Wilhemina-“I can’t believe that son-of-a-bitch hit me.”My fingers instinctively drifted toward my cheek. The swelling had gone down considerably, but the skin was still tender beneath my makeup. I stared blankly at the financial report sitting on my desk.“I’ve seen two-year-olds with better acting skills than that bitch’s, and his dumbass just...”I leaned back in my chair and released a long breath.“Whatever. Fuck her and fuck him.”Knock. Knock. I immediately straightened.“Come in.”The door opened.“Welcome back!”I smiled as Clara walked inside.“Morning, Clara. Good to be back.”Her eyes traveled over me, then narrowed.“I don’t know...” Her lips curled. “You look...well rested.”I burst out laughing.“Shut up!”“Nope!”She closed the door and practically raced toward my desk.“I want details. Pictures. Everything! How was Elko?”My entire mood changed.“Oh my gosh! You sound like Deena.” I laughed as I grabbed my phone. “I had such an amazing time! I almost didn’t come bac

Third Person POV—Wilhemina FocusWilhemina stared into the mirror as she fastened the diamond earring Azrael brought her into place.Tonight was the night. After weeks of preparation, hundreds of phone calls, dozens of meetings, countless revised guest lists and one ridiculously expensive argument about champagne...the R&S Gala had finally arrived. Her gown hugged her figure beautifully before cascading toward the floor. Her hair had been styled elegantly away from her face, allowing the diamonds at her ears and neck to sparkle beneath the bedroom lights. She looked beautiful. Powerful and most importantly...happy.“Well...don't you look beautiful.”Wilhemina jumped.“Jesus!”She spun around. Emilio stood in the doorway. For several seconds, neither spoke. It had been more than two weeks since she'd seen him. After that morning...after he'd slapped her...Emilio and Yazmin had left the estate shortly afterward. When Wilhemina returned the following Sunday, George informed her that neit

Emilio-Azrael fucking Valchini. For several seconds after Wilhemina announced his name, I couldn't move. I couldn't fucking breathe. The ballroom exploded around me. Gasps. Applause. Shouts. Cameras flashing from every direction as the massive doors opened and Azrael walked through them like he fucking owned the building.FUCK! The rumors had been true. Azrael Valchini was back in Central. But that wasn't what sent panic ripping through my chest. It was where he was going.Straight toward the stage. Straight toward...my wife. My eyes snapped toward Wilhemina. She was smiling like some fucking cheshire cat! And then...Azrael climbed the steps, opened his arms and Wilhemina stepped directly into them. What the fuck?My blood ran cold before fury replaced it. R&S's mysterious investor. None other than the CEO of Skyline. Azrael fucking Valchini had somehow become my wife's investor. Her newest board member and her fucking business partner!Had she known? My jaw clenched. Had Wilhemina d

Wilhemina POV-Warm breath brushed against my neck. I smiled before opening my eyes.Soft morning light peeked through the blinds, casting thin golden lines across my bedroom. The sheets were sprawled around us, one barely covering my legs while Azrael's arm remained wrapped securely around my waist. He was still asleep.I remained perfectly still, lightly caressing the back of his hand.Last night had been...amazing.After leaving the gala, I'd entered through the penthouse's main entrance while Azrael had gone directly into the private garage.Neither of us realized the other had arrived until our separate elevators opened simultaneously. As soon as we stepped out, we both stopped. Then burst into laughter.“Well...” Azrael slowly walked toward me. “Fancy meeting you here, Ms. Rucci.”My lips curled as I approached him.“I was just thinking the same thing, Mr. Valchini.” I raised a brow. “You wouldn't happen to be following me...are you?”His laugh sent an instant chill down my spin

Azrael POV[Cillian: Don, the package has arrived. We've secured him at the designated location. Awaiting your instructions.]I stared at the message for what had to be the fifth time since leaving Wilhemina's office.Seven years. Seven fucking years and finally...one of the bastards responsible for destroying my family was within my reach.“Vincent.”“Yes, Don?”“How much longer?”“Approximately fifteen minutes. Cillian confirmed the location is secure.”I nodded, leaning back against the leather seat as the countryside passed beyond the tinted windows. My fingers slowly curled into a fist.Fifteen minutes. After seven years of searching, fifteen minutes should have meant nothing. Yet every second felt like an eternity.I closed my eyes. For one brief moment, I could still smell Wilhemina's perfume. Still feel her arms around my neck. Still hear her beautiful voice.I'll see you tonight at home.Home.Such a simple fucking word, and one I hadn't associated with happiness in seven year
