LOGINAnais has spent her entire life as the unwanted daughter of her pack. Mocked for her curvy figure, ignored by her parents, and constantly overshadowed by her beautiful sister, Fiona, she has learned to endure the cruelty of those around her in silence. The only thing that keeps her going is her secret crush on Damian Blackwood, the pack’s handsome beta. During a grand gathering attended by powerful wolves, Anais unexpectedly enters her first heat. Her rare and intoxicating scent fills the hall, drawing everyone's attention and revealing Damian as her fated mate. For one brief moment, Anais believes her life is about to change. Instead, Damian publicly humiliates her. Disgusted by her appearance and unwilling to be bound to a woman he considers beneath him, Damian rejects her before the entire pack. As Anais struggles through the agony of rejection, her family joins in her humiliation, blaming her for disgracing them. Broken and abandoned, she becomes the target of ridicule from everyone. Just when the night seems beyond saving, fate intervenes. Anais stumbles into the arms of Lucero Blackwood, the feared future Alpha of the powerful Blue Moon Pack. To the shock of everyone present, Lucero protects her, silences her tormentors, and punishes Damian for his actions. But his interest in Anais is far from simple sympathy. While Anais struggles to understand why one of the most powerful wolves in the world is suddenly standing at her side, Lucero has already made a decision. He intends to claim her as his mate and make the entire werewolf world acknowledge her worth. But after a lifetime of being controlled and underestimated, Anais refuses to let anyone decide her future. Anais balanced the tray carefully on one hand, a trick she amused herself with whenever she got the opportunity. She ignored the eyes on her, the wolves that huddled together whispering as soon as she passed by. She heard their giggles, she heard their hushed words, even if they were meters away, but she didn't let any of it bother her. “Look at her. Isn't there something else she could wear?” Her ears tuned to one of the voices. “Why does she have to wear a dress that shows off her boobs like a slut.” “I bet she's just trying to get attention, but she can never be like Fiona.” Another one said. The voices continued maliciously. Anais glanced down at her chsubtly tly. It was not that she wanted to show off her boobs. The dress was a size too small and the chest area was uncomfortable and very tight. Coupled with the fact that she was a 38DD. Anais sighed and quickened her pace away from the gossip group. “Maybe I should have taken that workout more seriously.” she thought. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw another lady, stumbling with a tray in her hand. She zoomed forward, reached out, and helped steady the tray. The others around paused and stared in shock. They didn't expect her to move that fast despite her size. The lady blinked up at Anais. “T-thank you.” She said. Anais' eyes flashed in surprise. Then she smiled and continued on her way. “Careful there. You don't want her eating off the floor like last time.” Someone said behind her and they all burst out laughing. Anais bit her lips, finally arriving at her table. She set her tray down and looked around. Her table was isolated from the rest. Her parents and beloved sister sat all the way to the front while she sat alone at the back. That's how it has always been. Unfortunately for Anais, those girls settled at a table away from her. Anais sat up straighter when she noticed them. When they turned and happened to see her, their faces twisted in disgust. They were her sister's closest friends and so tside-stepped her her for some reason. They rolled their eyes and turned away. “Did you hear the alpha of the Bluemoon pack will arrive with his sons today?” “Oh my gosh really?” another one gushed. Her hand flew to cover her mouth. “Yes! I heard the sons are going to be choosing their partners soon.” “Oh my gosh! Check my hair! make up!! How do I look?” “Relax girl. Even if you look good they wouldn't even look your way. They are high up in the sky while we are a little above the ground.” Another one sighed helplessly. “Alpha of BlueMoon pack.” Anais mused. She had heard of them. They were notorious for their immense power and strict rules. None of the sons of the alpha married or dated anyone who was below their class. In her deep thoughts, Anais didn't notice that her hand was curling around her hair. One of the girls saw this and scoffed. “Even if we don't have a chance, it can never be an ugly fat girl like you.” She rolled her eyes at Anais. Anais paused. Her eyebrows furrowed. She opened her mouth to defend herself— “Oh hey, guys. Don't talk to my sister that way. She has the most beautiful soul.” A figure approached them. They all turned to see a tall, brunette. Anais blushed at her sister's choice of words. “Oh hey, Fiona. We were just telling your sister that the Alpha of the blue moon pack was coming.” one of the girls said. Fiona took a seat beside Anais even when there was an extra seat at the girls' table. “Oh really?” The girls began talking about the alpha and his sons. My sister Fiona, was everyone’s favorite. Not only was she “nice” and “intelligent” she was also pretty. Anais tuned out the discussion around her, she pulled the tray in front of her and began picking at the food. Suddenly there was a commotion around her. She looked up to see a tall figure approaching them. The other girls began arranging their dresses as the figure grew closer. Anais' eyes met those of the figure but only for a split second before he looked away with a subtle raise of his lips. Her heart sped up. He was Damian. The pack's Beta. He was every girl's dream. Tall, handsome, lean but muscular. He was gentle and smiled a lot. That was one of the reasons Anais had a crush on him. Her heartbeat sped up when she noticed that he was approaching her table although his eyes never fell on her again. “Hello ladies,” he said as soon as he got to their table. “Maria, Gloria, Serena….” he called all the ladies by their names until they got to the table she was at. When it got to her, she sucked in her breath, her eyes shining. He hesitates. “Uh… I've forgotten your name,” he said, flashing her a gentle smile. The dimple on his left chin dazzled her eyes. Anais voice softened instinctively as she replied.“It's Ana—” “And Fiona.” Damian skipped Anais and took her sister's hand. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on it. All the ladies swooned. He was a typical Prince Charming. Anais blushed, looking away from them. “One day…one day a man would treat me like that,” she said in her heart. The party went on and Damian and the others went on to greet other tables. They gathered in groups talking. Once again Anais was isolated. Midnight arrived. Slowly, she began to feel strange. She grew increasingly hotter. She raised her hand to fan herself. Her wolf in her head got up and began to pace. She felt it then, a sharp pull against her ribs, and then heat. She froze where she sat. When she realised what was going on her hands tightened around her dress. She had gone into heat. Her scent spilled out and into the surrounding air. Anais prayed no one would notice but that was impossible. The people around her stopped one by one, and they began sniffing, their noses in the air. Conversation halted. “Do you smell that?” “What's that scent?” To make matters worse, the scent grew stronger and stronger, reaching far and wide, all corners of the hall. Anais wanted to bury herself in the sand. The music stopped, and the pack leaders at the front all got up. “I've never—” one started but stopped. “Whose scent is that?” “It's so….unique.” another one whispered. Anais noticed someone in the corner of her eye. She turned to see Damain sniffing the air taking one involuntary step first, then another. He began moving towards her, his eyes closed as he followed the scent. “Mate,” he growled. The crowd gasped. The ladies around gritted their teeth in jealousy for whoever the scent belonged to. The crowd parted automatically for him. Anais couldn't move. She was nervous. ‘Was it her? Was she his mate?’ Her heart sped up in anticipation and also in fear at that thought. Her hands clenched the corner of her dress. She tries her best to keep the smile from slipping. She wanted to squeal, jump, and dance. The moon goddess really loved her. Her crush was about to become her mate. She could finally leave her home where everyone looked down on her. When she joins him and becomes the mate of a beta, people will start to treat her right. Anais noticed people whispering. Damian’s path led directly towards her. The scent was also coming from her. The men around her sniffed greedily. The scent was unique. There was something addictive about it. If not for the setting they would have likely pounced on her. One stepped forward. His mouth wide and drool slipped out of the corner as he stared at Anais with bright eyes. The ladies gathered together, their faces twisted in envy. They whispered about how lucky she was. “That ugly slut, I know she did this on purpose.” That sentence was like cold water dumped on her head. “Thats right. How could she be his mate?” Then Damian stopped. Right in front of her. “Mate,” he muttered with a smile before opening his eyes. For a moment he just stared. As if his mind was trying to process what was happening. Then the realisation hit him. His face twisted. His brows pulled together. His lips pulled upwards not in surprise or happiness. But in disgust. “What the fuck?” He was loud, but his voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. “Why her?” It was the same as being struck by lightning. Anais froze. Everyone froze.Chapter 5“Kneel.”The words fell into the hall like a command from above. The pressure was so powerful that the weaker wolves also fell to their knees, while the strong ones could barely remain standing. The weight of the word settled. Gasps rang out across the hall. The elders stiffened. The air tightened, tension thickened with disbelief.Damian’s head snapped up. He met the eyes of the alpha and his heart dropped. His face morphed into shock. “What?” he breathed out.Lucero narrowed his eyes on him. Those dark orbs seemed to say, “Don't make me repeat myself.”Damian’s jaw flexed. He was so insignificant that the alpha didn't waste words with him. Damian wanted to refuse. It was humiliating. He glanced at Anais. ‘Why did he have to kneel before this fatso?’ he thought in disgust. Anais looked away as soon as her eyes met his.Lucero noticed this little interaction. He shielded Anais from his sight. A flicker of something dangerous crossed his eyes, reminding everyone in the ro
Chapter 4She knew who exactly he was. The realisation hit her before she could stop it. ‘Of all people…it was him.’ A bitter thought spread in her chest. Lucero looked down at the woman with a cold face. Anais sucked in her breath. ‘Was he here to mock her too?’ she asked herself as she took a step back. Fear, indignation, and self-loathing were written all over her face.‘Was he here to witness her humiliation? To laugh? Her finger curled tightly around her dress, her nails digging into her palm. She forced herself to look him in the eye, raising her chin slightly. She had been humiliated enough, one more person would hurt more.“If you want to laugh…” her voice trembled but she didn't back down. “Then go ahead.” For a moment…nothing happened. Gradually, the pressure increased, as if there was an invincible hand pressing down on all of them. It was heavy and commanding. Lucero looked away from the little woman in front of him. He took in her disheveled state. Her ruined makeu
Chapter 3LUCEROHe had received the invitation three days ago; a formal dinner between packs. The meeting was political. Necessary. Waste of time. His father had insisted he attend, saying it was beneficial for the peace and progress of his pack as the next alpha. But he knew better. Now he sat in the private conference, surrounded by older alpha’s expensive liquor and cigarettes, and the daughter of Alpha Bennet elegantly seated across from him. They all chatted and laughed with each other. The woman said something to his father who laughed out loud and praised her.Lucero barely noticed. His attention was solely focused on his phone in his hand hidden under the table. Alpha Bennett had been talking for a minute now. Lucero had not heard any of it. His father’s smile faltered when he saw this.“Lucero.”Lucero slowly, reluctantly dragged his lazy eyes from his phone. “what?”Vivian chuckled politely to lighten the mood. “Father was just asking if you would attend the gathering w
Chapter 2Damian stopped in front of her. He opens his eyes. His face twisted in disgust.“The fuck?” he muttered to himself but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. “Why her?” As soon as he spat out these words the whole room froze. Then their faces curved with mixed reactions. They began to access her, some of them began laughing.“What do you mean “why her?” ’ She’s your mate isn't she?” The young wolf who had stepped forward approached them. He wanted to get closer to take a deeper sniff. His eyes raked around Anais' body. His eyes deepened in desire.“There are so many ladies in the hall but the moon goddess had to choose the ugliest of them all.” Damian snapped, crossing his hands over his chest. His tone rose with each sentence showing his dissatisfaction and disgust for her. There was collective laughter around. “Thats right. Of all the girls it had to be her. It should've been me. I'm prettier.” one of the girls said. Her straight nose was pointed to the sky.Anais but
