EVELYN’S POVThe air felt stiff and for a minute I froze, my mind distant as his eyes locked on mine. Pulling away from him, I felt his hand on mine, putting my palm back on his chest “Let’s stay this way” he mumbled softly “Even if it’s for a little while” I felt the butterflies form in my stomach, not a hard knot of fear.“But you need to have dinner and head home” I responded, withdrawing from his space. Averting his eyes completely “The noodles’ are getting cold” I stated, taking my bowl of food.“Yes ma’am” he chuckled softly, undoing the apron and putting the hoop through the hanger and taking his meal almost immediately. We ate in silence as I did my best to avoid his questions, eyes and compliments "You’re done eating now, it’s time to go home” I stated the moment he put the empty bowl on the table.I gestured that he hand his plate over to me and when he did, his finger grazed mine slightly but I stayed calm, not letting his touch cause a scene“Why are you so obsessed w

EVELYN’S POVI felt time stop, his head stayed on my thigh “Elroy” I whispered, trying to jolt him awake “El!” I yelled, shrugging harder, there was a light response.“I’m..here” he answered with a raspy voice, trying to lift his head to look at me but he turned his face towards meMy face hovered above his, my heart racing as I feared the worst.“Ar..are you okay?” I asked, almost dialing the emergency line when I felt his hand on my wrist, shaking his head “Fine..I’ll just get a cab then” I continued, tapping my phone to get the nearest and fastest car.Thankfully the quickest car came right in front of me. Lunging towards the car, I propped his body into the back seat, setting his neck on the headrest before getting in.“Crimson dorm” I said to the driver before staring down at my phone “Shit” I mumbled under my haughty breathIt was already 9:30, the gates must already be locked up by now and it takes up to twenty minutes to get back. Think Evelyn, think. I can’t take him to his

ELROY’S POVI’m in the same room with her once again, the last time this happened, I almost couldn’t control myself. Her hair is in an imperfect bun, her hazel colored eyes glimmer even in the dimly lit roomI know pretty well that the aphrodisiac has its effect but not as much as the effect of her messy bun.Round face and delicate body stature which had power over me.“Is the aphrodisiac still talking?” She questioned once more, after I had teased her so many times in under a minute.Just as I wanted to speak, a hard knock on the door distracted us.We both shared an inquisitive glance at each other, she leaned towards the door, her ear to the thin frame and the knock came again.“Babe..” she paused “El…it’s me, open up” her voice came in loudly, it was none other that Tiffany. Evelyn’s mouth opened up as though she was about to speak, I threw my palm over her mouth, pulling her slowly away from the door.“Don’t make a sound” I mouthed, taking my palm away from her mouth and making

Evelyn’s PovThe sight I had just witnessed sent shivers down my spine, but I stood at the door, Mrs Vans standing close to me, her mouth agape with shock. I mean I was shocked as well because I didn’t think that Elroy’s father would be such a man.“You dared to hit Chloe?” she asked with an anger strangled voice I somewhat let go of her hand so she could walk into her home alone. I didn’t dare to wait around, I turned to leave almost immediately when I heard her voice call me.“You’re not leaving Reeds” she said softly, her palm around my wrist I looked to see the woman who I had just been smiling with just two minutes ago, fight back tears “Chloe needs her lessons” she sniffled while Mr Van stood there, hands in his pockets.I held her hand with a reassuring look in my eyes “Alright ma’am” I muttered, squeezing her hand a little. I masked the shock on my face with a faint smile.“I’ll lead you to where she is” Elroy said, gesturing up the stairs towards her room And even though

Evelyn’s PovThe smile etched on his lips made the class roar with excitement, everyone seemed entertained when he introduced himselfAll except Elroy, who raised a brow, scoffing at his introduction and glaring so hard someone would think he planned to kill him.“Settle down students” I said loudly, trying to grab their attention and they did calm down but only after their muse had gone, and had waved them goodbye. The class continued but then it kept on getting hitched by none other than Tiffany who had her hands around Elroy and kept trying to get his attention whilst the lecture was ongoing.“Anything you wanna share with the class miss Sterling?” I asked with my back turned to them as my marker left its marks on the board.“How do you know that I’m the one talking?” She asked obnoxiously, I could tell that she just rolled her eyes further “It might be someone else, professor” she made an in-depth enthusiasm on the title.“No one has such a voice and would use that tone in class..
