บททั้งหมดของ Always My Sister, Not Me: บทที่ 31 - บทที่ 40

Michael I reach the parking lot and my phone vibrates in my suit pockets. I groan, thinking it's Seraphina calling again to annoy me but I ease up on my anger when I see Daniel's name flashing on my phone's screen. “Hello,” I whisper as I spot my car and walk towards it. “What's the matter, bro? You sound tense. Did things go wrong in the meeting?” Daniel asks. I shove my car keys into the keyhole and open my car door. I place my phone on loudspeaker and place it on the bonnet of my car before I take off my suit jacket and throw it towards the backseat. “Seraphina is what went wrong.” I hiss, wondering why I couldn't stand Seraphina anymore. How come I never realized that I was literally dating a child. I always knew Seraphina had no brains and was slightly immature but right now I don't think I can tolerate any of this lie anymore. This has to end right now. “Matilda's sister? Bro, did you miss the meeting to be with her?” Daniel asks and I think if he's stupid right now for ask

Matilda“Me? Oh no, no, I'm not a model.” I quickly tell Ms. Amanda.I expect her face to be down in disappointment, but instead her face radiates and beams like wasping sunshine that you don't want to be away from. “That's even better. This way I know I won't have to fight with other agencies to have you.” Amanda giggles and Grace smiles.“You should say yes, Matilda.” Grace says.“Um... I don't think you understood me, Ms. Amanda. I... I can't model. I have never even practiced in my dreams let alone even know how to walk on a ramp. I just can't.” I try to explain but deep down I think it's just me having to stand in front of so many people.“Please call me just Amanda, dear. And I have been in this business for more than twenty years now, my dear. So I know a potential model when I see one.” Amanda declares. “Look at you, my dear. You've got the curvy body, the light skin and the hair which I need right now for my collection. So haven't you ever thought to become a model?”I shake

Michael “That blonde broad is crazy, bro.” Daniel gasps at me. I take a full shot of the tequila before I pass the empty glass towards the bartender for a refill. “Tell me about it.” I sigh, not wanting to recall ever seeing that side of Seraphina. “It's a good thing you've ended things. You knows what she's capable of.” “Well, now I won't have to find out.” I say and see the bartender pass me another full shot of tequila across the table. “It's obvious you didn't know the real Seraphina Roosevelt.” Daniel says and gulps down a whiskey shot. “I think I've started to. Now I believe what you'd said. All of those times we dated, she always lied to me about Matilda. She said Matilda was a lesbian, a terrible sister to her when they were kids and how Matilda even tried to kill her when they were little simply because she got their parents' attention and love. But now... I don't believe any of the things she said to me. I can't... believe Seraphina is like this.” It hurts me that I h

Matilda I wake up to the news about my sister and Michael's wedding being published all over social media. Not one news outlet didn't have the news on their front page and headlines. I don't know how to feel seeing that the wedding was happening one week from now. I know I should not show my feelings but I start to heave and I inhale before I throw the back of my head against the headboard. I feel my tears leaking out and falling on my cheeks. Although it doesn't matter hurt as much since my sister has already told me that she and Michael had patched things up through sex. Somewhere deep inside of me I know I should already be prepared for something like this. And I believe this is the exact push I need to finally be able to forget about Michael once and for all. I don't feel like leaving my bedroom, let alone step out of the house for my date with Nolan. But I know I can't turn him down and besides, it was I who decided we should meet face to face. Michael can go to hell for all I

Matilda I look at Mina carefully. “My mom came in here? Are you sure she was the only one who'd come into my room yesterday?” Mina nods her head. “Affirmative, Ms. Matilda. I asked the other maids and it was Carla who told me that she only saw your mom, Mrs Hilda enter your room in the afternoon.” I swallow and I smile at Mina before sending her away. I give her a small tip for her discretion and once she leaves my room and closes my door, I slowly sit down on the edge of my bed. I inhale and exhale and I can't stop thinking about Michael. I saw it in his eyes that he might be telling some truths but if I do believe him then it means I think of my sister as not only a liar but a manipulative and cunning person. A small chill shakes my whole body when I even think that my sister can go that far just to make sure that Michael is hers and only hers. I wonder what she will do if she had to find out that Michael and I had something intimate. But I can't also deny the fact that it
