Violet “ Violet Vale Greco, in consideration of the alliance between the Greco family and Aleksei Carmene of the Carmene family…”It's taking every bit of control for me not to gag right now. I had come into Papa’s office because he asked me to pick up the invoices he wanted me to review. The one is precious heir—Marco was supposed to file in two weeks ago. Still, he didn't because he never does anything but take credit for every work I put so much effort into.I thought I was finally getting some respect from papa but a marriage contract, I skimmed through it slowly again, Papa wouldn't want to do this to me, I thought he was finally recognising my effort in this empire. Why would he want to marry me off to his rival’s son?“ What are you doing here?” Marco said leaning on the door.I dropped the file like it burned, my fingers twitching. “ Doing exactly what you are meant to do” I said walking past him “ cleaning your ass while you take credit for it.” I hissed He grabbed my hand

Violet“ V, you have been searching non-stop without letting it go, he doesn't have any digital footprint, he is clean and your investigator already called, he will get back to you,” Rochelle said.“Maybe I should just run away,” I said turning to Rochelle “Your dad will find you in less than an hour, besides just get the engagement sorted out then you figure out what to do before the wedding.” Rochelle kept talking but I was already up picking up my things.“ Just for today, I will go to a hotel and hide out there, if my dad comes in here well, I will be gone. I can't stay for the engagement until I have a plan.” I said.I spied my window and found no guards there, I threw my little bag on the ground and used the rope at the back to climb down. Who would have thought that this rope I used in sneaking out in my childhood would be useful now?I turn to Rochelle her eyes worried. “ Just try and distract them. I will be back after the engagement.”And I jump down from the rope running t

Aleksei We got to the Greco’s estate and I have never been as irritated as I am now, Leonardo wouldn’t stop boasting about his estate and Father seemed to be enabling him just fine.“ Father, can we just get over this?” I whispered to him And he just gave me a tight smile and walked off with Leonardo “ This is the greatest alliance of the century,” Leonardo said to him and they both laughed walking away together.“ Brother in Law… or should I say soon to be brother in law?” Marco called out“ Okay, you know I hate this duchebag, so I’m going to find a drink real quick and let you both talk,” Dmitri said escaping through the crowd Just great! My eyes narrowed towards Marco walking towards me with so much authority. The apple doesn’t seem to fall far from the tree.“ Let’s have a drink.” He says Picking a glass from the waiter passing by, “ Everyone, let’s raise a toast to the man of the hour, may this union bring us abundance and success.” Glass click around “ What do you want M

~VIOLET POV~“In honor of this union, the Carmene family has decided to offer a special wedding gift to my sister and I decided that it would only be fair that we did the same.”Now what the hell is he doing? “To ensure our families are tied by blood and business,” Marco continued, “I am gifting Violet 20% of the Grecos business, effective immediately to Aleksei Carmene.”The room erupted in applause. My breath hitched. He doesn’t have the right to do that, those are my shares! Mine! I got it after my 18th birthday and I have earned it.I stumbled forward but Aleksei held me back.“ You have all the time to further discuss this after today, do not cause a scene.” He said quietly not sparing me a glance“ Excuse me?” I snapped. “ you! Do ! Not! Have a right to tell me what to do.” I hissed, jerking away from him. “ You are the one who got gifted, my shares of my father’s company.” I said Twenty percent? Marco dare gives my share of the company away because he doesn’t want me to be

~VIOLET POV~It's been over an hour and Aleksei still hasn't returned, which meant he was either avoiding me or pretending to be busy, not that I care if he shows but the contract sitting here isn't going to sign itself and I'm not in the mood to be kept waiting.Knock. Knock.“You had the keys to the room when you barged in before, Aleksei. Don’t start acting respectful now,” I said, not turning away from the window. The door creaked open, but the footsteps that followed didn't sound like his, I shouldn't have noticed but he walks like a man fighting a war.“It’s not the Big Bad Wolf, sister-in-law, it's just me, Dmitri.” a voice said lightlyI turned and he was leaning on the doorframe with a silly, boyish grin. “ I came to say hi! “ he saidI stared at him and finally recall his face, the guy from the bar. “ Leave!” I saidHe ignored me and step inside instead “ you don't listen?”I said “I do” he replied “I just don't always obey.”I crossed my arms watching him walk to the arm c
