KING LEONIDAS POV There were only a few things that interested me. And even fewer things that I enjoyed. Teaching hard lessons was the only one that fit in both categories. The guards led her out and I watched in indifference. I took in the defeated look on her face and her slumped shoulders. She wasn’t fighting it. Not that she could. Morning came with its own troubles.It was almost done before I’d been able to find some sleep. And as a result, I didn’t wake up at the usual time.The banging on the door was loud and annoying. One that burned through my skin as all my senses came to life. He was threatening me but my body failed to register it as that. "I want me dismantle every inch of you. Piece by piece until you're laid bare right in front of me" his ominous voice pricked at my skin. "Until there's nothing left for you to hide. Until you're nothing" I swallowed harshly.

KING LEONIDAS POV Mornings were the worst part of my days. The air of pretense was so thick it was almost too difficult not to choke on it. Everyone was trying to be productive…or pretending to be serious about their duties. Reports, news, letters, and visitors when I’d rather just be in the silence. I looked up at Richard who I’d been ignoring for the past ten minutes. He knew I didn’t want to speak to him or see anyone but he didn’t budge with the stupid paper he had clutched between his fingers. “You never take a hint” I mumbled and stood up. I walked straight to the drink cabinet but I didn’t grab anything. I just stared at it, contemplating. I’d developed a bad habit. And heavy dependence on alcohol to go through frustrating situations.
