CASSIEMarcella walked into their meager little house, closing the door she walked over to her husband Victor and threw papers onto his lap. "You can unlock her from the attic, it is done. She must not have a mark on her when we take her to their home. I will be glad when she s gone. Victor you will be responsible for her care until we leave. She better not test me. Cassie's father had relations outside of his marriage with Cassie's real mother. She had died giving birth to Cassie. Her father had brought her home. Marcella raised her as her own child if you call it that. Neither her father nor mother knew that she was aware that she was a half blood. Living in the attic since she was young she found things that were hidden by her father old letters and photographs. Ever since she found the letter and photographs, Cassie understood why the woman she called mother hated her so much she was a constant reminder of her father indiscretions. Marcella was overjoyed she had found someone who would marry Cassie. She would no longer have to look at her and be reminded of what Victor had done. Besides having Cassie marry Nathan their status would rise among their kind. Nathan's parents arrived, but Nathan was not downstairs to greet them. His mother was furious. Lady Laura told the butler to put their bags in their usual chambers."I'm sorry Lady Hawksworth that chamber is no longer available." The butler told her."What do you mean no longer available?" The girl did not see the House Master come onto the room and was standing behind her. He reached out and smacked her on the back of the head, you best leave Susan alone or Lady Cassie will have you dismissed." He told her. The girl rubbed her head then turned to the house master."We will just see about that," she yelled and left the room. The house master helped Susan up then stood with her whole she finished packing her few thing. Then he took her suitcase case for her. Susan walked beside him her head down. "May I have this dance Lady Cassie," he asked. Cassie swollen the lump in her throat and nodded. People moved out of the way as they went to the center of the room. The orchestra seeing Nathan was dancing with his soon to be bride changed the music to a beautiful soft melody. Nathan pulled Cassie into his arm holding her tightly to him. Cassie felt uncomfortable with how tight he was holding her. She did not want to make a scene, but she could hardly breath.Laura and Jake watch from the side. Laura had worried about whether she had made the right choice for Nathon but seeing them together she realized she had made the right choice Nathan seemed smitten with her. Nathan sat in his office with a large goblet of drink from the supply room. He quickly wrote down the thing Cassie would need to go with him. He would have the tailor come and make her clothes. There would be no dress or petty coats. She would have to get use to breeches, linin shirts, and trousers. He would have to make sure she had boots and an overcoat. He sighed smiling. Tonight, had turned out better then he had ever thought it would. He was totally smitten with Cassie. His mother had come to see him before she retired for the evening. She gave him his grandmother diamond ring to give Cassie tomorrow night after coffee. He came to the realization that if he took Cassie he would have to take Susan as well he could not leave her here to be tormented by the other staff. "What is that?" Nathan asked confused."Her mother sent it this morning saying it was her wedding dress."
