda chose to leave. Mike follows me into the office as well, and doesn't wait for me to even sit down when he starts to say.“We have to sue that girl's mother! They have to pay dearly for what we've lost in the market.”“Mike, please, not right now.” I say in a weak voice and take my seat before feeling my temple.“What do you mean by not right now, Amanda? Aren't you aware of the situation we're in? The collection was a failure, a fucking failure!”I look at him. “Don't shout at me, Mike. What's your problem? Can't you see that I'm not feeling good?”“Of course you won't feel good, and neither am I! The collection which we spent millions on is now sitting in our storage room, waiting for some store to walk through that door and demand for those clothes!” Mike continues to yell, and I swear I haven't seen him this worked up, not even when we first started this agency and things weren't going well.“This is just a major

MichaelI receive a call from my assistant.I pick it up. “Yes,”“Mr Wilson, Ms. Matilda is here, wanting to see you.”I blink, then look at the time on my watch. Isn't she supposed to be at the agency at this hour?“Send her in immediately, thank you.” I drop the call, and for a moment I wonder if Matilda is okay. I stare at the door, and in a few seconds, Matilda walks in, pushing the door open.I stand up to welcome her.“My love, how are you?” I approach her, smiling because I'm so happy to see her. But I can tell from a mile away that Matilda doesn't share the same wide smiles as me.“Hello, Michael. I hope I didn't come at a bad time?...” Matilda looks embarrassed for some reason, and I quickly shake my head, holding her hands before I kiss her deeply on her lips.Oh God, I've missed these lips so much. I know it's only been just yesterday, but... I can't help but think that it's been more than twenty-four hours. I hold her tightly and kiss her more, wrapping my arms around her

Matilda I walk straight to Susie's apartment. I feel like talking with Susie is sure to ease down my nerves and feelings. I can't stop thinking about what Michael had suggested on the way to the front door of Susie's apartment. I know it's been a while since I'd resumed my masters. And I wonder if I'm ready to go back. It reaches my mind, but then I can't help but feel that everyone on campus already knows about my scandal and the leaked videos online. Even till this day, I am still aware that some of those videos of me almost naked in front of thousands are still somewhere on the internet. Scandals like this are always hard to go away in just a couple of days. I try to open the door, but it's locked. I frown slightly because I remember informing Susie of my arrival to her apartment. Still, I decide not to think much of it, because I have a spare key. Susie had given me a few months ago, and practically said to me that ‘her home was also mine.’ I quickly open my bag and rummage thr
