ANASTASIA'S POV It was another day of school, another Monday. I sighed at the thought of the long week I was about to have, last week was even longer it didn't get better by the day. Today, I chose the finest top I could spot and a pair of bootcut jeans to match before leaving my room. I didn't have to wait for Jed today, I hadn't waited for him in a week. Instead Uriel was parked right outside and I sprinted in her direction the moment I could shut the door without making a sound. This had become my routine, rinse and repeat. Sneaking out of the house in the mornings and sneaking in in the afternoon before everyone to eat scraps n my room lest anyone saw me. It annoyed me to think that I was the only one that had no idea that Zain existed and this hurt, time didn't make it better. Rather it made me feel worthless, I obviously wasn't considered important enough to be alerted to this not even by my own mother. "Hey girl, how are you doing today?" Uriel had a wide smile on he

ANASTASIA'S POV It felt unreal watching Jed hurl words at me with no care in the world. Of course, I had known he was vile and cruel but I didn't think it was this bad. I could feel my cheeks begin to get hot and red and I struggled to keep the tears that were threatening to pour at bay. "Little wonder why you don't have any friends, I can bet you had none in your previous town too. That's why you had to run away because no one would accept you and I bet everyone had seen through your deceit," this was the straw that broke the camel's back. In no time, the tears began to pour and I was sobbing and weeping like a child. I felt my world crumble. After all I had been through, that was the worst thing anyone could ever say to me. I knew Jed was a terrible person but this totally shocked me, I couldn't believe that his heart could be so dark he would ever utter such words to me. I met his gaze and it held nothing but evil. His eyes softened but I was no longer a fool, I couldn't b

JED'S POV Anastasia stormed off leaving I and Zain to face each other, I stared at him for some seconds before walking off. Something about his offer to drive her didn't sit right with me, something about their relationship didn't sit right with me. It felt like there was something more to it and I knew I wasn't over thinking. I pretended not to notice but it was hard not to really, it was hard to not see Zain be extra caring towards Ana. He always defended her and made sure she was doing okay. At first, I told myself I was over thinking it but then Maisie told me about how he made her get off Ana's back and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. Anger filled me as I got in my car and drove home in fuller speed than I had ever done. For a second there, I expected to be flagged down by the police but the coast was clear. No sirens rang out and so I continued with even higher speed. The breeze running through my face was meant to calm me down but I was still

ANASTASIA'S POV Ever since I told Uriel about my relationship with Zain, things had been simpler and easier. I still had to sneak out of the house in the mornings but I no longer had to hide my smile or laughter whenever I was texting Zain. Things had been so peaceful and I was glad my life was finally coming back together. "Class soon babe," I texted Zain. "Babe? Ewww," Uriel's breath tickled my ear and I turned around to find a disgusted look on her face. For the first few days after I told her about our relationship, she was weirded out and couldn't wrap her head around it. I thought the weekend would give her time to process it properly but apparently it didn't. "Calm down, I'm kidding," she burst into laughter. "You look like you would pass out if you hold your breath for one minute," I instinctively let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding. "You scared me." Again she laughed as I stared at her confused. "I'm over it now, I realised the moon goddess put you guys

JED'S POV Zain walked out with Anastasia's hand in his and there was a slight smirk on her face as she turned away. I felt an instant sharp pain in my chest, the game had just started yet it seemed like I had lost woefully. I stood there, confused, all I had tried to do was help her. Without my timely intervention, Lord knows what Maisie and her minions would have done to her. Maisie was to blame for all of this and there was a deep seated anger in me, all she had done since the day Ana resumed school was destroy our relationship and I hated her so much for it. At first, I allowed it but then trust Maisie to take things overboard. The taunts, the laughter, the humiliation: Ana probably thought I had a hand in it. To be fair I allowed it but those were two different things and now I knew better, I knew I needed to apologise, I planned to even. The entire day I had been nervous, stealing glances at her, watching her laugh and smile at Uriel while I put the pieces together in my
