I see a lot of crossover prompts and ideas for 'My Hero Academia' and 'One Punch Man', but fewer full-length, well-executed fics. The tone mismatch is hard to balance. Saitama's existential boredom and parody-level power don't mesh easily with MHA's earnest struggle.
The good ones lean into the comedy of Saitama accidentally solving all of MHA's major conflicts in one punch, and the subsequent existential crisis it gives everyone, especially All Might. The Genos and Midoriya dynamic as fanboy disciples is also underutilized gold. Most fics are short crack pieces because sustaining a serious plot is so challenging.

The 'Fire Emblem: Three Houses' crossover wave was huge for a while. The house system at Garreg Mach Monastery mirrors UA's classes perfectly. Edelgard's revolutionary ideals against hero society? Dimitri's feral streak alongside Katsuki? It's a character writer's playground, mixing and matching personalities from both casts for support conversations and epic battles.

Man, if you browse AO3 for long enough, you'll see 'BNHA' crossed with 'Marvel' everywhere. It's a natural fit because both universes are built on superpowers and hero society, but the tones clash in such an interesting way. People love throwing Izuku into the MCU and watching him geek out over Iron Man or trying to reconcile his earnest heroism with Marvel's more cynical world. The potential for character collisions is just too good to pass up for most writers.

'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' crossovers are a special kind of chaos. Haruhi's unconscious reality-warping abilities would be the ultimate, unclassifiable Quirk. The SOS Brigade trying to investigate the 'espers' and 'aliens' of the MHA world, who are just people with Quirks, is a hilarious concept.
These fics are almost exclusively comedic and meta, playing with the idea that the entire MHA universe might just be a subconscious creation of a bored high school girl. It's not for everyone, but it's a creative and funny deconstruction when done well.

Just gonna throw this out there: 'Hazbin Hotel'. The chaotic energy of the hellaverse meeting the structured chaos of UA is something I need. Can you imagine Sir Nighteye trying to read the future on Alastor? Or Charlie's redemption project trying to reform Tomura Shigaraki? The tonal whiplash alone would be glorious.

Elina thought she had hit rock bottom.
She lost her job. Her therapy session dredged up memories of the ex-boyfriend who stalked and traumatized her. The only thing she had left to look forward to was the finale of her favorite fantasy series, Moonbound Faith.
Then the show ended.
The heroes won. The villain died. Everyone got their happily-ever-after.
That same night, a knock at her door shatters what little peace she has left.
Her ex is standing outside.
The man who was supposed to be in prison.
Forced to flee into a storm, Elina runs until she reaches the edge of a cliff with nowhere left to go. Faced with a choice between death and returning to the man who destroyed her life, she jumps.
But instead of dying, she wakes up inside Moonbound Faith.
Not as the heroine.
Not as a side character.
But as Luna—the infamous villainess whose tragic death she celebrated only hours before.
Determined to survive, Elina plans to use her knowledge of the story to change her fate. But everything she thought she knew begins to unravel when a small boy tugs on her sleeve and calls her one word:
“Mom.”
The original story never mentioned a child.
And when Elina uncovers the truth behind his existence, she realizes something terrifying.
The villainess was never the villain.
The story lied.
And the ending she remembers may not be the ending waiting for her at all.

I woke up inside a novel, and not even as an important character.
I became a pretty background extra in a smut novel.
My brother, however, was the only normal person in the entire story.
His character setting was the one man the soft, delicate heroine could never win over.
He was the cold, unattainable Prince Charming she could never conquer.
When the heroine cried and confessed her love, he was studying.
When she offered him her whole heart and body, he was busy starting a company.
When she spiraled into scandals and nightlife, he was already a billionaire, calm and untouchable.
I thought he would live a quiet, ascetic life forever.
Until one night, I walked in on him at midnight…
holding a piece of clothing I recognized all too well, murmuring a name over and over, a name so familiar that my scalp tingled.
After transmigrating into a novel, I realized the heroine and I had the exact same name.
Naturally, I thought I had transmigrated into the female lead.
So I marched straight to the man who was still a broke nobody at the time, threw all caution to the wind, and pounced on him like I had plot armor protecting me.
He even glared at me with red eyes and told me he hated me. I honestly thought he was just into the whole push-and-pull thing.
Everything shattered when the real heroine showed up and I finally understood one thing. He actually hated me.
Heartbroken, I packed my bags and got ready to disappear.
The next second, he pinned me against the wall.
"Where are you going? Already bored of me, sweetheart?"
As a reader, we can fall in love with a Fictional Character. The words that the author use to define the physical attribute makes us readers fall in love with that character.
Same as Amira Madrigal, who's deeply in love with a fictional character named Zeke Alejandro from a book that she always read, the title "Unexpected Love Story".
Zeke is a bad boy and an arrogant campus prince who's written to fell in love with Krisha Fajardo, the female lead character of the story.
Unfortunately, Amira hasn't read the book completely because her professor caught her reading the book while his teaching. An unknown sender gives her a link to a site where she could continue to read the next part of the story.
She doesn't know that this will be the way for her to enter another world. Another dimension.
To meet her Love. Zeke Alejandro, the fictional character inside the book.
Could she also be the main character of the story she accidentally went into? Or would be the antagonist to the main character that she always imagined to be her?
How will the story run??
How will the story end??
I lurk the AO3 MHA crossover tag a lot, and the big ones are pretty predictable once you start scrolling. 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' is absolutely massive—the sheer number of fics where Class 1-A gets dumped into New York or Spidey ends up at UA is wild. 'Harry Potter' is another constant; the 'wizard with a Quirk' or 'Midoriya gets a Hogwarts letter' premise has endless variations.
'Naruto' and 'One Piece' are huge in the anime/manga crossover space, which makes sense given the shonen battle genre overlap. You also see a ton of 'Attack on Titan' and 'Demon Slayer' crossovers, probably because of the dark fantasy and high-stakes fight elements. 'DC Universe' pops up a fair bit too, especially Batman or Superman meeting All Might scenarios.
It’s interesting though—you’ll occasionally get a surprise like a crossover with 'The Witcher' or 'Percy Jackson', but the feed is dominated by those first few I mentioned. The Marvel one is just its own beast, I think it might actually outnumber some of the anime ones.
For a minute I thought you were talking about a specific AO3 collection, but that kind of dedicated, fandom-specific crossover archive is mostly an older fandom creature. 'My Hero Academia' crossovers are scattered all over, really. The primary organizational method is just tags on Archive of Our Own.
You'd typically filter for 'My Hero Academia' and then include a second fandom tag, maybe 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' or 'Jujutsu Kaisen'. Authors are pretty good at using relationship tags for the crossover pairings too, which helps. I remember spending a whole weekend just filtering for Izuku Midoriya & various characters from other series.
There isn't a single central hub. Some old forums or fanfiction.net communities might have attempted themed collections, but the tagging system has made that kind of dedicated archive less necessary, even if it's a bit messier to navigate.
Crossover MHA fics? Honestly, most of the ones I've stumbled on are over on Archive of Our Own. Their tagging system is a lifesaver when you're looking for something specific. I filter by 'Crossover' in the fandom field, then add 'My Hero Academia' as the secondary fandom.
That said, the quality can be a real mixed bag. You'll get these epic, novel-length merges where the world-building is insane—like a 'My Hero Academia'/'Fullmetal Alchemist' fusion where alchemy is a quirk type. But you also have to wade through a lot of poorly executed 'character-gets-isekai'd' plots. I tend to sort by kudos after filtering to find the standouts.
Don't sleep on some older forums, either. SpaceBattles and Sufficient Velocity have dedicated threads for MHA crossovers, especially ones that lean into power analysis or alternate universe scenarios. The discussion threads there can be as fun as the stories themselves.
The 'cross one's fingers' trope in 'My Hero Academia' fanfiction adds layers to Bakugou and Midoriya's dynamic by subtly highlighting their unspoken bond. Their rivalry is intense, but this trope often explores moments where they silently hope for each other's success despite their clashes. It humanizes Bakugou, showing vulnerability beneath his aggression, while Midoriya's unwavering faith in him feels more poignant when framed through this gesture. The trope also bridges their childhood history with their current struggles, making their growth feel earned. Fanfics using this often weave it into critical scenes—like battles or quiet confessions—where words fail but actions speak volumes.
What makes it resonate is how it mirrors canon's themes of trust and complexity. Bakugou isn't the type to vocalize support, so a fidgety, hidden gesture fits his character. Midoriya, who reads him better than anyone, picks up on it, creating intimacy without overt romance. The trope thrives in AU settings too, where their relationship is reimagined but retains that push-pull tension. It’s a small detail that amplifies emotional stakes, making reconciliation or love feel inevitable yet hard-won.
