All Chapters of Wet For Him: Chapter 31 - Chapter 40

I stood outside the secondary safe location and stared at Elias’s message until the screen dimmed. The words stayed clear in my mind. Emma had been moved again. He claimed we had been too slow. Now Adriana wanted something real from me before any new information would be given.Jace came out a few minutes later. He saw my face and knew.“What did he say?”I showed him the phone. He read it in silence. His jaw tightened.“He is playing both sides,” Jace said. “Or he is testing how far you will bend.”“I have to answer,” I replied. “Emma cannot stay in their hands much longer.”We went back inside. My father and Marco listened as I repeated the message. The room grew heavier with every word.My father spoke first. “If you call her she will push for the marriage again. Or something worse.”“I know,” I said. “But silence is not an option anymore.”Jace stood close to me. His presence was steady even though anger rolled off him. “We set terms. You do not agree to anything final on this cal

The message from Elias stayed with me through the rest of the night. One of Adriana’s trusted men wanted out. The youngest of the three we had met at the vineyard house. He was willing to trade real information about Emma’s next location if I met him alone.Jace hated the idea the moment I told him.“Alone is how people disappear,” he said. His voice was low and controlled but the anger underneath was clear. “We have walked into too many of her setups already.”“I know,” I answered. “But every other path has led to empty rooms. If this man is telling the truth we cannot ignore it.”My father listened without speaking at first. When he finally did his words were careful. “Adriana does not keep weak people close. If one of them is willing to turn there must be a strong reason. Or a strong lie.”We argued in quiet circles for more than an hour. In the end the decision stayed with me. I would go. Marco would cover the outer area. Jace would stay close enough to reach me but not close enou

Tobias stood alone under the weak streetlight. He did not hide. He did not approach. He simply watched the warehouse as if he had all the time in the world. The scar along his jaw looked darker in the early light. Even from the camera feed his stillness felt deliberate and dangerous. No one spoke for several seconds.Jace was the first to move. He stepped closer to the monitor. “He wants us to see him. This is a message.”Marco checked the other camera angles. “No additional vehicles in range. No visible backup. Either he is truly alone or the others are better hidden than usual.”My father rubbed a hand over his face. “Tobias does not do anything without purpose. If he is showing himself it means Adriana has given him new orders.”I stared at the screen. The same man who had sat calmly in the vineyard house now stood outside our temporary shelter. The fact that he had found us so quickly made my stomach turn. Every safe place felt temporary. Every wall felt thin.Jace turned to me. “

The live image on Elias’s phone burned into my eyes. The clinic corridor. Bodies on the floor. Marco’s team down. Emma nowhere in sight. The screen went dark a second later but the damage was already done.Tobias recovered faster than I expected. His hand moved toward his weapon.“You were not given that order,” he said to Elias. His voice had lost its usual calm.Elias kept the phone lowered but his stance stayed ready. “Adriana’s instructions changed twenty minutes ago. Scarlett has become more trouble than she is worth. The sister is already gone. The clinic was emptied before your men even entered.”Jace stepped out from the cover of the containers. His weapon was raised and steady. The two men behind Tobias shifted their aim between us.I forced my voice to stay level. “Where is Emma?”Elias looked at me. For a moment something almost like regret crossed his face. “Moved to a secondary site before the attack. Adriana never intended to let you reach her tonight. The video Tobias s

Dawn came slowly. The sky stayed gray longer than usual, as if the day itself was reluctant to begin. I left the apartment while the streets were still mostly empty. Jace had argued hard against me going alone. In the end he agreed to stay at a distance with a clear view of the tower and a ready exit. My father remained with Marco. Trust had become a limited resource and someone had to stay behind. The abandoned clock tower stood at the edge of the old industrial district. Its stone walls were stained by years of rain and neglect. The large clock face near the top had stopped long ago, hands frozen at a time that no longer mattered. A chain link fence surrounded the base but sections had been cut and pulled aside by previous visitors.I stepped through one of the gaps and walked toward the heavy wooden door at the base of the tower. It stood slightly open. The air inside smelled of dust and old metal. Narrow stairs rose in a tight spiral. Weak light filtered through cracks in the wall
