Lahat ng Kabanata ng Fake Dating My Ex’s Rival Hockey Captain : Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

VIOLETTA I was trending before the rink had even cleared out. After my public humiliation, I locked myself inside one of the empty bathrooms beneath the arena, trying… and failing to calm myself down. “You have five minutes in there, Vee,” Ollie called through the door. “Or I’m coming in.” I looked at myself in the mirror. I was a complete mess, yet somehow my mascara hadn’t run and my lip gloss was still perfectly intact. It was ironic. My phone buzzed again. It had to be the thousandth notification since everything happened and even as I had screamed it to myself to not look… I did anyway. The first video had already crossed two million views. And expected they didn’t disappoint, DELUSIONAL NERD CLAIMS HOCKEY STAR IS HER BOYFRIEND. “Veee?!” My stomach twisted and against my better judgment… I opened the comments. You needed to see her face when he had walked away. Stalker much?! Like she could compete with Celeste. The comment was followed by a side-by-side comparis

VIOLETTAFor the first time since last night, I was finally able to get a proper look at him.My eyes trailed up and down his body, from his dark, slightly messy hair to those piercing blue eyes that somehow managed to look both cold and mysterious. How no one had managed to date this ridiculously attractive man baffled me.“Are you just going to stare?” His voice snapped me out of my thoughts.I cleared my throat trying to hide my embarrassment.“Well…” I began awkwardly. “It’s just a proposal that I think could benefit both of us.”“Right.”That wasn’t helpful… not even a little but I was hopeful this would work.So I took another breath, holding back the urge to cast him side eyes, “I kissed you yesterday, which I sincerely apologize for, but now the media is going to run with two different narratives unless… we give them one.”I continued as he corked an eyebrow at me, “I’ve become a joke.” His expression didn’t change. “And your reputation isn’t exactly great either.”“He was dru

VIOLETTACassian had just reached for me when Logan caught my wrist.Okay…?I froze. What the fuck is going on here?It had just been less than twenty-four hours since Logan had stood in front of the entire university and made it painfully clear that he wanted nothing to do with me.He'd humiliated me, destroyed my reputation, and nearly ruined the career I'd worked so hard to build. So what was this stupid charade?“Let go of her, Cassian.” Logan said, through gritted teeth… trying and failing to sound intimidating. The two of them stared at each other as though they were only seconds away from throwing punches.Ollie would have paid good money to be an audience to this spectacle. As much as I hated to admit it, a small part of me couldn’t stop wondering where this version of Logan had been all while I'd begged for the bare minimum.I had spent two years hidden away like some dirty little secret, yet the moment he saw me with someone else, suddenly I was worth claiming. The realizati

VIOLETTAI stared at him still waiting for an answer but Cassian just stared right back, completely unbothered. One second passed and then two.Oh, he really wasn’t going to tell me.“Has anyone ever told you that you’re annoying?” I finally asked, narrowing my eyes at him.“Nah.” He picked up his drink. “They are usually too speechless to talk to me in the first place.”The smugness on his face made me scoff, and this time, he laughed. My eyes remained on him as he lifted his cup to his lips. The man sitting across from me was completely different from the cold, intimidating captain everyone on campus knew… I had expected arrogance and an ego big enough to rival Logan’s, yet somehow, Cassian was just… strange.Quiet…Sarcastic and unfortunately, very easy to look at.The waitress returned with our food, saving me from that dangerous train of thought. We ate quietly for several minutes before Cassian suddenly spoke, breaking the silence, “I’ve thought about your proposal.”My fork stop

CASSIAN“We both know you can do better.” Coach stopped directly in front of me, “I expect you to get your shit together before our next game because I will not let you drag this entire team down with you.”I swallowed whatever argument had been sitting on my tongue.Coach’s opinion of me mattered more than I would ever admit because he had never looked at me the way everyone else back home did. He knew about my family history… saw my fuck ups and every stupid fucking mistake I’d made, yet he had never made me feel worse than I already felt about myself. He’d continued supporting me…believing in me even when I didn’t trust myself and he was the closest thing to a father that I ever had, which made the disappointment on his face harder to stomach.“I understand.”“And?” His expression was still troubled, although he looked calmer now that he’d gotten everything off his chest.I exhaled slowly. “I’ll be on my best behavior.”Coach stared at me… more like glared at me, “On and off the i
