As Lucian dragged me away, the pack continued hurling their curses at me.I could not stop myself from looking back, only to see Sophia staring at me. The sorrow in her eyes scared me more than any poison.I closed my eyes.-Once I was in the dungeon, the darkness consumed me completely. I curled up on the cold stone floor as every small movement caused me unbearable pain. It was a reminder that my body was being torn apart.From outside the door came the sounds of branches being snapped as someone walked over them. Then, the bolt on the iron door was slid open.Cyrus stepped inside the cell.In the dim, flickering light, the face that had appeared so stern and virtuous in the daylight now looked malevolent and twisted. Chapter 6

Flames roared over the compound with the stench of blood mixed with the smell of burned fur.A dozen vampires were circling overhead. With every dive, they took another werewolf's life.Marcus, in his massive wolf form, stood in front of the door to the room where Sophia was resting. His back was covered in claw marks, and the blood made it hard to see. Inside the room, Margaret was holding the frail Sophia as she sobbed. My blood went into Sophia's mouth and into her throat.Suddenly, Sophia's body went rigid, and light burst from every pore.
