Jennifer’s POV

It took just one day for my life to take a hundred eighty degrees turn towards disaster. Two big men gripped my hands, leaving bruises on my arms. I tried to free myself with all my might, but to no avail. Tears ran down my cheek, and I begged for mercy from them.

“Auntie, please don’t do this. As long as you don’t do this to me, I will do anything for you.” I still hope she would change her mind and these two bodyguards didn’t take me away with them. My body was shaking and sweating. I felt my world collapse.

‘Who are they? Why is she doing this to me?’

Aunt Linda walked closer to me while smiling. And I just realized that the look in her eyes differed from the usual look. My heart was beating quite fast, my palms sweat cold. Fear haunted my feelings and thoughts. She stood right in front of me, saying, “Do you want your uncle to die? If you don’t want him to die, then go with Mr. Jason.”

When she gave me a choice, it was like standing at the end of a wooden plank with the other side facing the sea, the deep blue sea. I couldn’t choose. I didn’t want Uncle Peter to die, but I also didn’t want to go with those men.

‘Is this the fate I have to face? Is this the future that lies before me?’

“No, I don’t want uncle to die. I love him.” I shook my head, which caused my brown hair to fall in front of my face and obscure my vision. It was the temporary relief from seeing the nasty look on my aunt’s face.

Tears kept running down my cheeks. As time went on, my eyesight became blurry because of the amount of tears that came out. My body was shaking and my legs felt weak. The energy that was originally strong enough to rebel now was gone somewhere. My mind was confused and fear took over me. My tongue was stiff, and it was hard to refute all of my aunt’s words.

Aunt Linda immediately approached a man she called Mr. Woods. From his appearance, he seemed to be the boss of these two bodyguards. He still looked handsome in his middle age. He has sharp eyes, with thick eyebrows, thin pink lips, and a good body shape. Aunt Linda stood beside him. With sparkling eyes like kids received something they wanted. That’s what the look on her face showed. She asked for the money from him.

I saw Mr. Woods press some numbers on his cell phone and a few seconds later, the agreed amount of money went into Aunt Linda’s bank account.

Aunt Linda’s eyes lit up and her lips broke into a wide smile. She asked Sonya, my cousin, to come closer to her. Then, both of them rushed to check the contents of Aunt Linda’s bank account. And a few seconds later, they burst out laughing. I still hope that at least they still had compassion for me. However, seeing the laughter on their faces, my hopes were dashed.

“She is all yours.” Aunt Linda said, smiling and looking at me.

The two bodyguards dragged me along with them. I was screaming, pleading with my aunt one last time.

“Aunty, please,” I cried. But she ignored my cries.

“Don’t cry anymore. You’ll be fine. Mr. Woods will take good care of you.” Aunt Linda and Sonya laughed out loud as they waved at me.

Hearing their answers, I gave up, even though fear haunted me, but I had no choice and was helpless. The future and dreams that I had been knitting for so long I had to bury, all for the sake of my uncle who was lying sick in the hospital waiting for a large amount of money for his lung cancer surgery. What an enormous price I have to trade for my future.

That was a year ago,

At present, in the winter afternoon. I stood in front of a large dark green door with gold door handles that looked distinctive among the doors of the Pleasure Brothel rooms. I knocked a few times before Jason Woods, my boss, finally let me in.

“Sir,” I came in and closed the door.

“Please have a seat.” He said, I sat across from him.

“What do you want to talk to me about?” I asked as I folded my arms on the table and looked seriously at his face.

“My dear girl, I have a very important order for you in the mansion on the edge of town. A number one billionaire in Valxina City wants you to serve him tonight. Dean will take you there. Give him your best service,” Jason smiled while stroking my hands.

“Okay. I’ll get ready now.” I replied and gave him a kiss bye, then walked out of his room.

Arriving in my room, I sat on the edge of the bed and took a deep breath.

‘Ok, let’s do it,’

Half an hour later, I was outside the Pleasure Brothel, waiting for Dean to pick me up. I wore a black V-neck dress which was embellished with glossy black high heels and a brown long jacket. I let my brown hair down. The pink lipstick that covered my lips showed my beauty and sexiness.

When Dean’s car stopped right in front of me, Jason got out and kissed me on the cheek.

“Enjoy your work and do your best.” Jason hugged and kissed my forehead.

“I’m going now.” I got in the car and waved at him. I leaned back in my chair, enjoying the beautiful night view.

The journey from Pleasure Brothel to the customer’s mansion was about forty minutes. And to reach the mansion, Dean had to pass through a pine forest that wasn’t too wide and just looked scary at night.

“Dean, isn’t there another way to the mansion?” I asked as I took the blanket that was available beside me and hurriedly covered my body with the blanket.

“Nothing, Miss. This is the only way. We’ll be there soon.” Dean stepped on the gas pedal deeper to speed up the car.

A few minutes later, our car arrived at the mansion. Dean parked the car right there in front of the entrance of a large and tall mansion. Two maids waited for me at the entrance.

“Welcome, Miss. Please come with us. Young master is waiting for you.” A skinny maid invited me to come with her to the VIP room.
