The walk home felt longer than usual.Anaïs carried the small cardboard box containing the few belongings from her desk. She dragged her foot. Every step was heavier than the last, as if she had a lead strapped to the sole of her foot. She had been suspended. She wasn’t fired. Not yet. But suspension was enough to convince everyone she was guilty. And it was only a matter of time before she was fired. Finally, she arrived home. She stopped outside her house and stared at the gate. Normally, she would just walk in, expecting the worst. But today, she just wanted to turn back and never return to this house. She was too exhausted. She pushed open the gate and dragged her body inside, dreading what was to come. The moment she stepped into the living room, her mother looked up. When she saw her she was taken aback. Then she saw the box in her hand and frowned. “You’re back early.” she asked. Anaïs forced a smile. “That's because I was suspended.”She waited for it. At exactly three se

kiss me again

She gasped and covered her mouth. Someone had lied. Someone inside the company had used false evidence to cover for the real thief.Anaïs looked up at him in disbelief.“This…” Her voice trembled. “How did you know that this would help me!”She didn’t think it would be this easy for him to gather evidence for her. Lucero simply shrugged his shoulders. He looked at her reflection on the elevator door.“Use it wisely.”She looked at the documents again. Then back at him. A smile slowly spread across her face, showing her pearly white teeth.“…Thank you.”It wasn’t a forced smile. It was genuine and Bright. For a moment, Lucero forgot where they were. His wolf jumped around happily. If he had a tail it would have been wagging. He cleared his throat and looked away from her.Anaïs looked at the documents again. Then back at him. Anais shifted awkwardly. She felt like she had to repay him for helping her with something this big.She couldn’t buy him anything. What could she possibly bu

Not enough

Lucero didn’t move. His forehead touched hers, but that was all he did. For some reason, he didn’t want to make the first move like he did last time.He wanted to know if she really wanted him like he wanted her. His large palm came to rest on her waist. He stroked her through her clothes with his thumb. The elevator hummed softly as it continued climbing, but neither of them paid it any attention. They where both enthralled by the other person. His gaze remained fixed on Anaïs. His voice was so low it almost sounded pleading. “…Kiss me again.”The words came out softly. Not as an order. Not even As a request.Anaïs’s cheeks flushed crimson. His voice brought her back to the present. She suddenly became aware of where they are.“But…” she started but held back. She glanced at the elevator doors, then back at him.“What if the door stops and someone comes in?” she asked. “They won’t. The door won't stop either.” His answer was immediate. She wasn’t sure why she believed him instan

Scent problems

Anais didn't head straight to the conference room. She went directly to the bathroom as fast as she could. As soon as she closed the door, she could hear footsteps running towards the door after her.She locked the door and leaned on it exhaling deeply. “That was close.” She muttered to herself. “Who’s in there?” She heard a male voice ask on the other end. “ I don’t know but I want to see who it is. Gawwwddd, she smelt so goood.” She heard another male moan at the other end.“Fuck, if I had been quicker. I really want more of that smell. Just a little and it’s enough to drive me crazy.” The voices began to retreat. If Anais had waited another second, the situation would have been very bad. She quickly dug through her bag and took a small bottle. She removed the cap and sprayed herself with it. When she got to her waist, she hesitated for a bit. Then she left her skirt and sprayed between her legs with a red face. “This is all Lucero’s fault.” She grumbled bitterly. Then she

Arrest

Anaïs immediately tried to walk around him but took a step to the side and blocked her again.“What do you want?” she asked in annoyance. She had already been through enough. She didn't need him to make her day worse. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders. “I came to help you.”“I don’t need your help.” she snapped. “You do. You’ve been suspended. Everyone thinks you’re a thief. Only I can fix that.” His voice remained calm and confident. His eyes told her that he was telling the truth. She looked at him suspiciously.“…How?”He stepped closer.“I want you,” he whispered in her ear. Her expression hardened.“What?” she asked in disbelief. “I’ll make one phone call. You’ll have your job back. I can even make everyone apologize to you.” he bragged. Anaïs stared at him as though he had lost his mind. Maybe he had. “I don't agree,” she said in finality. She would rather not have a job than sleep with him. The answer came without hesitation. His smile faded.“You should think carefu

Mistake

Matthew fell in step with Lucero as soon as he got out of the elevator. He began to recite today's schedule until they got to his office. Matthew could tell that his boss was in a very good mood at that moment. His mood wasn't this good when they had just arrived at the company, it only improved when he got out of the elevator. Lucero sat in his chair in his office and Matthew followed. He stood beside Lucero, tablet in hand, calmly listing the day’s schedule.“You have the board meeting at nine. The architects arrive at eleven. Miss Vivian requested another audience tomorrow afternoon. The legal—”Lucero only caught every other sentence. He turned his chair around to face the floor-to-ceiling window. “It was such a beautiful day.” he thought to himself and his lips pulled up, just a tiny bit. His body was sitting behind the desk but His mind was still inside the elevator. He could still feel her Soft and warm lips on his own. The way Anaïs had looked up at him afterward was compl

Touch himself

From that day onwards, the servant began treading on thin ice. Lucero entered his bedroom and loosened his tie. Ever since the day Anais slept over in his room, he began to think that his room was too empty. He frowned. It still felt as though someone should have been there. And he knew who it was. His gaze wandered absentmindedly toward the laundry basket. A familiar piece of fabric peeked out from beneath one of his shirts. He paused. Slowly…He walked over. He had forbidden any of the maids from clearing out her clothes from the laundry basket. His fingers reached inside and pulled out the cloth Anais had worn that day and had forgotten to take it back with her. He stared at it for several seconds. Then, without a single bit of shame, he lifted it to his face and inhaled deeply. His shoulders relaxed almost immediately. When he breathed out, all the frustration and anger flowed out with it. A satisfied rumble vibrated low in his chest. Inside him, his wolf w

You're No Longer My Daughter

The ironic part of life is that, even when your life is falling apart, when it seems that there's nothing good going on for you and you are just…exhausted. The world doesn’t care. Life goes on. People still chatted happily as they walked down the street. Kids still chased each other or chased an animal. Someone is getting proposed to in the park. Someone got a promotion. Someone was out there having the time of their life. Anais sighed as she dragged her eyes away from the couple walking hand in hand. ‘Why couldn’t she have a simple life like that? Must life always throw her a curve ball?’ The voice from the radio announced their next stop. Today Anais didn’t feel like walking and so she took the bus. The bus dropped Anaïs two streets away from her house. She walked the rest of the distance, clutching the brown folder containing everything she and Emma had worked for over the last two days. She felt terrible. Emma had spent a sleepless night trying to help her, a

A Criminal In The Family

The room became eerily quiet. Even the officers exchanged glances. Just like that? Anaïs stared at him. She waited for him to smile and say it was just a joke. A mean prank. To tell everyone it was only anger speaking. He never did. Instead, he looked directly at the officers. “If she’s committed a crime, do your jobs. I can’t have a criminal Im my family.” He said righteously. “Ah.” Was the only word that escaped her lips. She didn’t know how to describe what she felt, but anger was definitely not one. Only disappointment. Her mother’s eyes flashed, then she stepped forward. “It’s not our fault Anais, we are just protecting ourselves. If Alpha Lucero truly cared about you, would you even be standing here?” Anaïs lowered her eyes. Oh? So it was about him? “If he wanted you none of this would have happened.” Her mother continued. Fiona folded her arms, unable to hide the satisfaction dancing in her eyes. “I told you. Men like him don’t choose women like you.
