Kael’s POV My father, his men and I, arrived at the council of elders’ chamber at almost the same time I didn’t even look at Vivienne who stood pitifully beside my father, too scared to speak. We stood in the compound, waiting for our turn to be called in. The council of elders’ chamber was like a courthouse—where what was wrong and right were decided. A place where a living being would walk into but might never get the chance to walk out of there alive. Different packs frequented there to resolve issues. So, most of the time, it was always crowded and we would have to wait for hours before it would reach our turn. I couldn’t stay calm. I kept pacing, my eyes fixed on the main gate as I anticipated Lucian’s arrival. Each time a car horn blared, or the gates creaked open, my heart would sway, only to get disappointed when I realized it wasn’t him. Damn it. I was running out of patience. Only God knew whatever he was doing to her. “Why the hell is he taking forev

Kael’s POV “Well done, Alpha Lucas. I knew you would make the right choice," Lucian said with a devilish smirk displayed at the corner of his lips. My chest rose and fell heavily, my heart threatening to burst out anytime. “No, Father. You cannot agree with this. It’s absurd!” I said, my eyes pleading with him. He slowly turned to face me, his eyes as red as burning charcoal. “Do you know what’s absurd?” My father said, pointing at me as he took slow and deliberate steps toward me. His voice was low and dangerous. He stared at me like a hungry lion getting ready to pounce on its prey and devour it. Knowing how ruthless my father could be whenever he was angry, I instinctively stepped back, swallowing hard. “You are acting without thinking. If not for you, we wouldn’t be in this situation. So, just shut the fuck up before you complicate matters the more.” “Dare me!” Father roared, his veins bulging violently against his neck. “Say one more word there, and I’ll make you doubt

Lucian's POVFather. It was truly him. I hadn't expected him to show up after vehemently refusing to give his blessings. Before heading to the council of elders chamber, I had gone to my father and narrated everything to him."What? Your sister is pregnant for Alpha Lucas' son?" He asked in disbelief, rising to his feet from his throne where he had sat. "Yes, Father. She is," I confirmed. "No, that can't be possible. How did they meet?" He probed, finding it hard to believe all I had said. "I believe they met at the Lunarcrest Academy. One thing led to another and they fell in love," I explained, watching as my father paced the room. "Damn it!" He yelled, slamming his fist against the table. "How could Vivienne do this to me? How could she have fallen in love with an enemy out of all the men out there?" He lamented, his chest rising and falling as he ran his hand through his hair. "You," he turned to face me. "Did you know about this from the onset? Or did you put her up for

Kael’s POV All heads turned in the direction of where the voice came from, our eyes landing on Father. Father? Was he the one who just said that? Why? Confusion washed over me as I stared keenly at him, trying to figure out what was running through his mind. But no matter how long I stared, his expression remained unreadable. “Alpha Lucas,” one of the Elders spoke. “What do you mean by the union won’t take place? Is there anything you have to say?” Father cleared his throat, adjusting the sleeve of his suit with an unsettling calmness. The entire chamber fell silent, and even the air felt heavier. “Yes, elders. There’s something I need to say before these unions proceed any further,” he answered firmly. I noticed Lucian’s jaw tightened instantly. The smile that was once plastered on his face had disappeared. Though my heart pounded wildly against my ribs as I wondered what Father was up to, I couldn’t help but feel glad about Lucian’s current mood. “Speak the

Aria’s POV I never planned for it to reach that stage. All I had wanted to do was to make Kael jealous... to make him say the words I desperately wanted to hear from him. But the Alphas' fight, the blood oath, Lucian publicly claiming me and Kael’s union to Vivienne getting approved by Alpha Lucas—I never foresaw any of these. It all began when Kael called me while I was in the car with Lucian. At first, when he tried snatching the phone from me, I resisted. But upon realizing how worked up Kael was when he heard his voice, I decided to play along. That moan, I had intentionally let it out. Lucian never touched me. Not even for once. The moment he realized what I was trying to do, he simply played along without questioning me. And Kael, he fell for it completely. I could still remember the fury in his voice. The jealousy... possessiveness. For the first time since I have known Kael, it felt like he actually cared for me. Like he couldn’t stand the thought of seeing me with a
