Are The Creators Planning An Angel Beats Sequel Or Season 2?

I'm so not ready for a sequel to this book. Right now I'm just trying to recover from the blow this book delivered. This book was harsh. In the grocery store. With letters. I'm a mess. I'm not sure my heart could handle another round of this with a sequel. Colleen Hoover so adeptly finds the most sensitive of emotional nerves and proceeds to poke at them. "Reminders of Him" did a phenomenal job of that. I need to let this sit and mature for a couple of years and then perhaps return to it as a female in her 40s with a sturdier heart. For now, I need fluffy romances that will not devastate me. Bedside Table Books type stuff. For now.

The voice actress of Scarlet in a recent radio interview stated that she has yet to be approached for further recording sessions for the sequel but would be very interested to. She comments that her role in recent years has been one of her favorites. While this is not confirmation of the sequel, it is also not a denial of the rumors that are currently in circulation. Usually when a sequel is entering production in the early stages the main cast will have their schedules tentatively blocked. The fact that Scarlet’s voice actress has yet to receive any communications regarding new recording sessions may indicate that the production is not yet actively in production or possibly pre-production talks are taking place and she is not aware of them.

It could go the movie route as well. I’ve seen a lot of popular series that aren’t quite pulling TV ratings to sustain 12 more episodes of TV for the next arc get condensed into a film instead to see if they can make a bigger impact with more animation budget. A movie for The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist would be awesome too. That would be something to consider instead of just another TV season.

We don’t have any word on this yet, but the fandom is hard at work speculating. Someone pointed out that last month there was a trademark filing for 'Jackerman: Reborn', but it’s probably just a working title. I’ll just listen to the OST for now and speculate as to where the story could go from here.

I just got word from the owner of my local bookstore that there were early talks with a sales rep about a graphic novel version of the story. This could be a good way to continue the story in a visual format, exploring different corners of the world in which the novel was set. The graphic novel could capture the silent, non-verbal communications of the characters and the dark, oppressive landscapes in which they existed. If a graphic novel were to do well, perhaps a prose version of the sequel could follow. Everything seems to be a test these days and so maybe the graphic novel will be followed by an audio drama, and if that does well then we’ll see about a novel version of Book 2.

I found the fantasy economics in this show to be really compelling. Watching Michio figure out the various ways to manipulate the market, purchasing a house, and even managing his finances was really enjoyable. A second season could explore so many more areas of this world. New cultures, new trade goods, new ways for politics to play out. Yes, the harem is part of the story, but so is the world-building, which is extremely rich. I would love to see Michio deal with a merchant guild trying to wrestle control of the various dungeons and their treasures from him. This would be a really smart show and could deal out some real tension and even some strategy to the various story arcs. Season two has the potential to be much better than a lot of people expect.

Just finished the last chapter of Lockwood & Co. and I can confirm that I'm reading exactly the same words as you right now. Miles Cameron seems to have gone quietly back to whatever he was doing before Lockwood, and there's been no mention of a direct sequel (which I rather think was a natural ending for the characters). I gather he writes in different worlds, so he's probably moved on to a new story by now. But (fingers crossed!) maybe he'll drop some hints on his social media. Have you seen any of his interviews recently? Often authors mention things in interviews that aren't mentioned in the later official announcements. So, this is a waiting game, and until he writes another book as fabulous as this one, I'll just have to haunt Cameron's online presence. A sequel would definitely be an instant pre-order for me.

This series would have to precede No Game No Life and Spice and Wolf sequels (or at least be in the tier of shows that fans are desperately petitioning for) to get a second season of Overflow. But as it stands, it’s a short, somewhat niche, somewhat ecchi series. It served a purpose to those who wanted it and has been mostly ignored by those who didn’t. It’s not a series with some giant, unresolved plot point that would require further development. The way it was developed was suitable to the type of story that it was. And no, there is likely no one even working on continuing it. The ending is somewhat open to interpretation, but as it stands, it is mostly self contained.

I’ve been trying to keep up with all the gossip regarding the eagerly awaited follow-up to ‘Rainmaker’. Although nothing has been officially confirmed by the author in terms of a sequel to ‘Rainmaker’ (although he does leave a lot of plot threads dangling at the end of the book and makes all the main characters very ‘human’ so can definitely see a sequel to this being done well and following the main character as he tries to pick up the pieces of his life and move on from his mentor), I would hope that the author would return to the world of ‘Rainmaker’ for a sequel. There are already a lot of plot threads laid out that have been left dangling at the end of the book and I would hope that the author wouldn’t leave too many of them dangling for too long. There are hints dropped in interviews with the author who says he is not finished with the Rainmaker world and is working on new ideas for the characters. It is well known that the author takes his time to produce sequels of equal impact to the first book and so when he does get round to writing the follow-up to ‘Rainmaker’ it will be worth the wait. ‘Rainmaker’ was an excellent novel that was full of very real characters and had a great story with lots of twists and turns and I have no idea where the author could take the story next but I’m sure it will be brilliant. While I wait for hopefully the sequel to Rainmaker to be announced, I’ve been rereading parts of the book, searching for things that I had totally missed when I read them the first time. So much foreshadowing in the last chapters of the book, I get the feeling that the author is laying the groundwork for the second installment of the Rainmaker world. One of the biggest ways that I see this is in the way that the main character’s relationships evolve. Most notably with his estranged family members, but also with a few of his friends, as well as the man that has been acting as a sort of mentor to him in his quest for recovery. The author occasionally posts on his social media accounts about his writing process and I almost despair every time I see a snippet of something new that he’s working on. Hopefully it’ll be the sequel to Rainmaker.

Who could have forgotten the Blu-ray box set OVA? It is typical of producers to try to milk as much as possible out of a successful anime series. Most of the time such OVAs are made as the last ’kick in the teeth’ for fans of a series. If a second season is planned, then such material would probably be saved for the new season or used as a promotion for the home video set. In this case however it was released together with the Blu-ray box set, apparently as a farewell present to the fans. A nice extra but in the end it felt like a farewell gift.
