Rose's POV

The morning light filtered through my window, soft and golden. I stretched, feeling the hum pulse gently beneath my skin. It was different now. Not demanding, not urgent. Just present. Peaceful.

I dressed quickly and went to the infirmary. There was always work to do. Wolves were still healing from the war. Old wounds. New injuries. The healers did their best, but they couldn't do everything.

"That's where you come in," Magnus had said. "Your power is special. Use it."

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The Gathering of Packs

Rose's POVThe morning after the Stone Heart Pack arrived, I woke with the hum singing. It was different now. Stronger. More hopeful. Like the world itself was waking up.I dressed quickly and went to the great hall. The wolves were already gathering for breakfast. River Wolves. Lost Pack. Iron Claw. Stone Heart. Four packs. One family.Helga was sitting with Torin, discussing strategy. They looked up when I entered."Rose." Torin nodded. "We were just discussing the defenses.""And?""Helga has some ideas. Ways to strengthen the walls. To protect the families.""Good. We need all the help we can get." I sat across from them. "How many warriors did you bring, Helga?""Fifty. Our best. They're ready to fight.""Thank you. That means more than you know."Helga nodded. "We've been alone for too long. It's time to stand together.""Together," I agreed.---Rose's POVThat afternoon, I walked through the fortress. The new warriors were settling in. The Stone Heart Pack was different from t

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The Alliance of Packs

Rose's POVThe morning after Edwin returned, I woke with a new determination. The Void Walkers were coming. The war was far from over. But we had something we hadn't had before. Allies. Hope. Unity.I dressed quickly and went to the great hall. The wolves were already gathering for breakfast. River Wolves. Lost Pack. Iron Claw. They sat together. Ate together. Laughed together. It was beautiful.Torin approached me. "Rose. I've been thinking about our strategy.""And?""We need more allies. The Iron Claw Pack is powerful. But we're not enough. Not against the Void Walkers.""Who else is out there?""There are other packs. Smaller ones. Scattered across the territories. They've been hiding. Surviving. But they're strong. They could help us.""How do we find them?""I have contacts. Old friends. Wolves who owe me favors." He paused. "But reaching them will take time. Time we may not have.""Then we need to move fast. Who's closest?""The Stone Heart Pack. They're a day's journey from he

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The Calm Before The Storm

Rose's POVThe days after the first Void Walker attack settled into a tense rhythm. Training. Planning. Fortifying. The fortress became a machine of war. Wolves everywhere. Warriors drilling. Healers stocking supplies. Families preparing for the worst.I moved through it all like a ghost. Present but not fully there. The hum was constant now. A steady pulse beneath my skin. It connected me to everything. Every wolf. Every emotion. Every fear."You're carrying too much again," Magnus said one morning. We were in the training ground. I'd just finished a session with Gunnar."I'm carrying what I have to.""No. You're carrying what you think you have to." He stepped closer. "You're not responsible for everyone's feelings, Rose. Only your own.""But I can feel them. All of them. The fear. The hope. The desperation.""That's the bloodline. It makes you sensitive to others. But you don't have to absorb their emotions." He met my eyes. "You need to learn to protect yourself. Otherwise, you'll

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The Weight of Leadership

Rose's POVThe days after the first Void Walker attack were heavy. The fortress was quieter. The laughter was gone. Wolves moved through the halls with haunted eyes. The memory of the battle was still fresh.I spent my mornings in the infirmary. Healing the wounded. Mending broken bones. Closing black-edged wounds. The hum was constant now. A steady pulse of exhaustion."You're pushing yourself too hard," Mira said one morning. She was standing beside me, watching as I healed a young warrior's arm."I have to. There are too many wounded.""And there will be more if you burn out." She touched my shoulder. "You need to rest, Rose.""I can't rest. Not with the Void Walkers still out there.""You can't fight if you're exhausted." Her voice was firm. "Rest. That's an order."I opened my mouth to argue. But the words died in my throat. She was right. I was exhausted."Fine," I said. "I'll rest."---Rose's POVI walked to the river that afternoon. The water moved past. The sun was warm on m

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The First Shadow

Rose's POVThe Void Walkers came on the fourth night.I was asleep when the hum screamed. I woke instantly, gasping, my hand already reaching for the knife on my bedside table. The fortress was quiet, but the hum was frantic. Desperate. Warning.I dressed in seconds and ran for the wall.Aiden was already there. So was Torin. Kara. Gunnar. Their faces were tight."What is it?" I asked."Look." Aiden pointed north.Beyond the walls, the forest was dark. But not the darkness of night. This was different. Deeper. It moved. It pulsed."They're here," Torin said. "Not attacking. Not yet. But they're here.""How many?""Too many to count."I felt the hum pulse. Cold. Afraid."Wake everyone," I said. "Get the healers ready. Get the families to the inner keep. We don't have much time."---Rose's POVThe fortress erupted into controlled chaos. Wolves ran to their positions. Warriors grabbed weapons. Healers prepared supplies. Families hurried to the inner keep, children clutched tight to thei

  • REJECTED LUNA RETURNS    The Iron Claw Warriors

Rose's POVThree days after Edwin returned, the Iron Claw Pack arrived.I was on the wall when I saw them. A long line of wolves emerging from the northern forest. Their armor glinted in the morning sun. Their banners flew high. They moved with purpose. With discipline."They're here," I breathed.Aiden appeared beside me. "Torin kept his word.""He did." I felt the hum pulse. Strong. Steady. "Let's go meet them."We walked down to the courtyard. The Iron Claw warriors streamed through the gates. They were magnificent. Tall. Strong. Their eyes sharp and watchful.Torin rode at the front. Not on a horse. On foot. Like the rest of his wolves. He stopped when he saw me."Rose." He bowed his head. "We've come to honor our alliance.""Welcome to our home." I gestured to the fortress. "You and your wolves are under our protection.""We are grateful." He looked around. "This is a good place. Strong. Defensible.""We've worked hard to make it so.""I can see that." He paused. "We have much to
