The Mate Who Said "Why Her?"

Anais balanced the tray carefully on one hand, a trick she amused herself with whenever she got the opportunity. She ignored the eyes on her, the wolves that huddled together whispering as soon as she passed by. She heard their giggles, she heard their hushed words, even if they were meters away, but she didn't let any of it bother her. “Look at her. Isn't there something else she could wear?” Her ears tuned to one of the voices. “Why does she have to wear a dress that shows off her boobs like a slut.” “I bet she's just trying to get attention, but she can never be like Fiona.” Another one said. The voices continued maliciously. Anais glanced down at her chest subtly. It was not that she wanted to show off her boobs. The dress was a size too small and the chest area was uncomfortable and very tight. Coupled with the fact that she was a 38DD. Anais sighed and quickened her pace away from the gossip group. “Maybe I should have taken that workout more seriously.” she thought.

Rejected Before the Pack

Chapter 2 Damian stopped in front of her. He opens his eyes. His face twisted in disgust. “The fuck?” he muttered to himself but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. “Why her?” As soon as he spat out these words the whole room froze. Then their faces curved with mixed reactions. They began to access her, some of them began laughing. “What do you mean “why her?” ’ She’s your mate isn't she?” The young wolf who had stepped forward approached them. He wanted to get closer to take a deeper sniff. His eyes raked around Anais' body. His eyes deepened in desire. “There are so many ladies in the hall but the moon goddess had to choose the ugliest of them all.” Damian snapped, crossing his hands over his chest. His tone rose with each sentence showing his dissatisfaction and disgust for her. There was collective laughter around. “Thats right. Of all the girls it had to be her. It should've been me. I'm prettier.” one of the girls said. Her straight nose was pointed to the

The Alpha Who Stepped In

Chapter 3 LUCERO He had received the invitation three days ago; a formal dinner between packs. The meeting was political. Necessary... A Waste of time. His father had insisted he attend, saying it was beneficial for the peace and progress of his pack as the next alpha. But he knew better. Now he sat in the private conference, surrounded by older alpha’s expensive liquor and cigarettes, and the daughter of Alpha Bennet elegantly seated across from him. They all chatted and laughed with each other. The woman said something to his father who laughed out loud and praised her. Lucero barely noticed. His attention was solely focused on his phone in his hand hidden under the table. After the single hour of sleep he had gotten a week ago, Lucero hadn't closed his eyes since. His condition was worsening. His wolf paced restless beneath his skin, agitated and vicious. The violence brewing inside him grew stronger with each passing day. Three servants had already run away

Kneel

Chapter 4 She knew who exactly he was. The realisation hit her before she could stop it. ‘Of all people…it was him.’ A bitter thought spread in her chest. This perverted wolf. Lucero looked down at the woman with a cold face. Anais sucked in her breath. ‘Was he here to mock her too?’ she asked herself as she took a step back. Fear, indignation, and self-loathing were written all over her face. ‘Was he here to witness her humiliation? To laugh? Her finger curled tightly around her dress, her nails digging into her palm. She forced herself to look him in the eye, raising her chin slightly. She had been humiliated enough, one more person would hurt more. “If you want to laugh…” her voice trembled but she didn't back down. “Then go ahead.” For a moment…nothing happened. Gradually, the pressure increased, as if there was an invincible hand pressing down on all of them. It was heavy and commanding. Lucero looked away from the little woman in front of him. He too

Come With Me.

Chapter 5 “Kneel.” The words fell into the hall like a command from above. The pressure was so powerful that the weaker wolves also fell to their knees, while the strong ones could barely remain standing. The weight of the word settled. Gasps rang out across the hall. The elders stiffened. The air tightened, tension thickened with disbelief. Damian’s head snapped up. He met the eyes of the alpha and his heart dropped. His face morphed into shock. “What?” he breathed out. Lucero narrowed his eyes on him. Those dark orbs seemed to say, “Don't make me repeat myself.” Damian’s jaw flexed. He was so insignificant that the alpha didn't waste words with him. Damian wanted to refuse. It was humiliating. He glanced at Anais. ‘Why did he have to kneel before this fatso?’ he thought in disgust. Anais looked away as soon as her eyes met his. Lucero noticed this little interaction. He shielded Anais from his sight. A flicker of something dangerous crossed his eyes, remindi

You Can't Leave! Stay the Night

“I’ll make it known to everyone that you are mine. You don’t have to endure again. I’ll take you as my mate.” …Was the exact thing he had said to her. Well, according to the script, she should be in tears already. She should grab his hand, call him sweetly, and agree to whatever he proposes. Then he would take her into his arms, and he would squeeze her tight and take in as much of his scent as he could… Who didn’t want to mate with him? That was his plan. “No.” The word was like a resounding slap to the softness part of his face. There was a pause. He blinked once. Twice. For a moment, he stared at her. His face remained calm, but his mind had gone blank. Wah—No? No? She said NO? The more he thought about it, the more confused and alarmed he became. One of his eyes narrowed while the other twitched twice. This was definitely not how he thought things would go. He had imagined many things happening after he found her. He had imagined her being shoc

Behind Locked Doors

“You should stay the night.” She heard his whisper. His voice was so soft that she almost didn’t catch what he said. Anais stared at the closed door with her lips slightly open. For a second, she couldn't believe what had just happened. Then the realization settled. He wanted her to stay the night, and so he had locked her in. Locked? As in, trapping her here until further notice? Her? The anger and sadness that had been simmering inside her all night finally boiled over. She raised her fist and banged the door. She used all her strength, causing the windows and cupboard to rattle, but the door didn’t budge. “Lucero! Lucero! You come back here and open the door this instant.” She yelled out, but what answered her was the sound of…. An empty hall and retreating footsteps. This further enraged her. "Lucero, open this door! Who do you think you are?!" she shouted. He didn’t turn back. She didn’t even hear his footsteps any longer. That arrogant man had alread

The Woman in the Painting

What did it mean? Was this some kind of painting that had a sad background story attached to it? The more she looked at it, the more it looked as if the girl in the painting hung her head in sadness. The artist had painted it with so much care that it immediately drew attention, and Anais found herself staring at it. Even if she knew this lady wasn’t real, she sighed in envy. This girl had everything she wanted; The golden hair. The graceful posture. The confidence. Everything about the girl seemed beautiful. Except the broken heart; the girl was the complete opposite of herself. A small sigh escaped her lips. "I wish I looked like that." The words came out before she could stop them. After another moment, she reluctantly tore her eyes away from the great beauty on the wall. Anais began wandering around the room. The more she looked, the more she realized something. This wasn't a guest room as she had expected. It was being used. To be more precise, it was still in

The Pervert Alpha Serving Breakfast

Her lungs burned the more air she took in as she ran through the forest. Every step she took was a result of her unwavering willpower. Even if her skin had Ben scratched so badly by branches that they bleed. Even if the wound that had just begun to heal was torn open again. Even when her legs were about to give out. …she didn’t stop running. Because if she did. Then that would be the end of her existence. The cry of an angry wolf drew closer. From the corner of her eyes, she caught the moving figure of a brown wolf, leaping through trees like it were mere ground. Just as she turned her head, the wolf leapt towards her. She raised her hand to block her face when— Knock! knock! Anais shot up from the bed. She was drenched in sweat, her heart still beating from the adrenaline. She raised her hand to her face to see that they were trembling. It felt too real. She swore she could feel the pain. Anais swallowed and looked around the room. For a moment, she thought she wa

Nobody's Dying Today

Someone far from you can't hurt you. It’s only those close to you that can hurt you. Betrayal stems from the shortcomings of someone close to us. Let’s just say that…that night…was the BEST night she had ever had in her life. Anais woke up early the next morning in a very strange position. Her hand was above her head, her legs were spread apart. She smacked her lips as she slowly opened her eyelids. Anais frowned and sat up immediately. She looked around and sighed in relief. No one was around. ‘Damn! That was a very unladylike sleeping position.’ She thought. For a few seconds, she stared at the unfamiliar ceiling. The shirt on her shoulder slipped and fell. This little insignificant movement reminded her of the embarrassment she went through last night. Her face immediately heated up. She slapped both hands over her face and fell back on the bed, screaming in her head. "No." She buried her face in the pillow and rolled around a couple of times. She refused t
