Lahat ng Kabanata ng Bite: Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

“Miss Blackwood. Clarissa, darling. My office. Now,” Roanna screeches. My blood heats. What am I being taken into the office for? Clarissa not only charged at me, but insulted and slapped me. Three things that go heavily against any sparring rules. Dillon steps toward Roanna, arms spread like he’s going to give her a hug. “Why don’t you head to the office? I can handle this.” Roanna’s pinched nostrils flare. She stares at Clarissa, still lying down on the floor even though she could stand up at any moment, “Mr West, with all due respect, I think you’ve already let this get out of control.” “Olivia—Olivia attacked her!” Clarissa’s friend, Jane, jumps up, and I have to give it to her, she actually looks terrified. When I stare around the class, they all do, except Ryker, and Axel who ran out a second ago. There’s a murmur of agreement between them that I was the aggressor. “What?” I blanch, breathing so hard I fear my lungs may collapse. “That’s not true! She slapped me. She call

Everyone is talking about Olivia. The story of her insane win against Clarissa has spread so far that even people who don’t take Defense and Danger 101 are gossiping about it during lunch.I hide my smile as pride blossoms in my chest. She won wearing my ring. She won as mine.“What are you smiling about?” Talon slides into the seat next to me, holding… a sandwich? Does he even eat sandwiches? Does he eat at all? “Nothing important,” I answer, digging into my own pizza. Usually I scarf it down, but today, I’m so distracted that I can barely manage a tiny bite before my mind flutters back to Olivia. Alpha trained her into a fucking beast. Talon also looks better, which elevates my mood in incredible ways. He stares around the lunch hall, nose slightly wrinkled. “Miss Blackwood’s been here less than 5 hours and she’s already causing a stir,” he observes. “You know you can talk like a fucking person, Tally? No one says ‘causing a stir.’” He slides his eyes over to me, judgme

Worse things have happened. If I keep telling myself that on the way to the sparring room, then maybe I might actually believe it. The council has to know Axel hates me, because why else would they assign him to me? I wish it was Hunter, the literal son of our sparring teacher, but I think they’re banking on Axel killing me. Mind you, this is my first day of school. I hold my breath at the door. Axel is already inside, probably plotting my murder. I can scent his leathery peppermint pheromones, and there’s a sick part of me that is drawn to them. Without thinking too much, I burst into the room. My breath hitches when I catch Axel. The room is dimly lit, and he’s standing by the only open window, faced away and shirtless. Sunlight illuminates the swirls of his tattoos, painted over his toned, muscular back. If I wasn’t so scared, I may have imagined licking every single pattern. The fuck is wrong with me? “Axel,” I greet, dropping my backpack and circling the room. “O

I have to call Alpha Rick. I have to talk to Talon. I have to wipe the image of Axel from my head. The last one seems impossible. Every time I blink, I see his childhood home up in flames. I hear his sister cry. I see his mother’s head, rolling to his feet. Bile rises up my throat, finally forcing me to move. I rush to the bathroom, all my breakfast coming up until I’m gagging and shaking. I wish I could throw up the smell of choking smoke, but I wasn’t the one who choked. Axel was. I wipe my mouth and sit on the toilet floor, contemplating. Was it humans that stormed into his house and did that to his family? I reach for my neck, feeling the already fading bruise. Is that why he did this to me? But that couldn’t have been real… right? Surely my mind played some kind of trick on me. I’ve never even seen his mother or sister, Alex. They were so scared. So desperate to be safe. We took them away from him. The humans. Another wave of nausea crashes over me, and I dry heave into

“Open up, please,” I beg. I shouldn’t be here, but my excitement wasn’t going to let me stay the whole night without telling her what I accomplished. I’m slightly worried she’s going to tell me to fuck off; I haven’t seen her in a week and suddenly I show up at night, but I hear her small feet pad toward the door, and Olivia throws it open, beautiful brown eyes shot wide. I suck in a breath; her blonde hair is in a messy bun, and she’s wearing nothing but shorts and a small, white camisole, her nipples peaked from the cold. I gulp, hoping my dick cooperates long enough not to act sexual toward her. “Can I come in?” I ask, voice low. She eyes me for a moment before stepping aside. As I bound in, she lectures, “You shouldn’t be here.” “I know, I know.” I turn back to her, almost exploding with excitement. “I just wanted to tell you I did it!” Her eyes crinkle adorably. “Did… what?” “260 people attended Ryker’s Wreckers party. 37 got videos of you,” I breathe out. “I got them all
