Which Edition Includes The Complete Nick And Charlie Novella?
Loved the Heartstopper graphic novels! Did Nick and Charlie's soft holiday novella ship with the paperback, the collector's edition, or a separate volume entirely? Hope this wasn't a limited run.

I'm waiting for someone to confirm if the Japanese translation includes both novellas in one volume. That's a whole other rabbit hole.

Why is this so complicated? It shouldn't be this hard. Just go on Amazon and type in 'Nick and Charlie Alice Oseman'. The first result that isn't an audiobook or part of a collection is the correct paperback. The product details will say 'This edition contains both This Winter and Nick and Charlie'. That's your sign. Ignore the 'Solitaire' results unless you specifically want that novel too. The cover art is usually a photo-style image of the characters.

For maximum content, the 'Heartstopper Yearbook' is unbeatable. You get a ton of bonus material about the comics AND a complete prose novella. It's like a fan's dream compilation. Having the novella included almost feels like a generous afterthought, but it's a major part of the book's value.

Wait, I'm pretty sure it was a separate digital release first, then packaged with the 'Solitaire' paperback later? Actually, scratch that. The definitive version is in the 'This Winter' and 'Nick and Charlie' bind-up that was published as a single book. That edition literally has both novellas together. So if you get 'This Winter' and 'Nick and Charlie', you're getting the complete, unedited 'Nick and Charlie' story. It's a slim volume but contains exactly what you're asking for. Check the author's website for the most accurate publishing history.

The special 'Solitaire' edition is the one. It's often called the 'collector's edition' or 'special edition' in listings. The novella isn't a separate pamphlet; it's bound into the same volume. It makes for a satisfyingly thick read that covers a lot of emotional ground.

I knew there was no escaping it. My father’s sins would be my undoing. He was a wicked man, feared and hated by many, and now that he was dead, the weight of his crimes had fallen squarely on me. I didn’t even have the chance to grieve—or to breathe—before his Beta dragged me away from the south, from everything I’d ever known.
I was supposed to be their Alpha. That was my birthright. But it didn’t matter. The pack had other plans for me, and being their leader wasn’t one of them. My father’s Beta delivered me to the northern Alphas, the very men who despised my father the most. And that’s when I learned the cruelest truth: they were my mates. But they didn’t want me.
Warning: This is a reverse harem mild dark romance filled with intense emotions and themes that are not for the faint of heart. Read at your own risk.
(This is an edited, well-structured version of the First Edition Scarlett)

“You’ve never had two naked men make you the center of all of their attention?” Drake said. “Never had two men worship you with every single inch of their bodies?”
“Never been sandwiched between two huge, hard guys?” Dux said. “Never been kissed and touched by two sets of hands and lips?”
“No,” she whispered. “Never.”
“Is that something you’d like?” Dux’s voice was getting even deeper, even darker. “Something you’d want to experience?” ****
Dux and Drake Keeler are ex–Road Devils MC enforcers, twins who live fast, fight dirty, and love without limits. Fresh off a brutal raid on a cult compound, they’re tearing across the country with one goal: protect what’s theirs. And lately, that’s Briley.
The brothers are equal parts savage and irreverent, bound by blood and an unbreakable rule: they share everything. Including desire. They want Briley in their world, their arms, their bed, and they’re unapologetic about it.
Briley Cross is still reeling from surviving a cult and killing its leader. The twins offer her a new start, and something far more dangerous: devotion from two men who make her the center of everything. It’s tempting. Terrifying. Irresistible.
But when enemies of the Road Devils go to war, Briley becomes the target. As Dux and Drake unleash hell to save her, she’s carrying a secret that could change all their lives...if they survive long enough to claim it.

For a completist, the audiobook is a must-listen. It doesn't add lore, but it adds atmosphere. The subtle background sounds, the breath between words—it crafts a mood. The print version is more neutral, leaving the atmosphere entirely to your imagination.
Which one you prefer depends on whether you want the director's cut of the emotional journey or the raw script to direct yourself.
Honestly, just Google 'Alice Oseman official website.' Her site will have direct, authoritative links to every legitimate place to buy her books, in every format and region. It's the one-stop, author-approved source. Cut out the guesswork and go straight to the source.
I read 'Nick and Charlie' first by accident, and it was a weird experience. I was thrown into this intense, emotional weekend where they're deeply in love but facing separation. Then I went back to 'Heartstopper' and got to see their adorable, awkward beginning. It was like watching a movie in reverse, knowing the ending but savoring every step that led there. It's not the recommended order, but it created a unique, poignant feeling of nostalgia for moments I hadn't even read yet.
The novellas aren't just filler. 'Magic Dreams' gives you Raphaels's POV, which is huge for understanding the Beast Lord's inner circle. 'Magic Stars' stars Greyson and is practically a prerequisite for the final trilogy's themes. If you view them as optional, you're reading a truncated version of the story. The authors wove threads through all these pieces intentionally; the main novels often assume you've read the side material published up to that point.
The audiobook is a different texture than the book. The book is words on a page, silent, interpreted by your own inner voice. The audiobook is those words given flesh, warmth, and breath by actors. The 96 minutes is the duration of that shared performance.
The 11 chapters are the architecture. They give the performers and listeners moments to reset, to shift emotional gears. In a story this tightly focused on dialogue, those pauses are crucial. They let a line land, let a reaction settle. So the length and structure aren't arbitrary; they're the stage and the curtain calls for this intimate, two-person play.
