The words of the warrior were nice; they made me feel seen. They made me feel like I was not insignificant. They made me remember that I too deserved attention. It was the next day, and I woke up with a headache. I had cried myself to sleep. But today was the day; it was going to be the day that I was going to be free from it all. It was the day that I was going to leave all of this behind. Today was the day of the Alpha King’s selection. I had not even sat up from bed yet, and I could already hear that a lot was going on outside. It sounded like everyone was busy and doing something.
