CHAPTER EIGHTY THREEETHAN’S POVI had been staring at the same page for what felt like an hour. Nothing was entering my head. The café around me was busy, but not loud enough to be distracting. People were typing on their laptops, talking quietly and occasionally getting up to order more coffee. A few students had books spread across their tables, looking just as miserable as I felt.I sighed and looked down at my notes again. I just couldn’t understand what was there. I reached for my phone instead, hoping Dan had replied to my text. I guess I was wrong. Maybe he was still paranoid about me knowing he went to Boston. I mean, his coach is literally my dad.I shifted my weight to the side and dropped my phone back on the table. I really needed to focus on what was in front of me. My books. I had exams the following day and I couldn’t afford failing them.I flipped through the pages, hoping I’d find interest in reading, but still, I wasn’t settled on why Dan hadn’t replied to my text.
