The exhibition ran its three weeks.The first week had the energy of opening, the concentrated attention of people who had come specifically and with intention. The second week was different, more varied, the visitors a wider mix of people who had heard about the show and come on their own schedule rather than for the event. The third week had a quality I had not anticipated, a kind of settling, the work having been in the space long enough that it had become part of the space, and the people who came in the final days often came more quietly, without the social layer of an event, just to look.I came to the gallery several times during the run.Not every day.
