Chapter 101Aria Blake ~•~ Julian dropped me back at the house. When I went into my bedroom and changed into something more comfortable, I reached for my phone and dialed Samuel’s number. He answered immediately. “I’ve been trying to reach you, Aria. And I know you’ve been ignoring me on purpose,” he complained. “What were you doing?” I pressed a hand to my forehead. “Samuel, please…” “Do you know if it was an emergency?” “You would have sent a text if it were an emergency,” I replied softly. “So why were you calling?” He let out a deep exhale. “So you saw the calls and ignored me?” The disappointment in his voice was palpable. “I didn’t ignore you. I was busy with something,” I answered. “Busy with what?” “It was their first day of school, so I was occupied.” “Isla and Owen?” I nodded even though he couldn’t see me. “Yes.” “Wow,” Samuel muttered. “And you didn’t tell me about it. You didn’t even call me so I could talk to them.” I closed my eyes briefly. There was not

Chapter 103Julian Cross ~•~ “Aria told me about what you did,” I said as I stepped into Harper’s living room. “I have no idea what your motive is, but I promise you that I’ll deal with you if you try anything funny.” Harper immediately stood up from her couch. “Aiden, please go upstairs and change from your school clothes,” she instructed him quietly. Then she turned to look at me. “What are you talking about?” “Why are you trying to rekindle your bond? We both know that you don’t like Aria anymore,” I answered, my voice sharp. “I don’t understand why you showed up at her house unannounced.” Harper replied with a small chuckle. “So she reported it to you or what?” she demanded with a hint of confusion in her voice. “She didn’t report to me. She just asked me for my thoughts.”Harper scoffed. “Okay, but I don’t see any point in you threatening me. And it’s none of your business.” “Everything you do is my business, Harper,” I countered. “And Aria is also my business. You’ve hurt

Chapter 105Aria Blake ~•~ It had been two weeks since I forgave Harper. Most people weren’t pleased with my decision, but I did what was best for me. Harper proved to me that I could trust her again. Well, I couldn’t exactly let my guard down when it came to her, but we could hang out from time to time.Everything had been going great. It was even starting to feel like the old times. I really missed Harper even though I spent most of the previous years resenting her. My phone buzzed, dragging me from my thoughts. Harper and I were meant to go to the mall because she asked me to help her with shopping, so I had to get out of bed. I’d been sitting on the edge of the bed for a few minutes. I let out a deep exhale before I picked up my phone from the bed. My lips curled into a smile when I saw Sophia’s name flashing across the screen. I answered the call quickly. “Hey, baby. I’ve missed you so much,” I said, grinning from ear to ear. “How are you doing?” “I’ve missed you too, Ar

Chapter 107Julian Cross ~•~ I should’ve listened to my gut when it was screaming at me to make sure Aria was at home. The school had called me earlier to say that no one had picked up the kids. They tried to reach Aria, but she wasn’t available. When they called, it was already two hours away from closing time. I also tried to contact Aria, but all my calls went straight to voicemail. I was worried, so I decided to pick the kids up before searching for Aria. But when I got there, one of the teachers told me that Aria had already picked them up. A part of me felt relieved. But when I got back home, I tried calling her again and she didn’t answer. I felt like she was just ignoring me because she was upset, so I decided to let her be for a while. And that was my worst mistake. Aria didn’t pick up the kids from school. “Who do you think would have picked them up? I’ve called your entire family and none of them are with the kids,” I said as I started the car engine. “I honestly

Chapter 109Julian Cross ~•~ I blinked in sheer disbelief. No… that couldn’t be possible. I dragged a hand down my face, hoping I’d seen correctly. Nobody could identify the lady, but I sure as hell identified the car that drove the kids out of the school premises. “Aria…” I whispered to myself. She had gone to the bathroom, so I stood up from the chair. “Thank you for your help. Please send this footage to my email. I’ll take over from here.” The headmaster lifted a brow. “Do you know who took them now?” I nodded, taking multiple deep breaths to steady myself. “Yes, I do. Thank you for your time.” With that, I dashed out of the office. By the time I was half-way close to the bathroom, I saw Aria already walking outside. My jaw clenched. If she was telling the truth about what happened the previous day, then what I saw on the CCTV footage wouldn’t have been possible. “You said you spent the day with Harper, right?” I asked, my eyes locked onto her. She nodded faintly. “Wh
