Chapter 22Aria Blake ~•~ “So your marriage is finally over?” Harper asked through the phone, a hint of sympathy in her voice. I stared at the ceiling, my phone on my chest. “Yeah, I guess so,” I said with a sigh. “Since I left the house, he hasn’t reached out to me.” “Really?” I let out a breath. “Yes, and my mom isn’t making things any easier for me.” Harper let out a chuckle. “You know how that woman can be sometimes, just ignore her.” “I’m trying to, but it’s getting unbearable,” I muttered, rolling onto my side. “And it’s no longer sometimes anymore, it’s all the time.” “She’s just looking out for you, but she's doing it the wrong way.” “Exactly.” I nodded in agreement. “I hope my dad will be more understanding when he returns and sees me at home.” “I’m sure he’ll be.” “I hope so.” The line went silent for a few seconds.
