"Why do you have to be so weak" he muttered huskily when he pulled back briefly. He sounded frustrated and angry. She is still catching her breath when he dived in and started kissing her again. Iris slowly regained her consciousness. She is still lingering between wakefullness and her slumber. The smell of antiseptics is the first thing she registered. And then, she heard people talking. Her eyes are still closed, and she could hear a beeping sound from her right. "She is lucky that she got saved from under all that rumble" a female was saying. Slowly Iris opened her eyes to find a white ceiling and the two chatting nurses beside her bed. One of them noticed that Iris was awake. "Ms. Jones, you are awake. Let me call the doctor for you" one of the nurses rushed out.

"Looks like this family needs discipline" a voice from behind Iris made everyone sit straighter. But that voice made Iris feel so happy, that she almost cried. Xavier Knight stood beside Iris, looking as perfect as ever in his signature suit. Today he is sporting slight beard, which gave him an edge to his polished look. On instinct, Iris grabbed the tip of his jacket from behind, just for comfort. She was so intimidated earlier, that she was about to cry. Now with Xavier here, she felt slightly better. She even moved a step behind Xavier, hiding behind him from so many eyes which felt like they are scanning her worth. Her eyes downcast and tightly holding his jacket, she might look really pathetic.
