What Is A Dangerous Deal And The Girl Next Door Raw About?

Stumbled on this manhwa, but plot summaries aren't revealing much. Is this a forced marriage trope with a fake relationship, or something darker? The title intrigues me.

I'm assuming you want a summary of the original work. From what I gather, it's a romance novel that focuses on a forced cohabitation contract between two neighbors who are forced to pretend to have a relationship in close quarters. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the original work and the details are a bit fuzzy, but I think THE GIRL NEXT DOOR ISN'T INNOCENT! could be a good alternative to this story. It features a seemingly sweet and innocent next door neighbor who really isn’t, as he hides his true aggressive and calculating nature from the male lead who expected a simple romance with his attractive neighbor.

I randomly picked up the raw for ‘A Dangerous Deal and the Girl Next Door’ to read another manga, and it looked so good. It’s a suspense/romance story where the main male gets involved in a shady deal and the other party is his next door neighbor. The raws are great because you get to see the unpolished emotions of the characters. The artist is very raw (heh) and uses a lot of blackspace to make the characters look really expressive. The way it uses ‘the girl next door’ trope and twists it in a darker way is also really cool. It’s kind of like peeling an onion – every chapter reveals more layers than you expected.

I think what keeps bringing me back to this manga is the complex and fluctuating dynamic between the two leads and how they interact with each other in tense situations of both trust and suspicion as well as attraction and danger. Their interactions, which can seem very forbidden in the raw format, are so much to take in and leave me wanting to know more about what happens between them. If you enjoy manga that walks the line between very cozy and creepy, this is definitely a wild ride. And don’t say I didn’t warn you if you end up reading it straight through until 3 AM.

'(raw) A Dangerous Deal and the Girl Next Door' This manga has all the makings of an addictive thriller / slice-of-life except for the part where it’s upside down. The main character in this manga tries to make a shady deal to get out of a bad spot. His next door neighbor, who usually borrows sugar from the main character, gets involved and everything starts to fall apart. The raw is full of unpolished lines and the dialogue is translated but the bubbles are packed so much with untranslated tension that it almost feels like you’re listening in on a conversation that you can only half understand.

Her simple design makes her more surprising in her moments of strength. In one panel she is making cookies in the kitchen, the next she has slipped into the story to drop some critical information. Overall, the book has a simple, moody and atmospheric design that really lingers. This is the type of story that fans of books where seemingly normal situations can mask danger would enjoy.

Reading the raw version of this manga is like entering an unlabeled noir film – you feel the hustle and bustle of the crazy, multilingual setting, without subtitles or dubs. A Dangerous Deal and the Girl Next Door dives into a world where one botched deal alters the life of the main character forever. Will the help of the innocent-looking girl next door be enough to save him? First of all, there is the remarkable rawness of the images: unpolished sketches, rough transitions between the panels. And then there is the way this manga turns the classic ‘innocent neighbor’ trope on its head. The girl next door has her own share of shadows in her smiling face, and the views we get of the protagonist’s thoughts are equally unreliable.

The novel is extremely fast paced, especially for a raw scan. The chapters are incredibly lean and won’t waste your time with unecessary fluff. There is a high chance of “one more chapter”-ism and you will be stoked to find out what the girl is up to. This psychological thriller features plenty of romance and I would definitely recommend it to fans of the genre. It’s fun to read the novel without any translations, because it makes you feel like a detective trying to piece together the novel.

Consider the emotional arc of the protagonist in this raw narrative. We see him at the beginning of the story as possibly arrogant or desperate enough to make a deal with the devil. He is then consumed with regret and fear. The protagonist’s regret for past actions is alleviated when the girl is introduced and he feels the need to make amends for past wrongs. His journey is one of growth from self-preservation to protective devotion and then to a full partnership where he must learn to rely on her. This is a journey from isolation to connection and as previously stated, that connection is potentially dangerous. In many ways, every moment of happiness that the protagonist experiences with the girl is overshadowed by the timing of his contract and the obligation that he feels towards her (giri) as well as the growing affection that he feels for her (ninjo) despite the circumstances of her being placed in danger by his actions. This is the raw Japanese text and as can be seen, the emotional complexity of the story and the protagonist’s development is an integral part of the original work.

How does A Dangerous Deal and the Girl Next Door raw end?

I've been avoiding the middle of this book, but I finally gave in and read the end. It was on a tropical beach where the two were laughing together. He kept calling her "Mrs. CEO" and then she splashed him in the water. The end of the book. I'll assume they managed to land the deal and then proceeded to become millionaires and retired early. Not a bad life. After hundreds of chapters of angst, it would be nice to see the two happy and carefree. As for the details of how they got there, I really didn't care. The last chapter was so cute and fluffy, it was the perfect way to clear my mind after finishing that long book.

It's also good to point out the cons of reading online. Most people will just blurt out "syosetu.com" but very few actually explain the site's flaws. For one, the mobile version of the site is incredibly hard to navigate. And even with the best of browser extensions, the text on the site looks horrible. Of course, the official site is supposed to be the best way to read online, but the experience isn't always smooth. The page will sometimes reload for no reason, and in the ads section, there are so many banner ads that it's a pain to read. If you do end up reading online, just be prepared for the website to be just as hard to deal with as the language itself. Having realistic expectations for the online reading experience can save you a lot of frustration.

What is the plot of Dangerous Deal and Girl Next Door?

I stumbled upon 'Dangerous Deal' and 'Girl Next Door' during a binge-reading session last summer, and both left quite an impression. 'Dangerous Deal' is this gritty thriller about a desperate businessman who gets entangled in a shady underworld contract after his company collapses. The tension escalates when he realizes the deal involves more than just money—it’s a life-or-death game with a mysterious syndicate. The moral dilemmas and pulse-pounding twists kept me glued to the pages. 'Girl Next Door,' on the other hand, is a lighter but equally gripping romance-mystery. It follows an ordinary guy whose new neighbor turns out to be hiding a shocking secret—maybe even a double life. The chemistry between them is electric, but the lurking danger adds a layer of suspense. I love how it balances sweet moments with edge-of-your-seat reveals. Both stories are perfect for anyone craving a mix of adrenaline and heart.

This is really interesting. I had the misunderstanding that the translation wouldn’t update if the raw was incomplete, but this thread is showing me that the two processes are totally disconnected sometimes and that can happen.

The comments already are full of very useful information for finding more of the kind of thing you like. My contribution: Don’t underestimate the wealth of amazing fanfiction that is based on A Dangerous Deal and other inspired-by-it scenes on Wattpad and AO3. Users writing their own original stories while trying to capture the essence of a favorite read or even create a counterpart are awesome in their own right, and it’s very possible that there are Contract Marriage, Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Obsessive Love and Dark Romance stories of high quality already written and available to read for free. (Note: as they are written by users from all over the world, most of these stories are in English, so you won’t have to deal with any translated text.) The stories won’t be the ‘raw’ Korean originals you seem to be looking for, but if the real core of your love for A Dangerous Deal is the contract marriage trope and the feelings that the characters experience, then you will find plenty of inspiration on those sites for more of the same.

I get that there are a lot of trope lovers out there, and that endings need to be delivered as trope vehicles. 'Dangerous Deal' is a great delivery of 'Grovel', 'Power Couple' and 'Redeemed Villain Hero'. 'Girl Next Door' is a perfect First Love, Friends to Lovers and Golden Retriever Hero story, and the ending should deliver a great swoon-worthy confession of love. I would imagine both of these novels do a good job of sticking the landing for their respective core tropes (sufficient and satisfying 'Grovel' for Dangerous Deal, and a great 'First Love' confession for Girl Next Door). Based on reviews and chatter throughout the community, I gather that they do in fact deliver satisfactory endings for readers seeking specific tropes, which is probably why each are frequently recommended within their respective tropes. A failed ending would be a failure to deliver on the tropes that were promised.

Is Dangerous Deal and Girl Next Door based on a true story?

It’s interesting to consider the massive cultural attachment to anchoring the most extreme of fiction in reality. It feels like people are unwilling to give the most horrifying stories the credit they deserve to be scary within their own context, and therefore need to be proven true in order to be fully feared. This does a great disservice to the horror genre, which is in practice a space for some of the most thoughtful and probing sociologists and psychologists writing today. It’s interesting that you believe the best extreme fiction has to be anchored in reality. I believe that insisting something has to be ‘true’ in order to be scary enough is a failure of the imagination. The fact that a human mind is able to come up with something as dark and scary as so much of horror fiction and be able to form it into a story that will scare others is far more scary than the mere idea itself. In other words, the fact that something so dark and scary is able to be created by the human mind is in and of itself rather disturbing. So, no, I don’t believe that most of the truly scary extreme fiction is based on a true story. In fact, I think that most of it is purely the product of the human imagination and are original nightmares. They are meant to scare and to tap into our most primitive fears. Giving the stories that are terrifying to most people a ‘based on a true story’ tag is a way to creatively shift the blame for the nightmares that people read about in fiction to a place outside of the fiction itself, i.e. to real life.

I do not remember any specific scenes or even chapters from the book, but I am reminded of a certain feeling or mood that it evoked. The feeling was one of emptiness but it was good. It was like the feeling that one gets after eating a large meal and then sitting around feeling full and satisfied. I do not remember closing the book and lying on my back staring at the ceiling for what seemed like hours, but that is probably what I did. A good ending to a book is often not about the plot but about the mood that it evokes and how long that mood lasts with the reader. Perhaps I should read it again. Does anyone want to do a buddy read with me to help out my poor memory?

Is Dangerous Deal and Girl Next Door worth watching?

This is a little unusual but I’ve come up with a way to look at two shows. “Dangerous Deal” is one of those shows that is better to watch with friends while eating snacks and yelling at characters who make really poor business decisions. It’s also good to watch with friends who are equally annoyed with the music which is ridiculously over-the-top. On the other hand, “Girl Next Door” is a solo viewing experience. I wouldn’t put this on to watch with friends as I think they would get bored quickly and pull out their phones. This show is best viewed when you are in the mood for something to absorb personally, rather than to dissect socially. And in terms of practical application, that is a huge difference between the two shows.

Looking for a detective story? Note that the story was published on a strict weekly timetable in individual chapters. While the unfolding of real life events might be more unevenly paced, it won’t be all neatly tied up in regular, exciting cliffhangers. The publication of commercial web fiction is typically arranged in a strictly serialized fashion in order to create a reader habit and thus ensure subscription by readers. The schedule of a story’s revelation and its commercial setup are not similar to that of any real events that might unfold.
