Séraphine's pov, My eyes were fixed on the stars in the sky as I remained quiet. That was my way of ignoring Daxter at the moment. But I did not understand why he would not leave even after being ignored. I grew annoyed by his presence and shut my eyes tightly, as I swallowed my frustration. What did I even see in a man like him? He had never for once defended me or taken my side, yet, I yearned for his affection like a thirsty fool in search of water to drink. ‘Can we go for a run? It's been far too long’. Sarah's voice came through my head. ‘Sure’. I replied to her without hesitation, as I needed that. I needed to be away from Daxter. I turned away and left the balcony, heading to my closet. I noticed Daxter's gaze on me as I walked away. To think he would suddenly pay attention to me after months of ignoring me… what was wrong with him?Did my return change everything? I wondered, but something else did not quite settle in for me, and I began to think about it after I got

“Wait, what? Are you trying to tell me Kelly almost poisoned you?”. Zora's eyes widened in shock, before she held my shoulders and asked with a stutter, “Are- are you hurt anywhere?”. I chuckled lightly. “No, Zora. She never succeeded. Something came up, and I fed her the poison instead. But, she had no idea that I was aware of the poison”. I said to her, while assuring her with a smile. Zora didn't look convinced. She continued to stare at me with doubtful eyes. She even went as far as getting up from bed, as she continued to check up on my body. “I am really alright, Zora. There's really nothing for you to worry about”. I said to her, and because she wasn't listening to me, I grabbed her hand. “Stop and look at me”. I said to her. Finally, she stopped panicking, and her pair of green eyes, which were filled with the most sincere love, stared back into my eyes. “Kelly didn't hurt me, Zora. Besides, I let her have a taste of her own medicine. The thing is, I have no idea what the

Kelly's pov, I was stunned when I woke up and found myself on my bed, rather than Séraphine’s room. I thought, maybe it was a dream, but… what was Caleb doing in my dream with that worried expression in his eyes as he stared at me?And… What was the meaning of the story he just told me?“What is going to happen to me now, Caleb?! How- how can I get rid of the tonic in my body!”. I stuttered as I demanded of Caleb. I could not believe what had happened to me. It was yesterday. I remember bringing the tonic Caleb had prepared to Séraphine. My aim was for Séraphine to get fat, useless, and lose her wolf. But I never imagined how everything turned upside-down and backfired against me.It wasn't fair! I didn't remember fainting. And why did she have to feed the tonic to me? She should have gotten me a cup of water instead. I fell to my knees on the ground, as tears streamed down both sides of my cheeks. My heart was pounding violently against my chest, while I felt goosebumps in

Séraphine's pov, ‘What is this? Why do I feel heavy?’. I thought subconsciously, as I felt something on my waist, including perceiving a familiar scent. My eyes slowly opened, and they met Daxter's face. Initially, I thought I was overthinking or hallucinating things… that was why I shut my eyes tightly before opening them again, but even after doing that, what I had seen a second ago did not change, making me feel irritated instantly. Without thinking about the consequences, I pushed Daxter off the bed, and he fell to the ground with a thud and was forced to wake up with a deep groan. I quickly sat up on the bed and pointed my index finger at him with a frown on my face. “What do you think you are doing? What did you do to me?”. I demanded, before taking a glance at my body. I wanted to make sure that nothing wrong was done to me by him. “Ah”. Daxter growled as he stood up from the floor. “What's wrong with you, Séraphine? Why did you push me out of bed?”. He asked me with a f

“What did you just say, Séraphine? You want to leave Alpha Daxter?”. Kelly asked me. Her eyes, wide open in disbelief as she stared at me, almost not believing that someone like me could say such words or make such decisions. I smiled at her. “Have I ever lied to you before, sister?”. I asked her, then sighed in defeat and lowered my head as if in regret.I added right away, after slightly shaking my head, “I have realized, since Daxter doesn't have his eyes fixed on me, I shouldn't push my luck. I plan on leaving his side and allowing another lady to take over my place as Luna”.“No… no way. You- you can't do this, Séraphine. You are Alpha Daxter's rightful Luna. If you leave, do you think there is any other lady out there who is worthy of his favor?”. Kelly held my hands as she asked me. Is she foolish? Didn't she have an idea that the look on her face was not hiding her satisfaction? Or was I so foolish in the past that I could not see this side of her until it was already too la
