The Alpha's Fallen Angel

I was sitting at my desk working on pack business and looking through what meetings I needed to attend on Monday at the office.  We had several businesses located in the human city.  My father owns most of the hotels in the city, while my beta Kendrick, my gamma Eddie, and I had started several restaurants in the city as well.  They had all become very successful, and between the three of us, we were doing well.  Our pack, which is the Midnight Forest Pack, is the sole pack in South Carolina.  We are allied with three packs: the Caldonia Pack, the sole pack in North Carolina, the Coastal Current Pack, and the Northern Celestial Pack.  Those two packs share the state of Georgia.  This entire region has been stable, with very few issues with rogues.  Most of the rogues are passing through and cause no problems.  I know a rogue pack has been forming on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee for the last three years.  I have heard that they are still small in numbers, and their self-appointed Alpha is a sadistic asshole. It has been a while since I heard from Luke and Carter.  Carter is the son of the Alpha of the Northern Celestial pack, and Luke is the beta’s son.  I know that Luke has a sister, but I haven’t seen her in years.  I know that Carter’s older brother Morrison was supposed to take over the pack at some point, but from what I heard, their father deemed him unstable and had decided to hand the pack over to Carter.  The last I had heard was that Morrison had disappeared that was three or four years ago.

“Good God man, are you still working?”  Eddie asked.

“Yes, I am so glad you learned how to knock.” I retort. 

“Well hurry up.  Kendrick and I think that it’s time that the three of us have a guys night out.  The fact that Kayssia and Yvette are visiting our cousin made our decision easier.”  Eddie adds.

I let out a chuckle as he says this.  He does make a strong point.  My sister Kayssia and her best friend Yvette, Eddie’s younger sister, would have come with us regardless of whether we wanted them there.  You can definitely tell that my sister is the daughter of an alpha.  I love her, but damn she is outspoken and stubborn.  I guess it could be worse, and she could be one of those stuck-up, self-centred alphas daughters.  Eddie and I walk out of my office and head up the stairs to my floor.  Our packhouse is huge.  It has three floors.  When I find her, the top floor is mine and my mates.  I let out a sigh.  I am 23, and I still haven’t found my mate.  I am positive that she is in the Northern Celestial Pack, and I am going to visit them next month.  Hopefully, I will find her then.

I answer my phone after both Kendrick's, and Eddie’s phones start blowing up.  We have been at the bar for two hours, and something is happening.  I look down to see my mother's number.  I know if she is calling that something bad has happened.  I look at the other two showing them who is calling as I push the button to pick up the call.  I can hear my mother cry hysterically, but nothing she is saying makes sense.  I look up to see Kendrick on his phone.  I listen to my mother and watch as all the colour drains from Kendrick’s face. 

-We need to get back to the pack now-Kendrick

-What is going on?-Me

-A guy was brought into the hospital, and Jarvis said it looked like Myles-Kendrick

-What the fuck?-Eddie

-I don’t know, but Jarvis says that he is in bad shape-Kendrick

Kendrick ends the mind link, and the three of us stand up.  Thank god that we can mind link each other because you can't hear anything anyone says in this damn club. I had to hang up on mom since I couldn’t understand anything she was saying.  I tried to link dad, but he has a wall up, which is a huge red flag.  Dad has never put up a wall when I am linking him unless he and mom are in their room together.  I don’t even want to think about that.  We climb into Eddie’s SUV and take off towards the pack.  We roll to a stop in front of the pack hospital and run inside.  Mom, Keith, who is Eddie’s dad, and Harry, who is Kendrick's dad, are there in the waiting room.  

“What is going on?” I asked.

“Border patrol found a severely injured wolf about an hour ago.  They knew he wasn’t a rogue by his scent, which they recognized.  When they carried him in he was still in his wolf form and the doctor had to force a shift.  I couldn’t tell who it was because of all his injuries.”  Harry states.

“Jarvis saw him when they were transporting him to surgery and he believes it was Myles.”  Keith adds.

“Your father and a large number of warriors headed to the Northern Celestial pack not long after.  They were attacked and no one knows what the hell is going on.  Alpha Barrett and Alpha Vernon are also headed there to see what the fuck is going on.  They also took some warriors with them just in case.”  Harry explains.

I lean on the wall and slide down.  Fuck I hope Luke and Carter escaped.  I hear Eddie on his phone and look up to see him let out a sigh of relief.  He says that he has Carter on the phone and that he and Luke are alright.  I tell him to tell them to head to our pack and that we will explain everything when they get here.  Eddie says that they will be here in two hours.  I decide to wait and call dad.  It takes at least an hour and a half to get to the packhouse there.  We ask the doctor to inform us of Myles's condition and return to the packhouse.  Kendrick, Eddie, and I wait for Luke and Carter to arrive.  The others head to bed.  We all jump when there is a loud knock on the door.  Eddie stands up and answers the door.

“What the fuck is going on?”  Carter growls.

I explained what had happened and everything that we knew.  I tell them that dad had called about half an hour ago and said that they had just gotten to the packhouse along with Alpha Vernon.  Alpha Barrett was already there, and dad had told me that from what he could see that it was total annihilation.  I let them know that dad would call me back when they had the chance to see what the hell had happened and if there were any survivors.  Luke and Carter both dropped onto the couch.  Luke buried his face in his hands and let out a growl of pain.  Eddie explained to them about Myles and said that we still hadn’t heard anything about his condition.

“The doctor will keep up updated on his condition,”  I say.

“Fuck what about Aliya?”  Carter comments.

“Shit I need to get to the pack now,”  Luke says.

He jumps up, but Carter grabs him and pulls him back down.  I can see the tears that are threatening to spill in Luke’s eyes.

“Who is Aliya?”  Kendrick asks.

“Aliya or Ali as she wants to be called is my baby sister, well she is 19 so not a baby anymore, she was supposed to be visiting dad this weekend.  God, I hope she wasn’t there or escaped.”  Luke answers.

I can feel his pain.  I have no idea what I would do if Kalyssia were in that situation.  I would probably be panicked.  Eddie also knows what it is like to have a younger sister, so I am sure he can relate to how Luke is feeling.  I see Luke take out his phone and try calling and texting her.  

I guess it goes to voice mail, and she isn’t responding to his text. I tell him there is nothing we can do about it tonight and show them to a couple of guest rooms on the top floor.  I walk into my room, shut the door, and let out a growl.  I know my mate was in that pack.  We had never met, but I had picked up her scent the last time I was there.  I know we had touched hands accidentally, but I still was not able to find her.  I could feel the bond starting between us, so I knew she was not killed.  That in itself gave me hope that she would be found by dad.  I lay down on my bed because all I could do now was wait for dad to call.
