UNDESERVED ROMANCE WITH MR. BILLIONAIRE のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 71 - チャプター 80

POV: NoraI was nearly at the lift when I heard Richard's mother's heels following me."Nora, "I just kept walking. "Nora, wait." She called. My blood boiled in anger and bitterness as I hit the button for the elevator and faced the doors. My eyes were on fire and my throat was so tight that it was painful. I had kept myself composed inside that room, listening to each word, each humiliation, including the moment Richard stepped between her and me and grabbed my wrist as if I were a danger. I had managed to withstand all of that and I wasn't going to break down in this hallway. However, Elizabeth came and gently rested her hand on my shoulder and my safe walls suddenly collapsed.I turned around as she looked at me and the change was visible on her face. "Nora, please come, " she whispered. She took me by the hand and we walked away from the elevator and the nurses’ station to the small seating area at the end of the corridor. I allowed her since my legs were leading me and I didn't

POV: RichardWe finished signing the discharge papers at 10:30 am.While the doctor explained the care that I needed at home, a nurse was putting the last things from the bedside table into a bag. “Mr Richard, no heavy lifting and change the bandage every other day and one week follow up with the appointment.” The doctor said and I agreed to all that with a nod but really my eyes were on the door.My mom was standing at the window, dressed and ready, her handbag already hanging from her arm. She had come early that day with a car and a totally separate list of instructions from the ones the doctor gave her."I've arranged for the guest room at the family house to be ready, " she informed me. "You'll be doing your recovery there. I'll have Mrs. Eunice do the cooking and the night nurse I've hired will be on call."I stared at her and replied, "No, I'm going back home, Mum. To my penthouse." I said. That had been the last thing she had said, but she would. The nurse wheeled me up to th

POV: Elizabeth JonesI showed up at Celeste a quarter of an hour before the meeting. That was a plan. I'm always the first to arrive. Being the first means I pick the table, decide the seating arrangement and set the mood before the other person even notices coming in. It's the little things that make you keep the upper hand. The waitress had already given me the spot in the corner that I had asked for. A private place and off the main floor, having a type of table where conversations don't go any further from it.I went for sparkling water and checked out the menu without really reading it. My head wasn't really in it.Yesterday at the penthouse had been far from what I had envisioned. In fact, I had gone there expecting to find a woman who would get small. But I found one who stood her ground in my son's living room, and without shouting, she even told me the truth about my son. And Richard had just sat there and let her do it.I put the menu aside. That was never going to happen ag

POV: NoraI found a spot on the quiet end of Meridian Street at 8:15pm and shut the engine off. The street was largely deserted and few cars were parked here and there. In the distance, a few couples were walking their dog. Nobody noticed a woman sitting alone in a black Range Rover with the windows rolled up.That was exactly my reason for choosing it. I glanced in my mirror. Then I checked my phone and saw the message from him. I placed the phone face down on my lap and stared through the windscreen at nothing. This was a plan that I had been sitting on for four days now. Turning it over and looking at it from every angle. Asking myself each morning if I was still willing to do it and each morning returning to the same answer, I convinced myself that this is the right thing to do.Someone knocked at the passenger window. I unlocked the door and opened it and he got in right away.First, I'd heard his name was Daniel, but then, while he was talking, I checked a few things about him

Oma’s POVI realized this about it over the last few days since we got back from the hospital. I had my legs folded under me on the sofa and the tea beside me was getting cold. Richard sat next to me, back against the armrest, with his feet outstretched and eyes half-closed. He wasn't asleep. He never fully slept in the evenings. He just rested calmly.Maya was sleeping in the room down the hall.I looked out at the city through the floor-length windows and kept quiet for a while.Though, an uneasy feeling had been nagging me all day since the morning. I really couldn't figure out what it was. It wasn't fear or even sadness. I have that kind of feeling that struck me some times of having a foresight of a danger looming ahead and I've learned to listen to that feeling. Throughout the day. I wasn't just myself."Richard, " I said."Yes?" he answered without opening his eyes. "I have to ask you something."My intonation was enough to get him to open his eyes as he lifted his head and
