~Elvira ~ Gabriel walked into the kitchen then, his presence alone pulling the oxygen from the room. He looked impeccable, but there was a wariness under his eyes that hadn’t been there yesterday. Behind him was Cole, his Beta and best friend, who was busy checking something on a digital tablet. Gabriel’s eyes swept the kitchen, stopping on Venessa for a second before landing on me. I didn't look away. I couldn't. I wanted him to see the face of the girl he had kissed, now replaced by someone who had heard every groan and every moan through his office door. His gaze dropped to my wrist, checking the beads, then back to my face. He flinched, almost imperceptibly, at the coldness he found there. "Venessa, go get properly dressed," Gabriel said with a clipped voice. Venessa shot me one last look of hatred before sashaying past Gabriel, her hand lingered on his arm as she passed. He didn't pull away, but he didn't lean in either... He just stood there like a statue.
