Jonathan's pop? Just kidding, did they even make one? If they did, it would have to be three different ones: loser Jonathan, superstar Jonathan, and then the Jonathan from 'Superstar' that's literally on everyone's posters. Now that would be an evolution—from background character to magical narcissist to tragic figure. The lack of a Jonathan pop is maybe the most accurate representation of his character.
The 'Superstar' Jonathan pop infecting other boxes is a hilarious concept. Imagine a Buffy pop, but with Jonathan's face on the poster behind her in the box art. That meta evolution of Jonathan taking over the narrative would be a fantastic, fourth-wall-breaking collectible. It's a shame Funko doesn't get that weird with it sometimes.

EXCERPT:
Students were running for their lives, vampires were hunting down their preys, friends betrayed friends by leaving them behind and saving their own lives first and soon, they all spread across the streets, causing chaos and killing anyone that they came across. There was carnage everywhere and from where Amber and the others stood, horror filled their eyes and Amber knew just what was happening. It was like the story that Hazel had told her back at the bookshop.
The Chosen One didn't make a sacrifice. She wanted revenge and these were the army she was after. The last war was not really the last after all. Now, the fate of mortality lies in her hand. She was the Chosen One, but she does not remember any of that, even though she has a feeling that she knew these people.
***
This is a story of Amber Willow, a seventeen year old girl living in a small City called Cinder. Though, her life doesn't always go according to the way it should, she believed she was just as normal as the rest of the kid out there but what she didn't realize was that, she was the One sent to bring an end to the existence of the wild creatures and because of that, other covens wanted her dead. The day she remembers who she really is, is the day the war would continue from where she last ended it and this time, she would not make the same mistake she made the last time. Her revenge would begin and it would start from the ones who took away the people dear to her. One by one, she would haunt them down and put an end to their immortality.

I’d argue some seasons are better represented than others. Season six's 'Dark Willow' Pop is maybe the most direct representation of an arc—the sweet witch gone completely off the rails, with the black hair and veins. But where’s the representation for the daily grind depression Buffy faced that season? A Pop of her in her Doublemeat Palace uniform would have been painfully accurate. The Trio got a Pop, which is funny because they were such a pathetic villain group, but it does capture the season's shift to very human, petty evil.
On the flip side, season seven is kinda just 'Buffy with the Scythe'. It works for the final battle iconography, but it doesn't capture the whole 'Potentials and worn-down general' feeling as well.
Drusilla, with her kooky, psychic-vampire vibe. She's dramatic and terrifying, speaking in prophecies and nonsense. But a lot of her lines are also unintentionally (or intentionally?) hilarious in their bizarre delivery. A Pop of her cradling a doll would look creepy, but would also evoke her uniquely off-kilter humor.
Tara's Pop is essential for the late-series dynamic. Her gentle, grounding influence on Willow and the group provided stability during very dark times. She represented a different kind of strength and belonging.
A Scooby Gang display that includes Tara acknowledges the family's growth and the importance of quiet, nurturing love within the chaos. Her absence in later displays always feels like an emotional omission to me.
What I appreciate is that they don't just do the wins. The 'Innocence' Angel with the ring? That's him at his lowest, having just lost his soul. It depicts the devastating aftermath of a battle (with Jenny Calendar, emotionally) that Buffy lost before it even began. Heavy stuff for a vinyl figure.
You know, I never really noticed any. I just buy them because I like the characters. Are people really analyzing the bases that closely? They're just little lumps of plastic to make the figure stand up, as far as I can tell.
