As I got closer to the dining room, I halted. Not because I was scared. Not because I was worried about how I was going to please those people, so that they would never mention to me about stepping down as Daxter's wife. But it was actually because I did not want to see those people's faces. I was afraid that I might fail to control the desire to smash their faces like they deserved. I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. I kept a straight face, a high chin, and most especially… my ego was at its peak. “Open the doors, Rita”. I took a cold glance behind me as I ordered Rita, who was standing behind me with the rest of the Omega maidservants. Rita hesitated before she went ahead and opened the doors. Others might not have noticed her hesitation, but I did. Did she think, because she was the head of the Omega maidservants, I did not have the right to order her around?I must have been so soft. Or, did she think my strictness of yesterday had come to a full end? “Please,

“Do you think I am dead? How dare you try to make a life decision on my behalf?”. Daxter asked, with literally all the veins in his body popping out. ‘What is his problem?’. I thought, as I tried to understand the meaning behind his reaction. I was still trying to figure out what his problem was, when he slammed his fists on the table and broke it apart. The sound of plates shattering, filled the air. Mora flinched and instantly rose to her feet. Her husband did the same, with his one-year-old son in his arms. Samuel and the rest were also forced to get up from their seats. But me? I remained sitting, with eyes fixed on Daxter. “I dare anyone to make a decision on my behalf again”. Daxter declared, with his eyes locked against mine. I clenched my fists tightly, trying to force myself to keep cool. I can't bear to lose control right now. “What is the meaning of this, Daxter? What is your problem? Séraphine is incapable of giving you an heir, and since she has agreed to leave, w

“You know, you don't have to do that to Daniel, Daxter. And, Genevieve could be your Luna, you know. I have no objections to that”. I said to Daxter as I went ahead and placed my palm on his muscular arm. Daxter's eyes met mine, before he let go of Daniel, and Daniel fell to the ground, coughing violently as he held onto his chest, and then… his neck. “Father! Are you alright?!”. Genevieve hurried to Daniel's side, crying. A few drops of her tears greeted the floor, and beads of sweat slid down her temples.Daxter grabbed my arm. I blinked, as I was taken by surprise. “Why are you suddenly so eager to leave me, Séraphine? Have you found someone else? Who is he?”. Daxter's eyes darkened as he asked me, with his grip on my arm tightening. I glared at Daxter. Did he think I was some kind of cheap woman who would stoop too low to do such a thing like that? “You are insane”. I said to him. The look on my face, blank.“You see? You have never looked at me in this way before. How can

Séraphine's pov, ‘What a cheap trick’. I thought and decided to finally brush Daxter off my mind. After all, he was not worth the headache. I arrived outside Zora's house with a smile. But, that smile soon faded upon glancing at the door and saw that it was locked. It meant that she wasn't at home. “Now where would she have gone to?”. I ran my fingers through my hair as I said, before I sighed and turned, hoping to go to the one place I believed she would be. Her farm. “What a hassle”. I almost said with a groan, as it felt like a long walk to me. I was just exaggerating anyway. The closer I got to Zora's farm, the busier the street became, with multiple stores stretching over all parts of the street. Little kids were running about with smiles on their faces. Some had fun displaying their fluffy werewolf tails on their butts. While some other children did wrestling and were boasting about who was the strongest. The sweet aroma coming from the restaurant

Daxter's pov, Silas stood in a corner. Eyes wide open in shock, with his mouth slightly open.He was shocked, and so was I.Never in my life did I think I would see something like that. Silas came out of hiding after Séraphine left. He took several steps forward until he stood next to the lifeless body. Seeing the gruesome way he had been killed made me think about Séraphine. Who was she? The Séraphine I knew had never killed anyone before and was always so merciful. So, how was she able to kill someone without batting an eye? How could she kill someone and move like it was nothing? How can I not know my own wife anymore? ‘Daxter, something is definitely wrong somewhere. She's changed. She's completely changed’. Silas said, whereas I continued to stare at the lifeless body, trying to understand if I was hallucinating, or if my mind was deceiving me.‘Has she been hiding her true self from me?’. I thought, because it was difficult for me to believe. How is it possible that a p
