By the time I got over my initial freeze and entered, she was already locked in her room.Even after loitering outside her door for a few minutes, I couldn’t bring myself to knock and just went into my room too.Somehow, I wasn’t even surprised that was what happened. It did nothing to reduce the sting of her rejection, though.That, coupled with the discovery of just how much she still hated me, contributed greatly to my dark mood this gloomy morning.I mean, sure, a part of me understood why she introduced me as her brother that night. She probably just wanted to keep her life outside the cafe private.But still, a larger, less rational part of my mind believed that she did it to hide me out of her life, be it private or public.
