Iris stood awkwardly to aside, while Xavier was standing infront of a man who looked old and thin. His left side body is paralyzed, while understood from their conversation that his right side and his left leg recovered from his paralysis just an hour ago. Iris tossed and turned on her bed, but she couldn't fall asleep. The bed was soft and the room was spacious, maybe too big for her. Because she is unable to sleep. She kept remembering what Susan said about Xavier's parents and his childhood. A bitter smile appeared on her lips. In a way, his life seemed to be similar to hers. A prince who was raised as anything but one. At the reminder of her family, she shuddered with uneasiness. Earlier she turned on her mobile phone just for a few minutes to text Sara. But she was stunned to see a dozen missed calls and a text from Candace and Natasha. 'Come to the Jones residence ASAP' the texts read. 'Looks like you have grown up. You are ignoring your family these days' Candace said in one of the voice messages she left. Her voice soft, and hurt. The same tone which used to make Iris feel guilty, it still does. Immediately she turned off the mobile again. Xavier told her to keep her mobile turned off. She should have listened to him.

"Sister, let's hide" Susan said, visibly scared. Iris didn't understand where that sudden fear is coming from. She gathered that Susan knows something which Iris doesn't. As the footsteps amd the voices were approaching closer, Iris didn't ask any questions. Based on Susan's expression, this must be bad. Susan grabbed Iris by her wrist and they both started to run. Susan found a huge boulder. Without thinking she pushed Iris behind the boulder before she joined her. Iris looked at Susan for answers. But Susan shook her head and motioned Iris to stay quiet. The voices grow closer, and Susan started to turn pale. "I saw two women coming this way. Search for them. They might not have gone far" one of the men said. Iris became stiff, and Susan was sweating profusely. Both the woman hid there, without daring to even breath louder. "The one in that dress is my bride" the one who seems to be the head or in charge declared. Iris looked at her knee length sundress and became pale.

"Ha ha ha" Iris heard the laughter of the men behind her. She knows he might catch up sooner than she liked. But she needs a fighting chance. So she ran while searching for something to hurt the brute behind her. Broken branches, small pebbles, she considered them as her possible weapons to hurt the man Chasing after her. But she knows none of them would do enough damage to stop the lord. What more, he might be furious. That might get her killed soon, but that's the best outcome for her. She cannot let this man touch her like that. She is desperate. In her attempt to outrun the man, she took a sharp right which she is sure the man was not expecting. Sure enough, he stumbled to a stop before coming after her. Those precious seconds gave Iris a perfect chance to hide. She found a rock near her feet which she grabbed.
