If you are looking for good creepypasta x reader fics, check out some of the authors on AO3 or Wattpad who write about Slenderman or Jeff the Killer. Their work does a great job of capturing the unique and often very personal kind of horror that they are known for. For an extremely immersive ‘you’re there’ kind of story with a very different flavor, check out the collected stories in ‘YOURS STEPDADDY’. These stories are all second-person narrative, so you can experience them as if you were actually in the story, which can be intense. Each of the stories features a dominant stepped-daddy character and the restraints and tension are focused on the step-daddy/you dynamic.

I am a huge fan of classics, especially 'Ben Drowned' x reader. One of the fics that really holds up is 'You Shouldn’t Have Played Alone'. It is written in a great pace, with cryptic forum logs in between chapters. I also really like how the writer recreates the old creepypasta forum vibe, and how you feel like you shouldn’t be reading it. It would also be really great if the entity slowly infiltrated the reader’s life, through things like random texts from unknown numbers and strained/ distorted music.

Red Strings by dipheria is another Laughing Jack x reader fic. This one is extremely short but powerful and it has some amazing descriptions of colors melting together. The ending is also a really nice twist – it gets a Chef’s kiss from me. As with the best creepypasta fics, this one makes the familiar strange.

I really love “Patchwork Stitches” which is a Sally x reader fic written in an eerie domestic horror style. So the reader is stuck in a dollhouse room of Sally’s and she alternates between being really nice and kind of terrifying – like when she’s making clothes for the reader out of not entirely wholesome materials.

I also recently re-read ‘Static Embrace’ by Ticci Toby. This Sally x reader story is set in an alternative universe where the reader is a radio host, picking up increasingly distorted broadcasts of his boyfriend. A beautifully odd and unsettling blend of horror and romance, it’s a great example of fics that balance the monstrous with the alluring weirdness of them – extremely compelling to read, but you know you should run away as soon as you start.

Guilty pleasure alert! I've been devouring creepypasta x reader fics recently, and there's one I just couldn't put down. 'Whispers in the Static' is a Slender Man story where the reader slowly realizes they're chatting with a digital entity. So atmospheric and tense as the reader slowly realizes what's going on, and the way the author incorporates glitchy text into the actual story is pure genius.

I also recently read ‘Hollow Eyes’ by MapleStarDesigns - another amazingly great Creepypasta inspired x reader fic. Jeff the Killer is usually written more for horror fans with loads of gore in them. But this story focuses much more on the psychological horror. The story is written as if the x reader is trapped in a weird and creepy dream. Jeff is always out of focus in the dream but you can always hear him. His laughter is even echoed down long, creepy halls. It’s very immersive and it really gave me chills while reading it.

What are the best Gallagher x reader fanfictions?

‘The Devil You Know’ is another under-read FAUSTIAN BARGAIN AU where the reader is Gallagher and it’s surprisingly dark and witty and sort of romantic too. ‘Last Call’ is a straight-up ‘strangers to lovers’ bar hook-up story, but it’s so classic and perfect that I had to include it too. Both of these make me happy. Tag ‘Gallagher needs a hug’.

What are the best kankuro x kiba fanfiction with character growth?

4 Answers2026-07-04
Good luck. Finding an author who can write both characters well is relatively rare, so start by looking at the bookmarks of good authors for either character. Sometimes they’ve written a one-shot for the other character. I once read a fairly good short story in which Kiba and Kankuro were both sensei to a new generation of genin. They had different methods of teaching, and the story followed them as respect for each other’s professionalism turned into something more. It had nice moments of Kiba coming to an understanding of Kankuro’s puppet-perfectionism, but I forgot the author’s name.

What are the best kyoshi x rangi fanfiction stories to read?

Honestly, I think you have to start with 'The Heart's On Fire' on AO3. It’s not just a collection of sweet moments; it builds out their post-canon life in a way that feels completely plausible, with all the political tension and personal loyalty you’d expect. The author nails Kyoshi’s voice—that careful, heavy sense of duty—and contrasts it so well with Rangi’s fierce, focused protectiveness. They don’t shy away from the arguments either, the kind that come from two people who are utterly devoted but also stubborn as hell. Another one I keep going back to is 'Smoke and Stone.' It’s a canon-divergent AU where Rangi joins the Flying Opera Company earlier. The dynamic shifts are fascinating, watching their partnership develop in the chaos of a smaller crew, and the slow burn feels earned. Some of the fight scenes are written with such crisp energy, you can almost see the fire and earth bending in your head. It just clicks. For something shorter but incredibly potent, 'Ashes on the Wind' deals with a moment of injury and vulnerability. It’s less about grand adventure and more about quiet, desperate care, and it highlights a tenderness between them that larger stories sometimes gloss over in favor of plot.

What are the best yandere manga novels to read?

8 Answers2026-02-07
I love ‘Shinigami-sama to 4-nin no Kanojo’ for example. This one is a harem-comedy where the main character is a death god. One of the heroines of the story is even a full-blown yandere – Mao tries her best to hide her murdering intentions towards the main character while at the same time trying to get close to him and compete with the other heroines for his love. It’s extremely funny and very silly – lots of over-the-top moments. The humor is always light and therefore it never tries to be scary in any way. You can therefore completely enjoy the yandere-trope as pure funny moments and not get dragged into any kind of in-depth psychological analysis of the yandere. That can be fun too from time to time.

What are the best lucifer x alastor fanfictions with emotional redemption arcs?

4 Answers2025-05-06
One of the redeeming fics of the Lucifer x Alastor pairing is ‘Shadows of Redemption’. It follows the overlord Alastor as he learns to care for others, with the guidance of Lucifer. Their journey begins as rivals, but slowly develops into respect and affection for each other. There are plenty of emotional scenes, to be sure, but overall it is a beautifully written fic. ‘Burning Bridges’ follows the path of redemption of Lucifer, and his attempts to reappear to Alastor. The portrayal of their bond in this one is extremely raw and heartfelt, making it an amazing read. ‘Hell’s Redemption’ is a more action-packed take on the same idea, but follows the story of Lucifer and Alastor teaming up to stop a celestial threat. Both the Redeemer pair and their battles are amazing in this one, so I highly recommend it. Fans of emotional storytelling and complicated relationships will love these fics.

What are the best Julie and the Phantoms fics on AO3?

I’m a very basic reader. I see a fic with Reggie and a dog, I read it. ‘Barking Up the Right Tree’ is a fic where Reggie finds a ghost dog at the Hollywood Ghost Club and then smuggles him out of there. It’s really funny and sweet. Sometimes I don’t want to read some long, dramatic story or some angsty, doomy romance. I just want to read about a ghost boy and his spectral golden retriever causing chaos and mayhem. There are tons of these kinds of fics floating around in the fandom if you’re interested.

How did the hands resist him originate as a creepypasta?

5 Answers2025-08-27
I read this late at night in a discussion forum. The original work was a real painting called ‘The Hands Resist Him’ by Bill Stoneham. Long before the web, it was published in an auction site’s advert as a photo with a rather spooky introduction to the painting. But the seed had been sown by that one person. Horror buffs on forums across the web debated the story in all its varied forms and even made up additional supernatural scenes and included links to other spoof sites etc. Even years on from the first posting, the story has continued to find new life in the form of YouTube videos, heavily edited images and even stories by fans of the original. I really like The Hands Resist Him because it so clearly demonstrates the power of the web to turn a single creepy image into a living myth. There are some really great interviews with the artist and early archived posts that are really cool to read, especially when you see how different the painting actually was from the myth that was created around it and how interesting it is to see how that created myth was actually created.

What are the best interactive stories online for adults?

10 Answers2026-06-19
Project Gutenberg has an 'interactive fiction' section with a number of classic choose-your-own-adventure style gamebooks from Project Gutenberg. While not exactly interactive fiction in the modern sense, some of the books, such as the ‘Lone Wolf’ series and ‘Heart of Ice’ are classics of the genre and have complex stories with a surprising amount of player control. Reading them online through an interpreter that handles the page turning and inventory management for you makes them easy to read. For adults interested in the roots of interactive storytelling, the ‘interactive fiction’ section of Project Gutenberg is a rich and free resource. Often the prose is dense and the challenges to the player are merciless and need to be solved through careful planning and mapping of the game world.

What are popular usopp x perona fanfiction tropes?

1 Answers2026-06-23
There are a few ways that Usopp and Perona are treated in Usopp/Perona fanwork. Most of all, the two are looked at through the lens of their dramatic qualities and through a few very common story patterns. First, the vast majority of stories that feature the two begin with their Drama Club conflict having taken place on Thriller Bark, before gradually evolving into an unlikely alliance after that. This is particularly common in stories in which the two are forced to rely on each other in some way (either because they are stuck together or because each of them brings a different skill to the table, as Usopp brings ingenuity and Perona brings Hollows). This is a great area to explore for both comedic and deeply emotional stories, in part because there is such a contrast between the grounded yet sometimes irrational fears of Usopp the liar and the detached, whimsical spookiness of Perona the ghost princess. Storytelling of the “after timeskip” type is quite typical for this pairing as well. Since they both have changed a great deal after years, this adds a lot of new angles to their interactions. A good example of this is the story where Perona searches for the Straw Hats, specifically for Usopp, the man who defeated her and whom she wants to see for herself. Now a very different person, Usopp is no longer that meek and afraid man she used to mock all the time, but a confident “brave warrior of the sea”. Perona is clearly very impressed with the new Usopp and his reputation, and while the older Usopp would have probably only been mortified by the “ghost princess”’, new Usopp is endearingly uneasy with her. Also, I have found a lot of ‘comfort’ or ‘healing’ stories. The stories follow both of them as they come to terms with the loss they have had to deal with, in Usopp’s case his self-doubt as a fighter and in Perona’s case, the abandonment by Moria. The majority of the comfort stories depict both of them slowly realizing the other person’s vulnerability, leading to intimate conversations where they can drop their personas. It is a really sweet read as it’s not so much a romance, but more of two people who can finally be themselves around the other person. Perona’s ghost powers or Usopp’s workshop are typically used as a background for their intimate moments together. In addition to the single- Unovapaired story, the Usopp/Perona pairing is also often written in crossover or alternate universe settings – with examples ranging from paranormal investigators to real ghosts, to rival artists in an alternate version of the One Piece universe, with Usopp possibly being a sculptor or inventor, and Perona a gothic fashion designer or blogger. The core of their pairing is the contrast between their two visual styles and personalities, and fans love to mix and match these in all sorts of different scenarios – from forced proximity to post-canon! The pairing is also frequently written with an emotional focus, and can have a deep and affecting side to the fun that is the pairing of exaggerated bravado with gothic whimsy. A great deal of fun can be had with the two characters, and their writer’s have certainly had fun, often managing to balance the dramatic pouts of the ghost princess with the frantic gestures of the cowardly liar.

Which horror books similar to It are the best?

'The Institute' by King is a children facing extreme horror story, albeit without Pennywise. It’s interesting to note how a group of kids can form relationships under duress, much like the Losers Club. The children in the story are simply laboratory subjects, and how the system can attempt to break their spirits is real and deadly. That fire extinguisher from Chapter 1 still haunts me to this day, months after I read the book.
