Chapter 111Aria Blake~•~ Harper kept screaming and saying she was innocent as the police officer escorted her into the backseat of the car. If I didn’t know about all the other things she had done, I would have believed her. But we all knew she would never admit to taking the kids until there was concrete evidence against her. “Do you think she is telling the truth?” Julian asked after the cars drove away. “I can’t believe you’re asking me this,” I muttered under my breath. “Are you having second thoughts?” He shook his head immediately. “No, I’m not having second thoughts. I just want to be careful,” he answered. “I mean, what if she’s telling the truth and we are looking in the wrong direction? Then someone else is out there with our kids, and god knows what they’re doing.” Julian had a point, but I think Harper was lying to get out of the situation. Who else would want to take our kids, and why would they have to frame Harper? It didn’t make sense. Besides, when the polic

Chapter 113Aria Blake ~•~ “Ma’am, where is your husband?” As I heard the officer’s voice, I stood up from the chair immediately. I didn’t bother correcting the officer about Julian not being my husband. “He went out to talk to one of you,” I answered, forcing my voice to sound steady. I had no idea what Julian had told the cops, so I didn’t want them to know that something else was happening. “One of us?” The officer asked, his brows slightly furrowed. “We haven’t seen him.” My lips parted. I instantly knew that Julian had deceived me. He didn’t go outside to talk to the officers, he probably went to the location the kidnappers had sent to him. What was he thinking? “There are a lot of cops here, maybe he talked to someone else,” I lied through my teeth, covering up for him. “I’ll call him and see.” “Sure. Do that. We need to talk to him.” With that, the officer left. I didn’t bother asking him what he wanted to tell Julian. The only thing I was interested in was knowing

Chapter 115Julian Cross ~•~ Daniel asked me to follow him into an abandoned warehouse in the deserted area. For a moment, I hesitated because I was scared of what he might do. At the same time, my kids would be there. Before I could make a decision, he grabbed my arm and forcefully dragged me in the opposite direction. I yanked his hand away. “Stop… you don’t have to use force.” He glared at me. “Don’t you understand what is happening right now? You’re my captive and you would do whatever I say,” he said in a cold tone. “If you don’t listen to me, you’ll only be endangering the lives of your kids.” I took a slow breath. “Fine. I’ll follow you.” He stood beside me, his gun placed on the back of my head as he directed me to walk forward. “And I want you to know that if you lied about the police, I’ll kill you and your kids.” If I had known I was walking into a trap, I would have made better decisions. I wouldn’t have shown up at the location alone. In no time, we got into t

Chapter 117Julian Cross ~•~ I spent about thirty minutes making the recording Daniel wanted. He even had a written script that he wanted me to follow. For the sake of peace, I did exactly as he asked. When I was done, I let out a sharp exhale. A part of me didn’t even blame Daniel for what he was doing. If I were in his shoes, I would have wanted revenge. But he had put me through so much and I expected him to let me go. However, However, Daniel didn’t plan to let me leave the warehouse.I begged him, and even offered to give him whatever he wanted. He refused and told me that money wasn’t the answer to everything. “Okay, can I call Aria and ask her if she has picked up the kids yet?” Daniel scoffed bitterly, his voice echoing through the quiet place. “You don’t trust me? You think everyone is a liar like you?” I rubbed my temple. “I just want to be sure.” It took a while before I was able to convince him to call her. He dialed her number with his phone because he had confi

Chapter 119Aria Blake ~•~ “Samuel, can we do this later?” I groaned. “I’m going to pick up the kids and I don’t want to argue in front of them.” Samuel scoffed from the other end of the line. “It’s always one thing or the other. I don’t even know what’s wrong with you.”My lips parted and I blinked. I sat frozen in the driver’s seat, staring at the dashboard in complete disbelief. Was he serious? After the traumatic week I had, he had the guts to say he had no idea what was wrong with me? Did he even have an ounce of empathy left in his body? The only thing I wanted from him was patience, but he couldn’t help but act weird. A low breath escaped my lips and I held the phone tighter. “I’ve been trying my best to keep you in the loop. A lot is going on over here,” I said with a sigh. “But it’s just as if you want us to be on the phone all the time.” “I just want to talk to my girlfriend. You don’t even have time for me anymore,” he continued, ignoring everything I had just said.
