All Chapters of Love On Ice: Chapter 101 - Chapter 110

*AYANA* How convenient that Eric’s truck had just enough space for the three of them. Jamira thought she was slick trying to stick me and Walt in the car together. She knew I wasn’t driving and, honestly, I wasn’t mad at it. The pizza place we went to was dim but lively. There were families everywhere. Laughs roared through the air, and smiles could be seen all around. It smelled of fresh basil and roasted tomatoes. The food was delicious. I was more of a seafood girl, but I could appreciate a good cheese pull every now and then. Eventually, Jamira stepped away with Kayla and Eric. Walt and I had been so caught up in our conversation that we didn’t realize they were gone until we heard Eric’s competitive ass yelling at another dad over Dance Dance Revolution. “Yeeeaahh! That’s how you do it!” Eric said as he towered over the guy next to him. “No, man. You cheated. Run that back,” the man said, pointing aggressively at the machine. Jamira stood off to the side shaking her hea

*AYANA*“Stop, Walt!” I yelled as he nearly passed my house.“I’ll just turn around.”“Just let me out here.”“This late? Absolutely not.”I smacked my teeth as he turned the car around and pulled up in front of my house. Before he could say another word, I jumped out and sprinted to the front door.I stopped.Took a deep breath. Then knocked. My fingers trembled.Nothing.A few seconds later, I knocked again.“Why the hell are you knocking if you live here?”I closed my eyes.“Shut up, Walt. It’s complicated, okay?”“Well, I can tell you one thing. She ain’t gonna hear that weak-ass knock.”He leaned over my shoulder and started pounding on the door so hard it nearly made me jump.“You woke the whole damn neighborhood!”“Oh, hush.”A second later, my mom opened the door. She looked like she hadn’t slept in weeks.“Mom.”She hurried us inside and locked the door behind us.“Did you see anyone?” she asked, peeking through the blinds.Walt and I exchanged a glance.“No,” I answered. “Di

*JAMIRA* “Ooh, Eric… I think I like this one.” “No, the last one was definitely better.” “But this one has a double oven and French doors.” “Those are so overrated.” I pouted as Eric gently kissed my lips. “Okay, crybaby. Set up an appointment and we’ll go see it in person. If you still like it, we can look into getting it.” I looked up at him. “You really mean it?” “Anything for the mother of my children.” “Children? Eric, we are one and done.” “You say that now,” he said with a smirk. That man always had something up his sleeve. He was so good at hiding it too, so I never knew what was going on inside that head of his. “Mimi, can you help me with my homework?” “Sure. As soon as your uncle chops those vegetables up for me.” “Do it yourself,” he laughed. “You sound like a man who plans to starve tonight.” “Takeout, baby.” “Eric!” Eric got off the couch and walked toward the kitchen, mumbling under his breath as he moved around. I shook my head as Kayla laughed at h

*DEON*“Jasmine rice.”I stared at the shelf. Then at my phone. Then back at the shelf. There were at least six different bags sitting in front of me.How the hell was I supposed to know which one Cheryl wanted?I grabbed my phone and called her.She answered on the fourth ring.“Hello?”“Which rice?”“What?”“You sent me to the store for jasmine rice. There are six different kinds.”“Deon, just get the one we always get.”I looked at the bags again. That didn’t help worth a damn.“Which one do we always get?”She sighed.“The one in the blue bag.”“There are two blue bags.”“Lord have mercy.”“Don’t get mad at me. You’re the one who sent me.”“I sent you for three things.”“And I’m getting all three.”“You’ve been gone almost forty minutes.”“Because apparently rice requires a college degree now.”She laughed.“Get the smaller blue bag.”I grabbed it.“See? That’s all you had to say.”“Do you have the shrimp?”“Yes.”“Tomatoes?”“Yes.”“And don’t come home with anything else.”I look

*KACIE*The house wasn’t empty. It was abandoned.I stood there staring down the hallway. That didn’t make sense.Josh lived here. His mother lived here.Kayla was supposed to be here.“Kayla?”Nothing.I walked back through the rooms.I’d already checked them.I knew I had.But I checked again anyway.Under the beds.Behind the shower curtain.Inside closets.I even opened cabinets that couldn’t fit anything bigger than a damn microwave.Nothing.“Kayla!”My voice cracked.I hurried outside. The backyard was empty.A broken lawn chair sat near the fence.Trash covered part of the grass.I walked around the side of the house.“Josh!”Nothing.I pulled out my phone and called him again.Voicemail.His mother.Voicemail.Again.Voicemail.“Answer the fucking phone!”I hung up and looked around.Someone had to know something. The house next door had two cars in the driveway.I walked over and knocked.Nothing.I knocked again. The curtain moved.I saw it.“Hello?”Nothing.“I know somebo
