VIOLETTAHeavens knew how badly I wanted to slap the hell out of this sulking man.The music had been turned down unlike when we had first arrived, and the number of people outside had reduced to just the two of us.I wondered what time it was.Thankfully, no one had followed us outside too… I had Nico and Declan to thank for that. The second the front door shut behind us, I rounded on him, “How much did you drink tonight? You do know you are supposed to be my ride home!”A smug smile spread across his face. Was this man bipolar? Just seconds ago, I’d seen the look in his eyes…the same look he’d worn before beating Derek senseless yet the man standing in front of me now looked completely different.“I’m serious!” I whisper-yelled. “What the hell was that back there? I was barely gone for thirty minutes and you were already one second away from knocking Logan unconscious.”“I’m serious!” I whisper-yelled. “What the hell was that back there? I was barely gone for thirty minutes and you

VIOLETTAOllie let out another dramatic scream. He was still staring at my phone with the exact same expression I was wearing when he joked, “We’re never going to use your breakup survival kit because of this man.”That finally drew my attention to the setup he’d prepared I would have seen if we hadn’t been immersed with Cassian.A fluffy blanket was spread across the couch, the opening credits of some terrible horror movie were already rolling on the TV, and the giant tub of chocolate ice cream he’d shoved into my lap sat between us.“I know you have been planning this big on the brighter side, it’s good I haven't broken yet” I replied, taking a scoop of ice cream. “I have a series of exams coming so it won’t even be a good time.”He looked at me as though he was trying to decipher what was going through my mind before asking, “Do you need a shoulder to cry on? I know Logan was kind of your everything so you know it’s okay to do so.”I chuckled at the switch in mood, “I feel numb ab

VIOLETTAThe apology I’d been about to blurt out died on my tongue as I met her glare.Celeste Kensington. She had a grin on her face as she looked down at me.My eyes trailed to Logan. Of course he had to be here… it looked like they had been waiting for me.First it was him, and now that he saw I wasn’t budging, he had brought his future wife to do what? Fight me?LOLA sigh escaped my lips as I ignored them and continued picking up my scattered papers. When I reached for the one she’d earlier stepped on, she was now holding it.What had I done to attract this? She looked down at the cover before letting out a small laugh.I hoped she could see the bored look on my face at her behavior because nothing was funny here.“So…” She held my project between two fingers as though it might stain her manicure. “The charity project can actually get a pass?”Who was this bitch referring to as a charity project?“I’m sorry?”She flashed a sweet smile as she motioned to me, “You, Vee, are the cha

VIOLETTA“Ohhhh…” Every single one of his friends chorused in unison, distracting me temporarily from the fact that the look in his eyes had my heart beating just a little too fast.Cassian was still staring at me with that glint in his eyes when Nico nudged me wiggling his eyebrows, “Someone can’t handle being a second away from his girlfriend.I knew they were teasing, but that didn’t stop my cheeks from flushing bright red in embarrassment.“Shut the fuck up,” Cassian deadpanned before turning back to me. “Red?”I wasn’t sure how I’d managed to stand up without collapsing under all their heated gazes, but somehow, I did.And I was beside Cassian in the blink of an eye… just when I thought I had escaped their teasing comment.Jace called after me, “Take your time!” “Ignore them,” Cassian muttered as he led me down the hallway.I wish it was that easy.Cassian room was the first one upstairs and the only one shut. The moment he opened the door to his room, I was instantly taken back

VIOLETTAOh shit!Oh shit!Someone pinch me, I can’t fucking breathe. What the fuck is going on now?Cassian smirked before mouthing, “Stop overthinking it.”Oh shut up grumpy pants, like I was supposed to be calm when you just stared at me in that manner and told me I cleaned up nice!He tilted his head over slightly, pulling me out of my thoughts again, “Do you think he’s staring at us?”Oh… it was too late to tell my traitorous heart that I have been deceived and it had all been for show.I hope he hadn’t seen my smile fall as I looked past his shoulder in search of my scumbag ex- boyfriend. And of course he was staring. The cherry on top was his fuming girlfriend watching the exchange… it was just too bad I didn’t care.“He is.” I mouthed back.Cassian nodded before leaning down to steal one last chaste kiss from my lips. His teammates barely reacted.Just a few whistles echoed through the locker room before everyone simply went back to prepping for the game. The sound of a shutte
