I returned to the building with a sour look on my face. If anything, Daxter's presence had ruined the whole day for me. “You look so down. What happened between you two?”. Zora asked me after I went ahead and sat down next to the window without saying a word. I placed my palm on my forehead and massaged my temple. Then I let out a deep sigh. “It’s nothing, Zora. He just wants me to prepare for Alpha Atlas’ upcoming arrival in our pack”. I forced a smile on my face as I said to her. I did not want to go ahead telling people that I wanted to leave Daxter, even though Zora was not just any person but my best friend. “By the way, you looked so down when I arrived. Did something happen?”. I changed topics and asked Zora, not expecting the look on her face to turn sour almost immediately. Something within me badly wanted to ask her if it was about Kyle. But I held myself back, because I wanted her to be the one who told me about him herself. “It's okay if you don't wan

{Daxter's study}Daxter's pov, ‘I must win her heart back’. I thought, before letting go of the book in my hand. I have not been able to concentrate on work, as Séraphine has been the only person in my head. I could not stop thinking about her. And… Why did I feel so guilty and wretched whenever I faced her? And… What was that blurry image in my head?I sighed in defeat and massaged my forehead. ‘You are thinking of our mate, right?’. Silas asked me. “You already know”. I said to him and ran my fingers through my hair with a sigh. I did not expect that I would get interrupted by a knock on the door. A frown appeared on my face, as I felt her presence. What was she doing here? I wondered with cold eyes. I didn't want to be bothered. “Leave”. I said to her, but rather than leaving, the door to my study opened, and she walked in with a smile on her face.“Greetings to the light of the Red Moon pack”. She said to me. She was Séraphine's younger sister. The look on my face rem

Kyle's pov, “Since she has been found, I suppose you don't need my help anymore. So, what are you doing here? Why did you return to this place?”. I asked Zora. It was night. The sky had darkened significantly and was cold to the bones. At least, for me, who was in a foreign land. I was dressed in black trousers and a loose white shirt, which had an opening at the chest. And both Zora and I… we were standing at the entrance of my mansion, with my back resting against the wall, and my arms wrapped on my abdomen, as I stared at her with a blank expression on my face. A while ago, Zora ran to me for help. She was drenched in her sweat, and even though I was standing some feet away from her, the sound of her heart beat could not escape my ears. At that moment, with desperation in her eyes, she asked for something she had never asked of me before. She wanted me to help her find Séraphine, who had gone missing. What was she thinking when she asked for such a favor from me? Or was sh

Séraphine's pov,“Mm”. My eyes felt heavy, but my head felt heavier. But eventually, I opened my eyes. Though the sight before me shocked me out of my skin and left me thinking. Wasn't I supposed to be in the forest? So, what was I doing here on the bed? And why the hell was Daxter lying beside me and holding onto me? “Ack”. My hands moved, and before I knew it, I had pushed Daxter off the bed, before I quickly sat up and noticed the nightgown I was wearing. I pointed my index finger at Daxter. “What do you think you are doing right now? What did you do to me? And why are you here?”. I asked Daxter. He was groaning and held his chest as he got up to his feet. He raised an eyebrow at me. “Why must you push me every time? I am your husband, so why won't I be with you? Isn't that natural between husband and wife?”. I scoffed, because I found his words… how should I put them? Oh, wait… pathetic. My eyes turned cold. “I remember being in the forest hunting, Daxter. How did I get b

“Zora!”. I ran after Zora and caught up with her in no time after she stumbled against a stone and fell to the ground. “Are you alright, Zora?”. I asked her.“Just leave me be, Séraphine. I am sorry. I mean no disrespect to you. I just want to be alone”. Zora said to me. And she kept trying to avoid making eye contact with me, as tears streamed down both sides of her cheeks. “I am not going anywhere”. I said to her and sat next to her on the ground. While I avoided staring into her eyes, I said to her, “You can cry all you want, Zora. I don't know what you must be feeling right now, so I have no right to stop you from grieving no matter who I am to you. And, you can shout if you are frustrated. You don't have to hold it in. That is… whatever that is troubling you”. Zora sniffed her nose, before she cried out. She didn't hold herself back this time around. The pain in her voice tightened my chest, but I remained still, as I didn't want to interrupt her. This was the first time I
