Rose's POVThe weeks after the war were strange. Peaceful, but strange. I'd spent so long fighting, training, surviving, that I'd forgotten what normal felt like. But slowly, I was learning.I spent my mornings with Magnus. Not training, just talking. He told me stories about my mother. About their childhood. About the Old Moon line."She was fierce," Magnus said. "Stubborn. But also kind. She'd give anything to help someone in need.""Like me.""Exactly like you." He smiled. "You have her spirit, Rose. Her fire.""I wish I'd known her.""Me too. But she lives on in you. In your power. Your hope." He squeezed my hand. "That's what matters."I thought about his words long after he left.My mother lived on in me. And I was going to make her proud.---Rose's POVI spent my afternoons with Lyra. We walked by the river. Skipped stones. Laughed about nothing. It felt good

Rose's POVThe morning light filtered through my window, soft and golden. I stretched, feeling the hum pulse gently beneath my skin. It was different now. Not demanding, not urgent. Just present. Peaceful.I dressed quickly and went to the infirmary. There was always work to do. Wolves were still healing from the war. Old wounds. New injuries. The healers did their best, but they couldn't do everything."That's where you come in," Magnus had said. "Your power is special. Use it."I walked through the infirmary. The healers nodded as I passed. They'd come to expect me."Rose." The head healer, a woman named Mira, approached me. "There's a wolf in the back. He was injured in the last battle. The wound won't heal.""Show me."I followed her to the back. A young wolf lay on a cot. His leg was wrapped in bandages. The wound beneath was black-edged. Shadow Wolf wound."His name is Finn," Mira said. "He was a scout. He's been like this for weeks."I knelt beside him. "Finn. Can you hear me?"

Rose's POVThe morning sun rose over the fortress, painting the walls in gold. I stood on the training ground, watching the healers practice. Mira's hands glowed with steady silver light. Edwin was getting stronger. Lyra was learning to focus.I felt a hand on my shoulder. Magnus."You've done well with them," he said. "They're learning quickly.""They have good teachers.""You're a good teacher, Rose. Patient. Kind." He smiled. "Your mother would be proud.""Thank you, Magnus.""Now, come. There's something I want to show you."---Rose's POVI followed Magnus through the fortress. Down winding stairs. Through corridors I'd never seen. He stopped at a heavy wooden door."I've been keeping this from you," he said. "Until you were ready.""Ready for what?"He pushed open the door. Inside was a room filled with scrolls. Books. Artifacts. The walls were covered in paintings of wolves I didn't recognize."This was your mother's," Magnus said. "Her private study. She kept it hidden from ev

Rose's POVThe morning of the unity ceremony dawned bright and clear. The sun streamed through my window, warm and golden. The hum pulsed gently beneath my skin, a quiet rhythm of anticipation.Today, the River Wolves and the Lost Pack would officially become one. One pack. One family. One future.I dressed carefully. A simple tunic. Leather trousers. The pendant around my neck. I looked at myself in the small mirror. The face looking back was different from the one that had stumbled into this territory months ago. Stronger. Calmer. Hopeful.A knock at the door."Come in."Lyra entered. She was already dressed for the ceremony. Her face was bright."Ready?" she asked."No.""Good. Honesty is important." She grinned. "Come on. Everyone's waiting."---Rose's POVThe courtyard was filled with wolves. River Wolves. Lost Pack. Everyone who'd survived. Everyone who'd fought. Everyone who'd hoped.I stood at the front, Aiden on one side. Magnus on the other. Seraphina across from me."We ga

Rose's POVThe morning came with a knock at my door. Sharp. Urgent. I was awake instantly, my hand reaching for the knife on my bedside table."Rose." Aiden's voice. "We need you in the great hall."I dressed quickly and followed him. The hall was quiet. Too quiet. A small group of wolves stood near the entrance. Scouts. Their faces were grim."What's happened?" I asked."A messenger arrived," Aiden said. "From the Iron Claw Pack."I'd heard of them. A large pack to the west. Fierce. Independent. They'd stayed out of the war with the Shadow Wolves."What do they want?""They want to meet with you. The messenger said their Alpha wants to discuss an alliance.""An alliance?""Yes. They've heard about the defeat of the Shadow Wolves. They want to know if the stories are true."I felt the hum pulse. Steady. Curious."Where's the messenger now?""In the eastern courtyard. Under guard.""Let me see him."---Rose's POVThe messenger was a young wolf. Barely older than me. His clothes were d
