(RIA'S POV) Mum pinched me at my back, her hand hidden by hideous layers of the heavy wedding gown, “Smile!” Her voice came out sharply as she walked me down the aisle to my impending doom. She and Dad, they are my jailers. Jailers transporting me to life imprisonment. The wedding gown surprisingly fit me snugly in my upper body while the lower part ballons out in a fairytale like rapunzel dress. I hated Rapunzel as a kid. As an adult, now? I hate all Disney princesses. Except Elsa though. Her parents are dead, so that must be freeing. Pink petals thrown on the floor by the flower girls start to look like rotten corpses looking like a glimpse into my future. My ears tune out whatever the little orchestra is playing off to the side, and my eyes water at the vision of hell standing few steps away from me. He is very tall, standing at six foot, five inches, warm sandy blonde hair that looks like Rachel Green from friends reaching up to the nape of his neck in loose waves and b

My hand hovers over the stolen phone in my hand. My Dad had confiscated my phone as one of his reasons to stop me from running away from the wedding. His thought process? I could call a friend and ask them to be my getaway driver.Even though, I don’t have any friends.“Hey! Trying to run away?” Gia’s voice echoes down the long hallway.I quickly shove the stolen phone in my dress.“Right.” I roll my eyes at her.“Do you ever think?” I ask“No, do you ever think?” Gia asks me placing emphasis on the word, ‘you’My eyebrows shrink back, making the hideous silver eyeshadow pop out against my green eyes, “Excuse me?”“Do you have any idea what your reckless move of running out made your father look like? Like a parent who couldn’t control their kids?”I scoffed inwardly. I honestly wanted to laugh at her absurd words but my hand suddenly slipped and the phone within my large dress falls to the floor with a dull crash.Crash!Gia looked at me, her expression changing from angry to suspi

(RIA’S POV)My soul stumbles out of my chest, leaving my body to face this man standing in front of me.What am I supposed to do?To say?!Should I come clean and tell him that he was just conned into getting married to me and we get an annulment, so I can reach Tom?This way though, I risk the possibility of not only disappointing my parents, but becoming a social pariah in the world. Not that I have any friends even though, but the thought of being separated from everyone chills me to the bones. It would be worth it though, because Tom and I will elope and maybe move to Cyprus and then I can build a new life with Tom in Cyprus. But my dad will kill me. Literally. On the other hand, should I play dumb? This way, I keep my parents happy, guests oblivious but walk into the tigers den.Edmond stalks towards me, his large feet covering the safe distance between us with short strides. My feet carries me backwards until my back hits the door.“Do I need to repeat myself, pinna migocolata

(RIA’S POV)I should be dead.I nod shakily to Edmond’s words, my tongue too tied to reply.Edmond Cozen is just like the rumors say.He is terrifying, scary and wicked! And what?I’m supposed to white-wash him? With what chemical? Is there even a chemical for that, because if there isn’t, then I’m screwed.Where is Racquel when you need her? She’s the one who accepted this. Not me.I clutch my wrist shakily, “I understand”I need to avoid his eyes. They are scary. My feet take another step back, only to hit the wall.At this point, I can only pray to melt into the wall.I want to disappear from here.Cos’ seriously, I really drew the short stick in choosing my family. I’ve got a father that hits me whenever he feels like, a mother that emotionally torments me, an elder sister that puts peanuts in my food just to see how long I can take it.Now?A husband promising me a cage worse than death if I cross him.Nobody has it worse than me.I promise you.Edmond scoffs, taking three steps

Who else thinks of death on their wedding night?I’m standing in the middle of Edmond’s freakingly large mansion with two boxes in front of me containing what is supposed to be my clothes.I don’t know how they materialized here or even how my clothes doubled. From what I know, all my belongings in my room will be able to fit into a medium travel box. So why am I staring at two large sized boxes?“Are these all you have?”Edmond’s voice sounds beside me.“Hmm?”I turn my head to look at him. He has already taken off his blazer, hanging it over on his forearm while his right fingers make a quick work of the cufflink on his left wrist.“Do you have only two boxes worth of belongings? Or do I need to send someone to get the rest from your family?” I stare at the boxes, then I stare at him. What should I say? That I’m not sure the boxes may be mine at all?Or maybe it’s from one of his competitors and it may contain a bomb?He shakes his head, “I don’t want your family members in my hou
