I tiptoed to the living room and stood there in the dark. I was scared. What do I do… Do I call Henry? My heart was in my throat. The living room was dark, and I could only see the back of the person standing. Whoever was in this apartment right now either knew the password to the door lock, or the person just guessed that the code was my birthday.My eyes found the lamp on the display shelf. CHAPTER THREE

His hand moved past my face and reached for his phone on the bedside table.I stayed still with my eyes closed. My heart was beating so fast that I could hear the thumping in my chest. Then I slowly opened my eyes to see what the delay was. He was already looking at his phone screen, completely unbothered. It was another level of embarrassment. I hoped that he didn’t see me because my face was already warm.I turned to my side and stared at the wall, hoping that the ground would open and swallow me. He was just reaching for his phone, and I had been lying there holding my breath like a fool.I cleared my throat and pulled the blanket closer. CHAPTER FOUR

I tried to calm myself and control my breathing, but I couldn’t. I walked slowly out of the bathroom. It was like I was having a panic attack. I tried to slowly breathe again.I needed to ask him. The apartment felt bigger at night when I was alone in it. I sat curled up on the couch with my laptop open, and a half-eaten bowl of noodles was already going cold beside me. CHAPTER SEVEN

As my account was taking time to verify, I stood up and paced aggressively around the room. After some time, the account was finally verified. A sudden stillness came over me as I had just crossed a line I should never have. It was now asking for my username and profile picture. I stared at it for a while, then I sat on the floor and breathed.I glanced at the wall clock. It was past ten. The apartment was a mild disaster from my morning rush to work.
